  1. .......never thought that I would ever say this, but..........................just lease and make it someone else problem!
  2. YES, when they start nickel and dime-ing (big ones) they just get bigger, and what a great excuse for a new car, I pour money down the new drain rather then the used one, more fun and the same results, the car companies win, you lose! .......Look at leasing?
  3. ............................it really doesn't take that long. (OH YEAH !)
  4. Ordered my Sport on April 4, paid deposit on Apr 8, got Vin after great difficulty on April 25, my salesperson had to go over the sales mangers head to the general manger to get it. Got the download of the window sticker TODAY, May 07. Not sure if I will know when built or shipped? ALL IS GOOD!
  5. Thanks for the data akirby, much appreciated. Communication with the sales manager at my dealership is not good, I think the salesmen is trying, but I had to ask many times and finally got a VIN, no window sticker yet though. Ordered the car on April 4, paid deposit on Apr 8, with your info I am encourage that I will have it by October 2016! This is the last time I am going to do a factory order, I will either buy from stock (any dealer) or a dealer transfer. Great way to earn dealership customer loyalty !
  6. In another life a long time ago (Ford Parts-man) Ford, for reason that only they knew, called some silvers "Argent". if that's any help. Yes, it is plastic and would be replaced as a unit, surprised that the dealer would not have told you that (OK, I'm really not). Try some close plastic (model ?) paint?
  7. So other than maybe posting in the wrong section, not that it is a big deal to me as I am still trying to understand a somewhat confusing site (but I'm old) .........you haven't said what size tires you have. I think that the 40 aspect ratio (is that the right word?) has a stiffer side wall than the 50 series tires.
  8. Maybe try lower the air pressure in the tires a bit or install springs and struts from a non-sport model? My 2015 Ti rides very nice ......and yet I have ordered a 2016 sport and will live happy with the ride.
  9. I am looking for a 2016 400A sport (not many) and had one dealer salesman tell me that production will be shut down early to tool up for the minor 2017 changes. I am unable to confirm this, as stop / start production dates are some kind of state secret, do you think it just might be possible that the salesman would tell a untruth? Any new info on when the end of 2016 orders? Thanks.
  10. Canada info only: In the Canadian Build and Price app the Titanium is still available in AWD (its winter here for 13 months of the year ya know) and of course the sport is only available in AWD. So one would have to guess that the AWD drive train is being requisitioned for the Canadian market, which is only fair, as the USA sport gets adaptive steering included on all sports models, we have to buy the 401A for $ 4500.00 cdn to get it. I will not begin to discuss the moving to New Brunswick movement, its all media crap anyway.
  11. So do you think that I should not order a 2016 Sport at all because to get HID headlights (in Canada) I have to buy the 401A package at $ 4500.00 cdn and get technology things that I don’t want and or just keep my 2015 Ti? No fun in that.
  12. Canada only info; So in the continuing saga of the quest for information about the Adaptive Steering option I contacted Ford Canada and got a reply that was about something completely different, ............so I tried again and got this answer; Thank you for your reply, my name is Amy. While all of the Edge vehicles are built in Canada they are built for 2 different markets, US and Canada. While we are both part of Ford Motor Company, each market will have their own standard features and options depending on the trim level. Here in Canada the Adaptive Steering is part of the Driver’s Package along with the Adaptive Cruise control on the Titanium and is included on the Sport in with the equipment group 401A. It will not be available for the 400A equipment group of the Sport trim level. The announcement that was made by Ford affects US vehicles, and the adaptive steering is standard, but since this is Canada and we retain the right to change the availability of packages for our market. Thank you for contacting Ford of Canada. Sincerely, Amy Raszipovits Customer Relationship Centre Ford of Canada I think that this means that you cannot have the Adaptive Steering with the Sport 400A package (Even though it is a standard no cost option on the USA Sport) just like you can not have the HID headlamps as a stand alone option, you have to get the 401A package with unwanted technology at $4500.00 cdn. Life sucks but I will get over it!
  13. Not easy to get, hope it posts. Some differences from USA info. Cannot find adaptive steering info for Canada on 400A, build your own still talking about the deleted drivers package. Nice site, great help, thanks all. Edge product changes canada (1).pdf
