  1. My Post #27 has the 2017 Edge Order Guide dated August 17, 2016. This is the most recent 2017 Edge Guide, dated Oct. 1, 2016. Can you spot the changes? Hint: 2017 Edge 10-1 Order Guide.pdf
  2. I would want to be able to kill the cargo area lights when I go camping, and forget something in the back. Opening the hatch and having the lights come on will ruin your night vision for a while. A flashlight does not do that.
  3. Do you have an order form in your hands, like the one I attached, with the 2017 Ford Edge info filled in? The only things I blanked out were my name and personal info. Thanks.
  4. Looks like I'll have to answer my own question. No. Even though I tried, and no matter what the order bank schedule is. The pic is of an order we worked on Tuesday, for a 2017 Edge Titanium. The numbers are for an X-Plan deal, thus the $100 Doc Fee. I erased my personal stuff, but if you notice that the vehicle particulars are blank, it is because they have no way of getting the info from Ford. I was looking over the shoulder of the 2014 and 2015 Salesman of the Year (experienced), and every time he tried to get 2017 prices and info from Ford, he got a blank page. Because of X-Plan they were willing to do 2016 pricing if I signed. So, being skeptical concerning dealers, I went to the second largest dealer in the area. It gets even worse. And both dealers know a 2016 is out of the question, because there is not a single Ruby Red/Ceramic Titanium AWD with the Driver's Package within 300 miles. So, if you are trying to order a 2017 Edge with some notion of when it is going to be built, good luck.
  5. The quote is from Post #50, above, from a Canadian poster. I'm in Las Vegas, working with 2 dealers, and get the same explanation. So I have 2 questions: Why would 3 different dealers be "either ignorant or lying"? Has anyone in the United States actually placed an order on a 2017 Edge, and has the paperwork confirming the order? Anyone???
  6. I'm sure that someone, somewhere in the Ford organization, knows what the 16/17 production schedule actually is. But they don't want to share it with us, or the dealers. This is just a guess, but if they are still accepting '16 orders, they won't be able to schedule '17 orders until they know exactly how many '16s they have to build, and if they have '16 parts to use up. Since I will probably use X-Plan to buy my '17, I may as well wait for it. They did this same nonsense when they switched over from the '14 to the new model '15.
  7. I posted this on Blue Oval also. OK, so the Order Banks are open, and the dealers supposedly have the 2017 pricing. But when I talk to two of my local (Large) dealers, I get a lot of vagueness as to when the order will actually go in and definite pricing. So, my question is, has anyone on or near the Pacific coast actually placed an order on a 2017 Edge, and has the paperwork confirming the order? Thanks.
  8. Well, better late than never. 2017 Edge Order Guide.pdf
  9. When I was buying my F150 manual, I got into an e-mail conversation with the owner. You can do exactly what he does on your own, if you know how to do it and want to spend the time, LOL. He bought a 3-day access to the Ford Service Manual website in my name for about $20. I know this because Ford sent me the receipt, posted below. Then his people download every page of the manuals that apply to your VIN, and have software that saves it all as a PDF. That way you don't have to spend 8 hours downloading, like Beezz did, LOL. Then they send you a link to the PDF, and you download it. Probably because the PDF is too big for an E-mail Well worth the $70, which included the $21.95 to Ford. I'm only promoting the site because I hope it stays in business until I get my 2017 Edge Vin #.
  10. Carr 142 is correct. More details are in a post below. The F150 guys love it, my PDF manual for my '16 F-150 is 10,800 pages, and it is VIN specific. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/20434-edge-shop-manuals/
  11. Anyone have any idea when the 2017 Edge Order Guide will come out? Supposedly the order desk opens Aug. 15.
  12. Evolved? Evolved? You, sir, have taken detailing to a whole other level !!
  13. You are correct. That might be because the 2017 is going to look exactly the same as the 16, and Ford is saving money on photography costs. They have until 08-15-16 to make changes. http://www.fleet.ford.com/edms/content?chronicleId=0900cad9802d86ea
  14. This 2017 Fleet Preview Guide shows the 2017 Edge specs. Scroll down the page. http://www.fleet.ford.com/orders/brochures/
  15. I'm getting serious about a new Edge or MKX , again, LOL, and came across this thread. Hopefully, you have found out by now, but the MKX does have the digital speedo. Page 115 of the 2016 MKX owners manual. Trip 1 & 2 Trip Timer Trip Odometer Average Fuel Economy Digital Speedometer Press and hold OK to reset the currently displayed trip information. • Trip Timer— Timer stops when you switch off the vehicle and restarts when you restart the vehicle. • Trip odometer — Shows the accumulated trip distance. • Average fuel economy — Shows the average fuel economy for a given trip. • Digital speedometer — Shows the current vehicle speed. Appears in the center of the speedometer gauge. Fuel Economy Use the left or right arrow buttons to choose the desired fuel economy display. 115 MKX (CD9) Canada/United States of America, enUSA, ASO/OGC Review Information Displays
  16. This is probably not the best place to post this, but I could not figure out what the best place was. Mods, fell free to move. Anyway, I came upon this legitimate source for factory shop manuals. I just bought a 2016 F-150 Platinum, and there was a thread on manuals, so I bit. Great manual, over 8,700 pages, including electrical schematics. What this company does is open a 3-day subscription from Motorcraft Technical Services in your name, and then they pull out all the VIN specific info that pertains to your vehicle. I imagine that you could do the same manually, but skimming thru a million pages to find your specific pages would take a while. I suspect that they have a program to do it, because it takes them at least a day to make the download. I paid with Paypal, so you do have some recourse if there is a problem. I had none. So, check it out, see what you think. https://www.factory-manuals.com/ford-28 Here is where they talk about it on the F-150 forum. http://www.f150forum.com/f118/repair-manual-haynes-chilton-ford-329736/
  17. Just some technical info, if it applies to the filter you are considering. http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/kn-vs-oem-filter.html
  18. If the loudness of the turn signal bothered me that much, I would track down the location of the noisemaker and put some appropriate insulating material around it.
  19. As someone who has subscribed to CR for over 40 years straight, I think some people are missing the point. If CR says that an American vehicle is good enough to "Recommend", you can be sure that it is REALLY good overall. But if you do not read CR regularly, you are simply not informed as to what they do. For instance, in the same April Auto Issue I mentioned above, out of 7 Infiniti models only 1 is recommended, while out of 14 Ford models, 5 are recommended. Buick? 4 out of 7 recommended. BMW ? 4 out of 13 recommended. And Land Rover? Zero for 5. Nissan? 3 out of 15. So CR is obviously prejudiced. But against whom?
  20. This is from the CR 2016 April Annual Auto Issue. Both the Edge and the F-150 were recommended, with the F-150 being the top truck. That is why I just picked up my 2016 Platinum. Now if they would start to get an Edge assortment of Titaniums at our dealers... Don't ask me why the same pic comes up twice.

  22. Just for the sake of accuracy , my 2010 Lariat was the last year for the 5.4. In 2011 the 3.5 Eco and the 5.0 NA were introduced into the F-150. So, yes, the 3.5 Eco was put into service in late 2010, but not in the 2010 trucks.
  23. Well, actually that may not be true. Not actually having a 2015 Edge (glad I waited, thank you, forum ) I can't speak directly to the 2015 Edge seat cooling efficiency. But, after owning a 2003 Eddie Bauer Expedition, and now a 2010 F-150 Lariat, both with cooled front seats, I can verify that the cooling mode works very well on those seats. In Las Vegas, where it can easily hit 110° regularly. Ford engineers know how to heat and cool front seats, they could do it correctly in 2003 and 2010. I would love to ask the appropriate Ford engineers one question today. WTF are you guys doing? I can assure you that when I test drive a 2016 Edge and F-150, my laser thermometer will be with me, on a nice warm day. Sad that I have to do that in this day and age.
  24. Just a suggestion, but would cleaning the back window with an anti-static glass spray maybe keep the dust from sticking? Like computer screen spray or this stuff? https://gokimco.com/acl-8670-esd-safe-plastics-and-glass-cleaner-spray-15oz.html?gdftrk=gdfV216652_a_7c4467_a_7c16566_a_7cAC8670&gclid=COa98anmpMkCFRRgfgodzwwEOQ
