Come On Ford, Give Me A Break!!!!
All Hat No Cattle replied to All Hat No Cattle's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
Yeah, both my salesman and I thought that the AS problem was the reason for the hold-up. He looked up all the Titaniums ordered in town, and only the units with AS were on hold. Probably ran out of parts due to warranty work, but they seem to have the parts now. Getting updates on TSB's, known problems, etc. is the reason I like these forums. BTW, what little work I've had done at Ford Country, on my 2010 Lariat, (recalls and maintenance) have been done with no problems. I just did an oil change service a couple of weeks ago on my 2016 and the guy in charge of that e-mailed me to make sure I had no complaints. But you still have to watch them, people make mistakes. -
Second gen. Edge - Line item option delete?
All Hat No Cattle replied to Chipster's topic in 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II
There is no rational reason for throwing a box of rubber mats into the back of an Edge when a customer has no use for them, other than to scrounge a few bucks out of the customer. I own 6,000 shares of Ford stock, but I still believe in putting the needs of the customer first. If someone can give me a rational reason why they bundled a heated steering wheel with cheap rubber mats, other than making a few bucks, I'm ready to listen. And this is from someone that has a 2016 F-150 Platinum, that came with a heated steering wheel and no rubber mats. -

We'll see what happens next week, and if ETIS spits out a Build Date. -
OK, I'm not the Forum Police, but you will find more answers to your technical questions in the more appropriate forums, not in the Welcome Forum. Like in the 2013 discussion forum, you would find the info below. Come On Ford, Give Me A Break!!!!

Well, got my weekly update from my salesman today, hope he is correct. I'm posting these weekly updates so other folks that have vehicles on order, and don't get updates like these, should ask their salesman, Why Not? We'll see when it gets on the train. -
Try this. http://www.homelink.com/ford Mr. Google is your friend. I think I would have asked him for info after the first 10 fails. And plenty more info is available. I had to do that when I was programming a 3rd fob on my F-150. The manual was not 100% accurate.

Adaptive steering fault
All Hat No Cattle replied to Sean Jones's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
Well, I just found out about this Adaptive Steering thread by accident today. The only reason that I am on this forum is because I have a '17 Edge Titanium on order, and it is being held up by the Driver's Package availability, meaning probably because of the Adaptive Steering problems that people are having using up all the parts. From my salesman, Mar. 3. Now some good news. :) My salesman was at a 2017 Superduty Road Show, for dealers only, in Phoenix recently, and he is raving about how great the AS worked on the Superduty. They had a laid out course to try out the Ford, and also had competitive Chevy and Ram trucks to compare with the Ford. The vehicles were all fully instrumented to measure performance parameters and compare them. What he found out was, that to cover the course, the competition had to turn their steering wheels 11+ something turns, and the SD did the same course with 8+ something turns. They had it down to the decimal point. He said you really noticed the difference going from truck to truck. So the point of this long-winded post is to say that we should hang in there till this is sorted out, because it does work and well. Even though it is my wife's Edge, I'm looking forward to trying out that AS. -

So this explains why the cancelled Titanium I ordered Nov. 4, and built Feb. 23 (ETIS), is still in Oakville. Update today on the re-order. Maybe something to do with the airbag recall. -

All Hat No Cattle replied to Chipster's topic in 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II
So if Ford lost $200-250+- on you, by not having the heated wheel as a stand-alone option, and the same on me, it makes me wonder how many other people feel the same way. Hmmm. Off topic, have you heard anything up there about the cause of some delay on Titaniums? -

All Hat No Cattle replied to Chipster's topic in 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II
Well, Ford lost a few bucks in the way they did the Cold Weather package on the Titanium we have on order. My wife likes the heated steering wheel I have on my '16 F-150 Platty. But when she saw that you also get All Weather Floor Mats in the package, she said no way. Why pay for something that would go straight into the recycle bin? Her words, just on general principles. We live in Las Vegas, and she wanted the heated wheel for those chilly 40° mornings in the dead of winter. But snow and rain mats? LOL,LOL,LOL. -
2016 and 2017 Recall
All Hat No Cattle replied to blockisle9's topic in 2015+ Edge & MKX Generation II
I believe it covers the higher end Edge vehicles, Titanium definitely, Sport, maybe. According to my salesman, SE and SEL current models are not on hold, he looked it up out of curiosity, while I was there ordering my second Edge on Mar. 1. I gave him my just released window sticker, and said that I want that, with a Ceramic interior. My Titanium, with the wrong interior, was on a factory hold. The window sticker for it says Feb. 15, 2017. My 4+ month-long wait story is up in the Buying, Leasing and Ordering thread. -

Ordered March 1, got this e-mail today, March 6. I guess some salesmen are just better at keeping their customers informed than others. Maybe that is why his signature is what it is. -

Excellent advice. Dealer 2 does it automatically, Dealer 1 did not. The first attachment shows the new order that Dealer 2 had me sign, my name and sig are removed. But the check marks are mine. Be that as it may, the second attachment is a copy of what I gave Dealer 1. Straight from the order guide, they still had their copy in the file. Would you have ordered an Ebony interior after reading that? I also provided them with my build and price printout, which was also correct. But you are correct, you have to double and triple check the paperwork at the dealer because people make mistakes. My other squawk was that Ford put out the VIN well before the build date, see Post 1, but did not put out the window sticker until after the build date. There was an opportunity to correct the mistake before the build. If you have generated a VIN, I would assume that you could generate a window sticker before you build it. Dealer 1 is Gaudin Ford. I didn't get mad at them, the ordering guy just input the wrong code. The salesman said "mistakes were made". But they did offer me a refund, or a "smoking hot deal" on the black interior or a re-order. Dealer #2 is Ford Country, they are closest to me. But back in November, Gaudin was having an in-house promotion on Edges, and they were $500 lower than Ford Country. Now, Ford Country was willing to lock in the rebates, and Gaudin said they could not. So between X-Plan, a $100 Doc Fee, and $3,600 in rebates, I'm almost getting as nice a deal as you got. Ignore the $699 Security System charge, they put that in automatically for the vehicles that come with minimal security. I deleted it already. The window sticker is for the one still in Canada. Luckily, my wife has a 2007 Caddy SRX with 55,000 miles on it, so we are under no pressure. Except it was supposed to be a January birthday present. Oh, well, LOL. Order002.pdf windowsticker.pdf -
Come On Ford, Give Me A Break!!!!
All Hat No Cattle replied to All Hat No Cattle's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
If anyone cares, I was at my 2nd Ford dealer today to order another 2017 Edge Titanium. I ordered another because the one I ordered Nov. 4 is still sitting at the factory. But since Ford finally released the window sticker after almost 4 months, I was able to read on the sticker that the Ceramic interior I ordered mysteriously changed to Ebony. I don't care if that Edge never leaves Canada. Dealer 1 screwed up the order when their order guy punched in the wrong interior code. Like my salesman said, "mistakes were made". So the salesman at Dealer 2 is very experienced, salesman of the year for 2014, 15 and 16. He was able to track down the factory hold, and we found that there is a hold on the Titanium steering wheel airbag, and we think it only affects the Adaptive Steering wheels. So if you have a Titanium on order with the Driver's Package option, don't be surprised by the longer wait. I don't know if it affects the Sport. The only bright side to this is that Ford just came out with new incentives, and I now have $3,600 in rebates locked in. -

OK, fair enough. So what does the build date below, from Etis, indicate? -
So on Nov. 4, I ordered a 2017 Edge Titanium, and yesterday the dealer called and gave me the VIN number. Whoopee! When I ran it through my VIN Decoder, this is what it shows up as: So, to get some more details, and maybe a build week, I ran it thru Ford ETIS, and this is what I got: The only thought I had that I can print here is WTF? I did the same thing on my 2016 F-150 in February, and ETIS worked perfectly. If you have not used ETIS go here and take a look. https://www.etis.ford.com/home.do So if Ford monitors this thread, can you give me an explanation as to what is going on?

Very happy. The wife has a 2007 Caddy SRX now, and I made the mistake of letting her drive the truck coming back from San Francisco. Now she wants all the tech stuff that the truck has in her Edge, Adaptive CC, BLIS, etc. She's not totally happy that the Edge won't have the massaging seats like the truck. So I tell her that sometimes, life is hard, LOL. The truck is from Ford Country, the Edge is ordered at Gaudin. Gaudin promised to lock in incentives on Nov. 4, and I have a final price. But a deal is not done until money changes hands, so who knows. At the worst, I have an X-Plan PIN, so that is my default price. I'm going to Gaudin tomorrow to cash in my $50 Ford gift card offer from the November Auto Show, and test drive a 2017 F-150 with the 10 speed tranny. Hope to have some more delivery info now that the holidays are over. We'll see. BTW, the dealers have an internal search engine from Ford that we can't access. They can even look up what dealers have on order.

I always order, because I have never been able to find the exact colors and configuration that I want in dealer stock, and I've tried. I gave the configuration below to Ford Country and Gaudin for a 2016, and they both did a 300 mile search and came up dry, both in stock or ordered by other dealers. The main holdup was the Driver's Package. Search all 4 dealers in town today and try to find a Drivers Package in an AWD Titanium, never mind the colors my wife chose. In November there was not a single 2016 Edge of any model with the DP in town. So I ordered. I wanted a 2016 F-150 loaded Platinum with RR paint and Brunello interior, and no moon roof, last January. So I ordered, took 8 weeks order to delivery. Why I am so fussy does not matter, LOL, I just don't compromise any more. BTW, of course the Titanium does have the Pano Roof, but it is for the wife and she loves it. So.... 2017 Ford Edge Titanium K4K- Titanium All-Wheel Drive 999/446- 2.0L Turbo 302A- Equipment Group RR- Ruby Red Metallic PC- Ceramic Perforated Leather 51D- Driver's Package 60A- Cargo Accessory Package

Yeah, that Doc Fee is essentially pure profit. They should just call it the Extra Profit Fee If you want to hear some double-talk, ask the dealer exactly what you get for that $499. And compare that to what you got from your private seller, without the Doc Fee. Nothing. Now if my 2017 Titanium, ordered Nov. 4, ever shows up I'll be happy.

2017 Ford Edge Production Information

Well, the 2017 Edge Build website is up and running. It also looks like they have a new labor agreement for Ford Canada. http://www.wsj.com/articles/ford-faces-midnight-deadline-in-canadian-labor-talks-1477935651 I wonder what this means below?
