  1. Congress didn't go far enough. Like I said. Big government. If I choose to not wear a seat belt it's my choice. I've been around six accidents in fifty plus years. One driving. Not once was I wearing a belt. The only time I wear one is racing. I won't blame anyone but myself if I ever pay the price. And I won't be looking for an attorneys phone number to cash a check. If you're that mentally challenged to need to be mandated to make a personal choice you should be sterilized.
  2. Tag you as another big government individual needing or sympathizing for those incapable or just plain to lazy to do what is their own responsibility. I would rather see all that money go into advancing electric engines so we can rely less on those petroleum products you mentioned, and breathing cleaner air. The thought process is totally upsidedown. Smh.......accountability has sadly left the building.

  6. Fast pace world? You make it what it is. So those single parent children that raise themselves and have a hand out and expectation because things are to fast paced? And how about the "anxiety time outs"? That part of that fast paced thing too? Like all these kids now in BT. If they get to stressed they have a red card to fly. That's going to serve them and their comrades real well under fire. Maybe we should just hand the keys over to the Russian's and Chinese and go fully subservient right now? I respect you're opinion. But it sounds like you're striking for a participation trophy as well. I know I'm over the top. But my perspective and opinion is from decades of reality at the top of the food chain. If "you" don't keep an eye on where came from and get to comfortable, "you" lose sight of reality. And sure as shit it will eventually come up behind you and bite you in the ass. We don't need tire pressure monitors in our cars. Period. Let your smart phone add an ap to handle it.

Spot on. Heat soak on this engine is a bad deal. I'm also a bit reluctant to use the KN ultra low protection paper and oil filters. Going hotter and with less protection is a frag waiting to happen.
  8. The filler cap has a yellow o ring that shouldn't ever need to be replaced unless it somehow becomes damaged. If this is the cars first oil change, its not totally unusual to find "manufacturing"' pieces in the oil pan. Hard to tell if they ever accumulate in the spin off filters. I'd take them to the local service manager for documentation considering your still under warranty. Its likely just excess gasket material.
  9. Did you do a weight comparison on the OE rotors and the Rays?
  10. Late to the party, but still here. While it may not be a cash grab, it fits perfectly into the common sense departure arriving in stupidity costing people lives/money. And then big brother steps in. TPSM are a joke, or a convenience for people to lazy to put a gauge on their tires periodically. For a century people got along without them. I think those involved in this "devolution" should all get a participation trophy and another hand out.
  11. Hey there fellow newb Louie! Just a personal comment on the,"worst thing is saving money" saying. If not for investing smartly at a young age and it literally paying dividends, I wouldn't be able to own outright two nice vehicles. Sad how we've somehow cultivated this culture of subsidy grabbers today. And they're so deeply ingrained that politicians face political suicide when aligning against them. Sorry for the rant!
  12. I actually like the OE Gen2 grill. If I wanted to see it like this mod I'd just look at my raptor. lol
  13. Do you mean the plastic engine cover? The only thing they do is keep the engine a bit cleaner and retain heat. I'll always take more cleaning than holding heat in my mechanical's. First thing that came off. It rode in the back of the car on the ten hour drive home.
  14. I live where half of my driving is on shitty dirt roads and winter is all snow and ice. This car is my go to winter vehicle. Hankook RW11 Ipikes with studs are the tires of choice. Wheels are 18x8 tires are 265x65. There is no rubbing even on hard cork screw cornering. and the tires fill the wheel wells. I opted for a smaller wheel so I could balance the harsh offroad conditions with a taller sidewall tire. Mission accomplished. The RW11 is really a tire that is speed rated, with a directional tread that will stand up to my high expectations when autocross calls my name. Or just the tight back road canyons in northern New England. And losing twenty pounds of rotational mass on each corner unleashed an agility this car deserves if you intend to realize the word sport in this car.
  15. Let me start by saying my car buying experience is not common to most. I have a great deal of knowledge regarding dealership operations. The hard thing for me is to find one that will work with me. Generally I deal with sales managers exclusively. I'm a cash buyer that may or may not have a trade. My recent experience with Parson's Ford of Martinsburg VA started off bumpy dealing with a salesman on the phone that obviously wasn't aware of how to handle my call. But after requesting the new car manager, I was quickly transferred to Ryan's voice mail. Ryan got back to me in short order. He was professional and courteous. In the matter of exchanging trade photo's and my price target as well as my information, after a dozen or so phone calls over the next few days an agreement was reached. As I expressed I would be making a ten plus hour drive,Ryan lightened my burden by arranging their sister dealership to receive me and deliver the car. Saving me two hours of drive time. Their receptionist was extremely friendly and courteous every time I called. In three decades plus of making deals like this, this was by far the best one I've had. The car was ready for me detailed without any surprises. Everyone knew I needed no special attention in the delivery. They asked me if I had any questions, and I was out of there in thirty minutes much to my pleasure. The only thing that took me that long was moving my personal stuff out of the trade into the new car. I would say it would be worth giving them a try. If something or someone goes south on you, Call on Ryan. I truly believe he's one of the few people today that will honestly listen and make things right if you have a problem. I'm a pretty good judge of character. Ryan is a stand up guy. I just wish the dealership was in my neck of the woods. I'd love to give their service and parts department a shot. GT
  16. I'd just like to chime in here on one thing. You could run another five pounds of boost and have no trouble with the OE IC as long as you help the breathing at both ends. Now if you were running a full day of track time, different story. That said, when my factory warranty is gone I'll be looking like you are now, and appreciating the leg work y'all are doing for us down the roaders. Subscribed.
  17. Hello all. Either I'm blind or nobody has cried about this yet? My Sony mp3 player,"I could swear", was able to shuffle all 20k songs on my way home after buying the car in Virginia. When I finally got home and was paying attention, up until now I've not been able to get it to do it again. I don't want to have to create sub files to shuffle various. Am I nuts or did the bean counters fail to carry this over from the previous two sync systems? Thanks! GT
  18. I welded a dual MRT axle back set up. No drone. Deep idle that's not obnoxious and turns heads WOT. dropped five pounds of baggage losing the unimuffler and am evacuating better. Very happy.
  19. Traded the GF's 12 MKX in on a loaded 14 titanium. Took it to Maine (1.5k mile RT) vacation. Liked it better than my 14 MKX. Found a new 16 sport and took advantage of July's mega rebates. Got 25.5 on trade, which was above and beyond. I think it was about 14k OTD with T&L with my trade. This will be my car when salt hits the road and my raptor hibernates. Thanks for the vine. GT
