Third Edge, but don't remember this problem before, but the last one did not have 401A. On my 2018 sport the sync (?) defaults on start-up to the nav screen, I live in "resume speed" Canada and we barely have roads, and other then the seasonal changes, my 7 km. commute never changes, so don't need the nav. How can I change the default screen to audio or climate, or if necessary shut of the Nav? Tried searching here and reading the manual makes my eyes glaze over. Thanks.

My lease on my 2016 Sport is expiring early spring 2019 so in typical anal Virgo behaviour I have over reacted and prematurely created stress for myself. The logistics of not having any dealers in my small town create problems with the lease return process and the arrangements for return transportation. As a new car / truck buying addict, and the recent purchase of a very expensive pickup truck, and by extrapolating the USA price into Canadian price (not available yet) it became very evident that unfortunately there is no possible way that I can afford a ST at this time. So I emailed the sales manager at the closest dealer with a list of possible options, including just turning the car in, buying the lease out, or as a replacement vehicle I mentioned some less expensive other makes that might work, and hinted about a new sport they had in stock. In typical sales manager style he thought the sport was the best option. Long story short, they took my 2016 and paid out the lease and discounted the sport by $ 9000.00 cdn with a manageable payment. Not a ST, but the next best possible alternative at this time, and as an addict this doesn't mean that once the hysteria (and price) of the ST introduction dies down in a couple of years that I can try again. (If my grown children don't have me committed.) Thanks for all your input and I will still visit. On a side note, on that trip home the only real noticeable difference in the two year variation is the cold air intake on hard acceleration is much louder, not sure it's faster, but sure sounds good to a old but not dead guy.

Yes, you are right, and I delete them whenever possible. But, do you know why they are there, because the world has so many bad drivers that the vehicle has to be programed to try and protect the stupid people from themselves. Why would we possibly need a lane departure warning system (with steering correction) if drivers could keep the car between the lines, and I see it every day.

I live in "resume speed" British Columbia (love it) and we used to have car dealers but not anymore, closest dealers are 100 miles away with the "big" three represented and VW but no Volvo, Audi, Acura, I would have to drive three hours to the big city for those and three hours back. So as VW will not make your Tiguan with the Golf R engine, for somewhat local service, I guess I am stuck with the big three? That's the price you pay to live in paradise ! So would you take the VW Tiguan R or the Edge ST?

So, as the owner of a poorly handling Sport that is coming off lease, I honestly and seriously would appreciate your advice and recommendation for a replacement vehicle (any make) that will give me the same or better performance at the same price as the ST ? Thanks.

As I understand the preliminary reporting on the skimpy details of the USA / Mexico trade agreement, and if the negotiated terms become the same with Canada, there will little to no difference as it was under NAFTA.

I have been thinking about this for a few days. (Probably should have keep on thinking). It will be whatever Ford wants it to be................and I am highly appreciative that they are building any "performance" vehicles. I would think that this is a very small market segment .........and the "what if" portion would be even smaller. And of course, it is about sales.

Thanks akirby, I thought I was losing it, and the older I get the closer that gets. In a "funny" way the non-availability of the 21 inch wheels with the 400A is a mixed blessing. I should not be looking at a new car, I just got a new pickup and my grown children are threatening intervention for spending their inheritance, so the only possible (?) way of doing this is as cheap as possible (so no 21 inch) and getting the same colour as my current car to try and trick my kids (but they are getting smarter).

......so after reading and re-reading the order guide, if a cheapskate like me that also has a expensive pickup to pay for, wanted to get a striped ST with 400A and no brake package it looks like the 21 inch wheel are not available, dio I read that right?

Thanks for posting. ....so do you (all) think that this might mean that; You can order a ST without 401A (because its a option) ? You can order a ST without the brake PACKAGE (because its a option) ? ....but can you still get the 21” gloss black wheels? (The Eagles were right, the sound of your own wheels will drive you crazy)

Still early I think. My Canadian dealer said that he thought it would be August order for September delivery,....... but that could change.

Full disclosure: I have a 2016 Edge Sport and I love it, big improvement over the Ti (?) I had. (Gutless pig) Sorry, but I must be getting old (oh, right I am) I just don’t get the point of all this. Many nice features and extras that the majority of drivers will seldom, if ever use. It sounds a lot like my nuclear button is bigger than yours! I understand having more power, better handling, etc but how critical is this in the big picture and more importantly in the consumers buying decision? Most BMW owners buy them for the snob appeal, I doubt that they will shop for a Edge ST no matter how comparable. I also doubt that a potential Edge ST purchaser would seriously consider a X3. Second disclosure: If I can swing the money I will be purchasing a ST, the item that closed the deal: Fog Lights (go figure).

My dealer (salesperson) called late this afternoon to say that my Sport had just arrived. 400A (because some technology is useless, I know when I am beside a snow bank or tall grass) Black, 21" black wheels, Nav & pano roof (dealer request for future resale value traded for two years free maintenance) , cold pkg, drivers pkg, 7 weeks 1 day from order, .......but it of course had to come all the way across Canada from that foreign country (Ontario).

Ah ha, now I get it. Hum, thought the cool seat bottom was all you got with A/C seats, never had them before. It is going to be a moot point for me as it turns out life and car ordering is a compromise anyhow. My ordered sport is a 400A package on purpose and one of the things I had to give up was cooled seats. Summer is just one month of poor dog sledding here anyway.

2015 here Ti...2016 Sport ordered. ..........What problem, .............what TSB, .............what fix ? Old people do need help.
