  1. So I learn a little something every day. Most of the magazines I read show the paddles being used on tracks and the like. Plus I had a friend that used them regularly in a fusion. Never thought about using it on a hill. I suppose if it were used sporadically it'd be fine but I don't have any experience with them in any other vehicle so my opinion doesn't carry much weight. In a nutshell it doesn't shift as smooth as I would expect when using the paddles. That would probably work fine for what you're doing. I work in the body shop at an assembly plant for Ford Motor Company and it really bothers me that they can't get the transmissions (in some vehicles) to work as well as anybody else's. If Kia can do it why can't we? ?
  2. So I tried the paddle shifting in sport mode and while it's a little funny, it's irrelevant to us as we don't ever use the paddles. If I want to shift for myself I have a 19 GT/CS with a 6-speed manual for that. ?
  3. I'll give it a shot though it won't be till tonight.
  4. Ours is still good. No complaints. We have the June update.
  5. I believe the biggest issue with bucking and low throttle response is Ford has the transmission trying to stay in too high of a gear. The turbo trys to build boost and the computer opens the waste gate to prevent high boost at low RPMs. Then it does it again. And again till you push harder and it finally downshifts and the program allows higher boost as the engine is spinning faster. Our 2015 Ford Edge sport never had this issue as the RPMs never stayed that low. Guarantee some of the tuners eliminated this problem by keeping the RPMs up a little.
  6. I really wish they would put out a program for all edges with the 2 L turbo engine like they have for the ST. The one they came out with in June fixed 99.9 percent of people's cars (ST's) with this issue. If I were a betting man I'd say they're working on the same thing for the two liter. They had put out several other programs to try to fix it before this latest one so maybe they're trying to avoid that and go with a real fix once and for all. I work at Ford (build hoods, have nothing to do with this) and this embarrasses me. They make great vehicles but sometimes get in a rush releasing them or just don't put enough test miles on them. ?
  7. Yeah, I seen that. Not sure if they're doing anything about that transmission yet. I would think they are as there's quite a few people with issues. If I find out anything I'll post back.
  8. TSB 20-2190 issued in June '20 will likely fix most ST transmission issues that are software related. If you've not had this applied get it done. Tell them it is bucking and you have hard shifts and to apply TSB 20-2190.
  9. Same here. I'll get to it soon. I know with my Mustang the "new search" button when using USB is disabled while driving. It wasn't this way with 3.3..
  10. Everyone's getting it. It'll likely be available Monday or Tuesday.
  11. Just tried it for our 2019 ST and got "oops, something went wrong on our part". Installed it on my 2019 GT/CS this morning and it works good but.... during install it has to reboot 3x. On the 3rd time it'll tell you to remove the USB but will then go back to saying installing software update after it reboots. You have to remove it during that little window when it reboots or it'll get stuck in a loop and update / reboot for hours. Install time is only 30 minutes so go for a drive and remove it at the 3rd reboot. Otherwise I believe you can remove it at any of the reboots after that but I wouldn't just pull it when it says installing. Bet they're working on that and that's why it keeps saying oops. Should stop and prompt you to remove it and STAY on that prompt until you do.
  12. 19-2313 came out last year. 20-2190 just came out June 2, 2020.
  13. Ours has boost in all gears, at least according to the boost gauge.
  14. All I can say is my wife is finally satisfied with her ST. She hated it at first because of the transmission but now she's having the time of her life in it. To all those getting the TSB please give it a little time to ''settle in" as it resets the transmission learning tables.
  15. Get TSB # 19-2313. It was released mid Oct. The symptoms are much better.
  16. Just got ours done. Most of our issues were when she first starts the car but it definitely feels better. Tip in in sport mode is beastly and shifting in both modes is very smooth.
  17. Will do. I know when you get close my car has an audible warning along with a flashing light on the dash top. My sensitivity is set too high I'm sure. Curious if the edge as some sort of warning light on the dash before emergency braking starts?
  18. Since it only leaks when being driven perhaps it's a loose transmission coolant line.
  19. Curious if anyone's had to use it.. My '19 Mustang has it and it's worked when someone turned right in front of me while I was on (adaptive) cruise control. He slowed down to turn right and I knew I had plenty of distance but the car didn't think so . My wife's Edge St has it but she's had a few close calls and feels like it should have intervened.
  20. Speaking of fluid, since ours shifts rough mostly when cold, would a different/better maybe synthetic fluid help? It shifts much better when warmed up.
  21. The only thing holding us back on the tune is the warranty. It only has 900 miles on it. It may come to that though. I emailed them a few days ago to ask about what they do with the transmission and I haven't heard back from them yet.
  22. Thanks, Jamie1073. It's actually my wife's car. She had a 2015 Edge Sport and it shifted perfect. We thought it would be a nice upgrade but it feels like there's a lot more programming left to do on this one. Her biggest complaint is the shuddering caused (I'm guessing) by it being in way too high gear with any load. Going up a hill at 50mph it shook so bad I could see it in the tach. Sudden WOT causes a delay kind of like the gas pedal didn't send a signal. Funny, I also had a 2017 ST3, but recently traded for a 2019 Mustang GT California Special. 6-speed of course!
