  1. I too had big reserves about the 4 banger. Damn, every day I am AMAZED at that little beauty on my 2016 Titanium. It moves right along and has a nice sound. A 6 is no longer necessary for me!
  2. There is just no excuse for this Ford! You used to own Volvo, where the seats are WAY better!
  3. I have a 2016 Titanium. The seats are the worst I have ever sat in. A class action suit is in order here. That metal bar, the flat bolsters, the narrow width, the too high sides and truly crap ass "leather" combine to make a seat that is a true EPIC FAIL in every possible way. The cooling never worked at all. I cannot speak to the heat because I had to buy a $2000 cushion just to be able to use the car. I like so much about this car but the seat is the reason I will not keep it. THESE SEATS SUCK HARD!
  4. Beautiful ride! I would love to try those seats as the Titanium I have has seats made by the devil. I THINK the gas cap locks when you lock the car. I love that feature!
  5. You sir, are absolutely correct. I have this same issue and it has made me insane. These are seats from hell. I had to buy a 200 cushion just to be able to drive the car. Way less than ideal as it raises me too high. Good tip about the heat. I tend to use that less than usual due to I could never feel it under the cushion. These seats are shamefully designed. The cooling sucks had and does not work even a little bit. I had my little 89 pound niece sit on these and even she noticed that damn bar. I had a six 5 skinny friend sit in them and same thing. I am basically average. I really got to get to an upholsterer but with about 6 months to go on the lease, kind of too late. I wish I had gotten the SEL. Not great seats, but way better. BUt some features of the T were must have for me. I would have liked to seen a class action suit over these seats. Next week, I open up and tell how I really feel!
  6. I got the software/clock spring replacement fix. There have been no issues that I know of since the fix. It appears to be OK. But I got this just on the cusp when the standard fix became a wheel replacement. I am a bit nervous that Maybe I should have gotten that fix. If it had been another week or two I would have had the knowledge of it (new wheel) being a default fix and would have insisted upon it. I wish everyone well who has had this issue. If anyone else got the clock spring repair and is having any further issues, I would be most grateful to hear from you.
  7. Roger that. Thanks for the clarity. I get it. It is a Takata thing, not a Ford thing. I now hate Takata 18 times more than I did before
  8. We think precisely alike. I hate everything about that company. Because of them, I will most likely not be buying another Ford. Sucks.
  9. Super good tip. Thanks. I am going to check my paperwork.
  10. Excellent! May you have smooth and safe driving from now on
  11. Excellent! So now all works, even the "adaptive" part?
  12. Yup. Precisely. I did not even want that poorly designed and implemented POS in my car. Being an optimist, I look at it as the first step to a proper redesign of that entire panel.
  13. This sounds good. I would love to have my heated wheel on by default
  14. I am going to check mine. I did notice a few little changes in the dashboard, but am going to check to see if the vertical tach is gone. That thing was dumber than a box of rocks to begin with, so good riddance I hope I hope all get this issue resolved soon.
  15. I truly feel your pain. This issue is a bitch. Factor that in with a less than honest dealer and it really sucks. My repair, clock spring and modules has been good. Still, there is always that nagging "Will it happen again? Now? Now? tomorrow?" type of feeling that I never had with a new car before. I would like to see Ford stuck with some buy backs due to this. They should have tested more and used a better supplier. And all this for a feature that almost no one really cares about. Best of luck, keep us posted please.
  16. Oh I see! Light dawns on marble head This quote is, well, inaccurate to be polite, and a total load of BS. "Steering wheels are a whole other matter — and there have been no insinuations of any widespread defects in them or the other parts that Takata makes." Overall, just makes me feel that I made the wrong decision. Ouch.
  17. Other than an absurdly complex and unnecessary "feature" what was it about that video that shows what the exact problem is? If I had known more about this "feature" I wold not have bought this car. I hate over-engineered beta 1.0 crap features. Easy to see why all that crap in there could cause the clicking that I have mentioned in above posts. What the hell was Ford thinking?
  18. Yes, makes it easier to lean over to open the passenger door
  19. Wait. I am busy. Let me finish rolling down my window, adjusting my clutch and pushing the button on my radio to get the right station... there! All done except for refurbishing my drum style brakes. OK, now I am done. Sure, you can call me that
  20. I still think there is a good reason for a moderate break in period. Old school.
  21. I drove mine until it got fixed. Just local around town at slower speeds. Not ideal, but although I was hyper aware, I did not feel unsafe. But still, I would insist on a loaner if it happened again. Glad you are getting the full replacement. I got the "other" fix which was some complicated bunch of module replacements, etc etc etc.
  22. No, but I just have nothing to say about it. It is the way better option between the two for sure. Let's say you just bought the car. And let's say you want to keep the rev's under 4k for the first month. THAT is one BIG reason for a tach in automatic. And if you wanted to actually be somewhat accurate during this time, would anyone actually try to accomplish this with the vertical? I doubt it.
  23. You can keep saying that all l you want. But studies have been done, and that pathetic vertical tach is a disaster at disseminating the information it is supposed to convey. You can deny science all you want but that does not make it so. Liking it or not liking it is a personal preference. But does it do its job? That is science.
