How the Lease Commissions are Split?
oskar27 replied to oskar27's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
I had the same idea that they wanted to keep the car but if it has to go to auction why they didnt let me go to the other dealer and save the money / time to drive me over there to pick up my new car? -
How the Lease Commissions are Split?
oskar27 replied to oskar27's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
I find it strange that dealer A did not get any commission because he had to have inspect my 2013 Edge plus he drove me to the new dealer. All this work for nothing? The salesman at the new dealer had told me when the new Edge arrives I just drive there with my old Edge and drive away with the new one however when the time came the old dealer called me and said my old Edge has to be driven to their place and they will give me a lift to pick up the new one. I didn’t like that but the new dealer confirmed that so I had no choice. Kind of strange but that’s what happened. -
Back in February 2013 I took a 3 years lease for my 2013 Edge Limited from dealer A. At the end of the lease I decided to get my new 2016 Edge Titanium from dealer B with a 4 years lease. When the new 2016 Edge arrived at dealer B, I drove my 2013 Edge to dealer A, and they gave me a lift to dealer B (about 30km away) to pick up my new 2016 Edge. Out of curiosity how the commissions are split in the above situation?

Thanks guys, somehow I had a feeling the 2013 Edge TPMS would not work on the 2016. Now its confirmed

Last December I got from a Ford dealer a set of winter tires (18” mags and tires) for my 2016 Edge Titanium but due to a misunderstanding the TPMS valves were not installed. The tires are Champiro IcePro SUV, 245/60R18 105T. Not very happy without the TPMS but I have 2 options to consider Installing the TPMS valves on the above tires will cost me approx. CAD$450.00 + tax (TPMS valves cost $CAD60.00 each) From my previous 2013 Edge Limited I do have a set of winter tires (mags and tires) with the TPMS valves already installed and they only have about 12000 km. However they are 17” mags and the tires are BFGoodrich 235/65R17 108S. The 17” mags do not fit my 2016 Edge and so some suggested it will be less expensive to get a set of 17” steel rims and install the 17” tires and TPMS valves on the steel rims. I don’t know the cost of a set of steel rims yet Reading on the web https://www.wheel-size.com/size/ford/edge/2016/ I see that the minimum tire size for 2016 Edge is 18” so to me my 2013 Edge 17” tires will not fit however friends tell me that’s not a problem My questions: Are 17” steel rims and tires suitable for a 2016 Edge and would the TPMS valves from a 2013 Edge work on a 2016 Edge?

I got my car last April and no one has touched the car since then because it was running as it should. Forgot to mention that I had no problem with starting the car even in -20C weather neither any acceleration / hesitation problems – just when I was at a red light she will start the rough idle and I had to keep pressing the gas a little because I was thinking she will stop. I don’t know if this has anything to do with the rough idle but about 10 days before the problem started I went to a dealer to purchase a set of new winter tires (tires, mags and the 4 TPMS valves). However they installed regular valves instead of the TPMS by mistake and now the TPMS is not working and have the light on my dash lit all the time.

Yesterday when I went out I noticed to my surprise that the rough idle was gone and the engine was running like new again. For the past 2 weeks I have done nothing special neither I fill up and I have no idea why the rough idle appeared in the first place neither why disappeared by itself. Since my appointment with the dealer was this morning, I went and explained the above and they said to go back if and when the problem comes back. So that’s the news
-
Very good point, when the problem first occurred it was the first thing I thought - to switch gas station but it did not help

I had a 2013 Edge Limited with the 2.0L Ecoboost engine and after 32K km I never had a problem using regular gas. Same with my new 2016 Edge for 6200 km never had a problem until now. The owner’s manual says to use regular gas and that’s what I do. It’s not the fuel I got my appointment with the dealer for next Monday and they said since it’s very unusual to have engine problem on a new car they will keep the car all day for various tests. I will report back the results

Yes both engine / trany fully warmed, I will check with the dealer. I'm very surprised on a new car to have engine problems

On my 2016 Edge Titanium with 2.0 Ecoboost and 6200km I’m experiencing very rough idle speed every time I stop at a red light or anywhere else. If I shift to neutral then its ok. No problem accelerating or driving and plan to take it for service. I wonder if it’s a common problem on the 2016.

I will give that a try enigma-2

I always use the keypad in the summer when I don’t have enough pockets, very convenient In the winter when I have tons of pockets I hardly use it I guess there must be something wrong with mine and I will have it checked in my first service.

Its 4 months now I have my 2016 Edge Titanium and I must say it’s the best car I ever had, absolutely beautiful. The only annoying problem I have is with the Keyless entry keypad which I use often and a few times I was almost locked out. I have a 5 digits number to enter and although I enter it correctly, the door does not unlock always at the first try. Does anyone else has the same problem? Is there a particular way to punch the numbers? I know the manual says to key in the numbers slowly but this does not help

Finally I ended up buying the ones from Ford (part #FT4Z-18246-A, it’s a kit for 4, CAD$132.18 + tax). You have no choice to get only the front ones which I wanted Very nice looking, sleek and the color identical to the doors trim (black), you can hardly notice them The installation instructions are pictorial and subject to misunderstanding but it took me less than 30 minutes to install all 4 of them. The kit includes everything you need (Scotch-Brite Pad, Alcohol prep pads and Adhesive Promoter). I think they are expensive for stick-ons but they are nice looking and if they don’t peel-off with the harsh weather I will be happy

I agree with you folks, nowhere is mentioned to slide the screen to see the next functions. Now I will go and check all screens to see if I discover more goodies, lol -

This DID the trick ONEDGE16, wow, I dont have page 2 but looking on the screen I touched it and swept with my finger to the left and there I can see the extra icons for Ambient Light, WiFi, Vallet and one more which I forget.what it was. Now I can check all the other screens in the same way to see what else I can discover, LOL Much appreciated -

Ambient Lighting by the Footwell
oskar27 replied to oskar27's topic in 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II
As I mentioned on the Sync3 screen under Settings, I have nothing with "vehicle" or "ambient lighting" On the instrument cluster I do have "vehicle" but under this screen there is nothing about "ambient lighting" -
Ambient Lighting by the Footwell

I understand what you are saying but in my 2016 Edge I don’t have anything similar Yes I have Sync3 and on my screen when I touch the “Settings” I get 8 squares on the screen (Sound, Clock, Bluetooth, 911 Assist, Navigation, Mobile Apps, General and Voice Control) When I touch on the “General Square” I get: Language, Distance, Temperature, Touch Screen Beep, Auto System Updates, About, Software Licences and. Main Reset. There is nothing about Lights or Ambient Lights On the left instrument cluster I do have an entry for Lights but the only option on this entry is to adjust how many seconds the lights stay on after you open a door etc. The footwells and the bottom of the doors are lit when I open any door but when I close the doors all these lights go OFF. Thanks for the manual, its handy to have it on .PDF format -
Does the footwell lighting is included in the 2016 Titanium Edge? If so where is the control for it? My old 2013 Edge Limited had the control on the MFT screen and I could switch to 6 different colors. On the 2016 Titanium the MFT does not have anything for ambient lighting or lights

Good to know but kind of late for me because the ones I ordered should arrive tomorrow. I loved the ones from Weathertech on my 2013 Edge, slim and a good fit. If I don’t like the ones I ordered hopefully I can return them and then I will wait for Weathertech
-
Good to know they worked good for you, Since Weathertech does not have ones for either 2015 / 2016 Edge I found another place locally and placed an order for a set of 4 (I only wanted the front ones but I had no choice). He said they should be here in the next couple of days and they are not stick-ons, they fit tight like the Weathertech. Cost about CAD$120 + taxes for the set. I will post pictures when I get them on. I just dont know why Ford does not have a fix for this problem, like today its raining here and if I crack my window open I get flooded inside + the wipers through the rain right inside
