Can you explain these or provide links? I've had trouble with sunroofs on my '93 Probe and my daughter's '99 Cougar but several other cars nothing to note. I've never seen anything on this forum that indicated we need special attention to the BAMR. But I am listening. And what is the "MacT website"?

Funny you mentioned the START/STOP feature. My wife's 2017 Edge was at the dealer and they gave us a 2019 while they worked on it. Right away she asked if I could get that "feetchur" turned off. I did.

I'll second the polarized sunglasses suggestion from @Gadgetq. My other car has a heads-up display and I need to crank the brightness but it still works with the glasses on. And reflections off the dash are gone.

A friend of mine was shopping for a new car and they selected the Outback rather than an Edge mostly on cost. And they are a Ford family.

I hope our Edge fares as well. Was there more you wanted to add after black sludge?

Just clicked past 16,000. That would be by far the least miles I've ever seen a wheel bearing fail. I've had a few, but near 100K, and never on a Ford.

Yep. It was the right front wheel bearing.

They are now ordering the right wheel bearing. At least they didn't need to keep the car.

My wife's 2017 recently started making strange noises in the front end. When you steered into a parking space and turned the wheel you could hear the rack making strange crunching noises. And above 50mph you could hear a hum that got louder and higher in frequency as you drove faster. To me it sounds like a wheel bearing. We brought it in to the local dealer and they diagnosed that as two separate problems. They replaced the steering rack and that problem is resolved. But for the hum they told us it was the PTU and they replaced that as well. But that didn't resolve the hum at all. In fact it is so obvious I suspect they didn't take it on the highway after replacing the PTU (the dealership is about 1/4 mile from a 65mph highway). It is funny that whichever seat you are in the front it seems to come from that side. It still sounds like a wheel bearing. Anyone here have a similar issue and it was not the PTU? Could it be the transmission?

call me fickle - why "they" win

Actually going back to the original post a lot has changed in the Edge. It now has many of those missing features and more. And Sync is greatly improved. -
I actually got the new tire at the dealer, and I was hoping I could persuade them to cut me a deal because of the failure but no such luck. They actually blamed it on an impact, but my wife claims nothing like that occurred, and there was no rim damage. The dealer price was $5 more than TireRack+NTB. And no I did not hold onto the tire. I did check out the other three, but thanks for the advice.

LOL! Fast-forward. Our Edge needed a new tire last month not covered under warranty. My daughter still loves her Highlander. My son has taken his Pilot back to the dealer multiple times and he is now considering legal action under the New York lemon law. As they say, "your mileage may vary". -

I'm pretty sure every new car has it now as required by law. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backup_camera -
We just had a new tire installed on my wife's Edge with only 14K miles on it. The tire failed in a way I have never seen before. It developed a bubble on the sidewall. The dealer claimed that we hit something to cause the damage, but: 1) the wife claims she never hit anything to cause it. 2) there was zero rim damage and 3) no evidence the outside of the tire was impacted. Nevertheless the Pirelli warranty is 12 months and we've owned the car for 13 months (sigh). So $220 later we have a new tire. I am just happy I noticed this before it completely failed. Just by coincidence I decided to wash it and when I started washing that wheel there was a holy $hit moment.

I had Pirelli P-Zeros on my Camaro, and if they had this feature it didn't help me. I have BFG on that car now so I can't say. Our 2017 Edge has Pirelli Scorpion Verde that do not appear to have this feature, though the rim is maybe 1/4" recessed from the tire.

Wow, such passion. I've driven a Sorrento for a few hundred miles and sorry, but there is no comparison. >>Competition is always good for the consumer No argument there. Both of my kids opted for a 3 row car. We have no need of that. Our previous vehicle was a Ford Escape, which never needed service. I don't know how a Japanese/Korean vehicle can beat that. -
Love all of these!

A 17 Titanium. A darned near perfect vehicle, but if I had to pick one thing it is the lighting in the cargo area. One stupid light, down low on the right! Sheesh. As soon as you load basically anything you have no light. But I fixed that adding two LEDs on the tailgate.

I have a Camaro RS. Son has a Mustang GT. Son-in-law has a Camaro SS. I don't need to convince them about American cars. And funny, but our Edge was built about 100 miles from where my Camaro was assembled - both near Toronto in Ontario. So both are (North) American cars.
