lowelanxd, Excellent,Excellent,Excellent. The procedure you posted for changeing spark plugs is a GREAT help for the do it your selfers. I'm not even close to time to change but sure will save the pdf's for future reference. The only thing I didn't see or maybe missed is the proper torque for the plugs and plenum bolts. If you have those would you please post? Thank you Larry Northern,In.

A dealer can do most anything he wants to to make a deal. That's if he wants to sell. As I posted earlier I used the D plan. The dealer cut me a check to come to the deal. The paperwork that ford saw didn't show thje real final deal. Car window sticker was $32,390. , Dplan $29,649.= $2741. dicount than you add sales tax off the $29,649.= $2075. and dealer cost. =$115. =$2190. So now you add $29,649.+2075.+115.= $33,799. - $3500. rebate = $30,299. than dealer cut me a check and finigled the paper = $2799. My cost out the door of $27,500. '13 SEL Larry Northern,In

Jordie, Turn signal lever should move easily. These are setup different than the older vehicles. When you push for right or left the lever will come back to center instead of staying in the position as other vehicles do. The previous owner may have damaged it somehow. This is NOT normal. Some dealers just don't want to mess with doing warranty work. If car was out of warranty they would be happy to fix it. $ 100.00 per hour labor plus parts. I will check with my Son to see if he has run across this problem. He is a Ford Tech. Very nice looking car. Hope you like it. I have a '13 SEL no problems yet. Knock on wood.lol Larry Northern,In

The dealers aren't supposed to do any dealing when someone uses a ford employee plan. I used the D plan for a '13 SEL. I haggled for about three days. Turns out the dealer cut me a check to make the deal we agreed to. Car Window sticker was $32,390.00 Drove the car off the lot for $27,500.00 This included sales tax and dealer charges. All said and done $ 4890.00 off sticker. I didn't price a limited but $10,000.00 for a few more options seems a little high. Larry Northern,In

Sounds like you got a car with problems, which no doubt upset you. Understandably.. Every manufacturer has a problem vehicle once in awhile. These problems will very likly be fixed. How long have you had this car?? You say you will never buy a Ford again? Well if you plan on buying an Import your not keeping our $$$$$ in the USA. People have told me the reason they buy imports is because they have NO problems, last forever. These folks say this for an excuse because they bought foreign. These vehicles have the same or more problems than Ford,GM or Chrysler. Myself I would have to wear a mask so no one would recognize me if I drove a foreign vehicle. I've had vehicles with problems that got me very upset. But I've never concidered not to buy American. I know the edge is built in Canada. I don't concider Canada as a Country out to break us. I imagine Ford in Canada is UAW union. Just my two cents. Larry Northern,Indiana

Edgieguy, What I was asking is where you got the information how to display the enchanced info in your display center? Hours running, gallons used, time at idle etc. Thanks Larry Northern,In

Sounds like a anti-lock brake problem? Possible rotor? Due you or other drivers brake heavy or ride the brake pedal? If so you may have a slightly warped rotor? Don't take offense, just a thought.. Larry Northern,In

which forum is the display info in? Does it matter what model Edge it is?? Thanks Larry Northern,In

We got a FWD. Averageing 24MPG now. Not much city driving. We live in the county so county roads and two lane highways. Weather has warmed up. I don't check the mileage in cold weather. Takes more power/fuel to get cold parts moving. I know when we first got ours I played with the gadgets while idling that sure knocks the heck out of the average. I leave ours on instant mileage of the time. Have to see what happens this summer when we take a road trip. I sold a 2004 Ford Freestar minivan when I bought the edge. It averaged 23.8 / 24.3 on every trip we took. Sure want the edge to do better than that.. Larry Northern,In

Shaman, Is the $32,000 before or after sales tax?? If after not too bad. In Indiana sales tax would add $2240. to the price. = $34,240 not good.. Just being snoppy. Larry Northern,In

Have you driven a edge very much?? Very firm ride. Handles good. Plenty of power. I'm averaging around 22-24 MPG. Do very little city driving. Most county roads and two lane highways with slowing, turning etc. We're planning on going to the Smoky Mountains this spring /summer fro there to Pensacola Florida. That should be a good MPG test. Leave northern Indiana, down through Cinncinnati Ohio, Gatlinburg Tennessee across to Cherokee North Carolina then over to Pensacola. Why do you need AWD?? Snow?????
-
Is $32,000 the out the door price??? Seems thier asking toooooo much for no more than you're getting. You're adding leather and power lift gate costing you $ 4,500.00 more than I paid. Mine is the standard SEL. Larry Northern,In

Shaman, I'm not sure gives the best employee plan X or D You must be eligible for X only ?? According to Ford's rules, the dealer isn't allowed to haggle after using a employee plan. BUT !!! If you haggle hard enough the dealer will write you a check to make your cost lower but still show ford the numbers they need to see. My dealer wrote me a check for $845.00 After D plan ford rebates and $845. The car cost me $ 27,500.00 this price included sales tax, dealer cost. Final out of my pocket. $27,500.00 I didn't see the 204A package in the build your edge site, Found the north county link below might help with your dealings. Doesn't sound like you are getting too bad of a price. Claa around, if you haven't already. Any dealer has to tell you what the ford employee plan price is. I dealt with two dealers that tried playing THE game. You know what I mean.. I walked out. They called me, tried to make amends, just couldn't beat the price I paid. If you have the Vin # , Go to http://www.researchmaniacs.com/VIN-Number-Lookup/WindowSticker/Ford.html http://www.north-county-ford.com/carresearch/VehicleQuickQuoteFormThin.html/year_2013/make_Ford/model_Edge/trim_SEL/id_24291/confid_northcountyford/section_Options/ Larry Northern,In 7% sales tax here

Larry replied to Larry's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
What do you think of KIWI fabric protector ( blue cap ) No silicone. -
Go to build your ford edge site. Build your car.http://bp3.ford.com/2013-Ford-Edge#/ChooseYourPath/ That will give you the window sticker price less dealer cost and taxes. I paid $27,500.00 for our SEL out the door price. This included taxes, dealer cost $115.00 We got the 200A package, cloth seats. etc. We also got the Ruby Red. $395.00 extra. Larry Northern,In

Has anyone used fabric protector on their cloth seats? I was thinking about using KiWi Camp Dry Fabric protector ( no silicone) also not the waterprooofing kiwi. I haven't heard too much good about Scotch Gard though it's been around for a long time. Any thoughts?????? Larry Northern,In

Kitulu, Never heard of nightshades paint. Where do you buy it? Thanks Larry Northern,In

I posted pics of sensor removal. Sorry about the blur. I used a small paint can lid to hold sensor to paint. Put small piece of paper towel in lid to steady senser. Larry Northern,In
-
The unit will pop out if you push the end clips in with a thin small flat blade screwdriver. Slide screwdriver under either left or right side of sensor get one side up, push other side clip in. Pull sensor up a few inches, disconnect wire. Just squeeze clip. Larry Northern,In

Ford Edge... Keep your $$$$$$$ in America -
Hi, Only had our 2013 edge SEL since Feb.8, 2013. Car was built Jan. 2013. Have 1200 miles on it. I think it will be a all around good vehicle. It does have a couple SMALL issues I don't care for. One the wipers are a engineering screw up. Whan in a light mist/rain with wipers on low intermitant the left wiper throws water all over the right side on the down stroke. Doesn't hurt anything but could have been engineered better. Does have very firm ride, OK on highway. Wheels could have been set in about an inch inside the fender wells. Tires throw dirt-slush etc. on the sides of the car. ( I figure the wheel stance is for safety ) and the rear of the car gets dirty tooooo darn fast. Don't know if it comes from under or because of the air foil on the back. I had a Freestar van before buying the edge, lift gate didn't seem to get as much dirt on it.. I bought this car under the D plan. My Son works at a Ford dealership. I was told that the selling dealer couldn't haggle if if using one of the ford plans. The dealer we purchased from couldn't take anymore of the price. What they did was write me a check to come up with our final out the door price. I was told buy several people that I did OK. $27,500.00 out the door. Window sticker was $32,390.00 - D plan = $29,449.00 + 7% tax= $31,509.00 + $115.00 dealer charges = $31,624.00 after a couple days of haggling out the door final cost $27,500.00 Larry Northern,Indiana

The picture that I posted was before I installed window ventvisors and front slash guards. May remove the slash guards as I don't see where the help that much. Larry Northern,In
