Hello, My 13 Sel probably rides as it should. No shipping blocks in the springs etc. My question. Is the suspension the same in a 13 Lincoln MKX or do these vehicles have a smooth ride? It's hard to believe Ford would different suspension parts in the almost identical vehicles but you never now. The only other complaint is the Paint. I have a few very small chips that go to the primer. I would think the paint would be thick or touch enough so to scatch instead of chip. Ruby Red color Thanks Larry

Hello, I posted earlier and asked how well plasti dip held up. Through reading other posting I gather it holds up really well. Now for another question. Yep opening the windows worked. lol I turned on auto temp, switched fan speed to lower speed turned off ac and you are correct , feels like outside air is coming through the vents. No lights lit up on center button. Thanks Larry

Is there a way to bring in outside air in 2013 Edge SEL without using the heat or air cond modes. I don't see a vent button unlike other vehicles that have vent mode. Thanks Larry Northern,In

Hello, My 13 Sel had a faint creak/rattle somewhere in the center dash/console. I couldn't pinpoint exactly where it was. I have a spray bottle of vinyl protectent, drilled a small hole in nozzle and incerted a straw from a PB blaster can. I shot the protectent in every nook and cranny I could find. So far so good. Yes I think it is common. My 13 Edge makes the same grinding sounding noise at first braking. I've driven two other 13's , same noise. supposedly hard rotors and pads. Larry Northern,In

New rattle/vibration sound when closing doors or liftgate. Not the exhaust heat shield this time. The plastic shield/cover under the right side of the gas tank. Easy fix. I used a non-porous piece of hard rubber About 1-1/2" long x 1" wide x 1/4" thick. Pulled shield down , slid rubber into the narrowest area. Probably could use smaller or larger piece. Todd, I'll check with my dealer. After thinking about this I assume they are rear hubs that are splined for all wheel drive. Just as akirby stated. I wouldn't think it would cost Ford anymore to build the cars this way. Could be cheaper by not using different hubs for the FWD model. Larry

Rotated my tires for the first time yesterday. While checking things out, I noticed ford put front hubs on the rear or Ford did this just incase the car was ordered with all wheel drive because the rear hubs are splined for a axle. Pat8839, The only time I noticed mine rattle was when I closed the rear lift gate. I thought I heard the noise coming from the right side rear. How I made sure what it was. I laid under the car and had someone shut the lift gate. And wala there it was. easy fix.. Larry Northern,In

I wouldn't think the 2014 is much different than the 2013. Should have a 12V plug in, on the right hand side of the console under the dash, another in the console , another on the back of the console by the air vents, another in the back cargo area. Larry Northern,In

Well I took a picture of the muffler and shield. Hope you can make it out. Not much room under the car. You could probably just push up or pull down on either the front or rear of the shield enough to take the flex out so it wouldn't rattle. The left shield has a wire loom fastened to it which may keep it from rattling?

Just enough to take the flex out of it . You may be able to put enough without unscrewing it?? Sorry no pictures. May see if I can take one? Larry

Mine was the right hand exhaust shield. Screws held mine on. I removed a couple screws ,put a small bent in the shield, put screws back in. The bend seemed to take the flex out which caused the rattle. The shield rattled against the bottom of the car 2013 SEL Larry Northern,In

Hello, Could possibly be a water pump, which is internal. There is a weep hole behind the alternator. Possible it is leaking and evaporating so it doesn't show on the ground?? I wouldn't worry too much about bad mpg's on one tank. I ran into the same thing while on my 2500 mile trip last year. Just cheap gas or they snuck in more ethanol than what is supposed to be allowed. I still averaged 26.3 on the trip. Larry Northern,In
