  1. I just had a Draw Tite installed on my 2017 Titanium and the "kick to open" works just fine.
  2. I've been having a problem with the Sync System changing modes by itself. I use Carplay so with my iphone connected, I press the Ford Sync button, then Audio and will select FM and an HD preset. I'll listen a few minutes and the music quits playing, when I check the Audio button i will find that FM is no longer selected and instead another function - usually Sirrus has is selected. I reselect FM and listen a few minutes until the music quits - once again the Source has changed from FM to (usually) Sirrius. Anyone else have this issue?
  3. Go to www.fordprotect.ford.com and you can get a price on a Ford Warranty from Ford or google extended warranties and you will find a number of dealers that sell Ford Extended warranties at a discount. I bought a Ford Premium Care 100,000 mile, 8 year, $100 deductible for $1495 from Anderson & Koch Ford in North Branch, MN. 800-758-3679 Jeremy Klund, Business Manager. Before doing this I checked it out with a friend who used to own a ford dealership but is still heavily involved in the auto industry. He said that Ford pays these dealers significant incentives to sell extended warranties.
  4. I went to the dealership and the parts catalog only showed two hitches for the 2017 Edge. The first hitch was $249 but said it was not for the Sport or Titanium or with the power lift gate (which I have). The other hitch listed at almost $600 but the parts guy could not find any information as to what it did or difference from the $249 hitch I'm having the Drawtite #75234 installed tomorrow. The receiver is below the rear fascia but the cross tubes are hidden behind the fascia. For those who have towed with the 3.5, what gear do you use? I would assume you use D until highway speeds and then shift to S and use 4th or 5th? Philllip
  5. Being a newby here could someone post some information on this water pump issue with the 3.5 liter engine.
  6. I can’t provide any towing data but my 2017 3.5 gets almost exactly what it’s rated at in the city. - rated at 17 city. I get 16.6. Don’t have any Highway Data yet but I’m hoping to get close to the rated 26
  7. The tow package for the 2017 Edge 3.5 includes hitch, wiring harness, larger radiator, enhanced cooling fans, and sway control. Source: 2017 Ford Towing Guide
  8. The only hitch I found for my 2017 Edge Titanium on Fordparts.com indicates that it cannot be used with the power lift gate. I would like to have the factory look if possible. This note now makes me wonder about the aftermarket hitches such as Curt or Drawtite. I don’t like the look of the Curt as you can see the cross tube under the rear fascia. The Drawtit hides the cross tube behind the fascia but drops the actual receiver under the fascia. I wonder now if these will work with the power lift gate or is it possible to relocate the lift gate sensor if the hitch does block it for some reason. I wish that I could’ve found an Edge with the factory tow package but as I was buying a 2017 as they were clearing them out for the 2018s there weren’t many tow packages available. In fact my dealer checked his trade network of 300 dealers and found only one and by the time the dealer attempted to trade it was gone. I have the 3.5 and want to tow about 2500 lbs with it (2000lbs travel trailer plus gear). I know that it’s Rated 2000lbs without tow package and 3500 with. My research found that the tow package for the 3.5 consists of the receiver hitch, wiring harness, enhanced cooling fans, a larger radiator and sway control. If I’m just going maybe 500 lbs over the rating I’ve wondered if the extra cooling is necessary? Then I’ve thought that a transmission cooler is an inexpensive add on - should I add one of those for the extra transmission cooling it provides?
  9. I'm brand new here so Pardon me if I missed discussion on the 2.3 update. My daughter has a 2016 Edge (no Apple Car Play) and I have a 2017 Edge. We ran across a release from Ford that version 2.2 was available for all year model 2016 Ford products to bring Apple Car Play and Android auto to those vehicles. It went on to say that it could be installed by thumb drive or going to the dealer. We went to download version 2.2 and it was no longer available but 2.3 was. We downloaded 2.3 onto a thumb drive and my daughter installed in on her 2016 Edge. The result was that Sync was totally messed up, error messages, blue tooth no longer works, etc. A call to Ford revealed that version 2.3 has a "Known Issue" and that it was not supposed to be downloadable. This is the reason that a search for updates returns no update available. As to my daughter's Sync system, also not mentioned in the release is the fact that the 2016's need an Apple Car Play controller installed before car play will work. Cost of the controller is $63.73. My daughter's Edge is scheduled tomorrow to be reprogrammed to Sync 3 Version 2.2 and the Apple Car Play controller installed - total price with labor is $135 + Tax. Hope this helps.
