Canada only info;
So in the continuing saga of the quest for information about the Adaptive Steering option I contacted Ford Canada and got a reply that was about something completely different, ............so I tried again and got this answer;
Thank you for your reply, my name is Amy.
While all of the Edge vehicles are built in Canada they are built for 2 different markets, US and Canada. While we are both part of Ford Motor Company, each market will have their own standard features and options depending on the trim level.
Here in Canada the Adaptive Steering is part of the Driver’s Package along with the Adaptive Cruise control on the Titanium and is included on the Sport in with the equipment group 401A. It will not be available for the 400A equipment group of the Sport trim level.
The announcement that was made by Ford affects US vehicles, and the adaptive steering is standard, but since this is Canada and we retain the right to change the availability of packages for our market.
Thank you for contacting Ford of Canada.
Sincerely,
Amy Raszipovits Customer Relationship Centre Ford of Canada
I think that this means that you cannot have the Adaptive Steering with the Sport 400A package (Even though it is a standard no cost option on the USA Sport) just like you can not have the HID headlamps as a stand alone option, you have to get the 401A package with unwanted technology at $4500.00 cdn.
Life sucks but I will get over it!
