  1. I wouldnt be against a catted one either. I just assumed most on here where like the st crowd and opted for the $300 pipe as opposed to the $500-600 pipe. I would buy whatever came out first to be honest.
  2. If you are tuned correctly the smell is very minimal. I notice more black smoke and smell from any other DI engine that goes wot than I ever have out of a catless well tuned car. Dont get me wrong I have both catted and catless systems for diffrent applications. My 3.5 truck push just under 500whp has catted and works fine but I wouldnt do one on a 2.0 or 2.3 because they have a reputaion for ruining expensive catted downpipe in record time. Look at the st and RS forums. This I dont want to pay a higher cost for a catted pipe only to have it go out sooner. Plus Ive never had anyone complain about the smell from behind me.
  3. A lot depends on what you can stomach also. If your ok with no warranty or you are outside of the warranty the meth injection makes the most sense even if not tuned for it it will work to clean valves. Catch cans work to an extent but they dont solve the problem either so you still will get build up. Meth takes care of the problem altogether plus adds power of tuned. I actually have a can from lms for my edge but have not got to the install.
  4. You are absolutely right. And I would do just as you said if I was in that case. Im just going by what happened to lots of RS owners that got the shaft from certain dealers. Very similar case to the age old question of if KN voids warranty. They never claim the filter was at fault but faulty install. Which is almost always the case with those style filters
  5. The 2.7 is a monster when tuned. I am in envy sir.
  6. Ive run both and Ive never really noticed the diffrence in smell between the two. The only reason I thought catless is the sound would be better and when tuned at the higher end the cats seem to give up early on the st and RS. This needing to be replaced. I think the pops and burbles when letting off is what kills hem so fast. Plus its cheaper to begin with.
  7. I seem to buy all the stuff they need all of mine have been the vehicals they build off. Lucky Im only 3 hours from them so its easy for me to dyno. FYI they posted the vid today to the YouTube channel. It shows peak and max gains for the 93. I think they are very Leary of the e30 tunes as customers could have issues mixing. Its a very impressive tune. I can tell you its worth every penny on this car to get the tune. I just left lms and was talking about putting my rs turbo on the edge and meh injection.
  8. So guys I still cant post pics but I found a photo of our stock downpipe. I think that is where we are being held back after the tune. It has a pretty serious bent and pinch point right after the turbo. So is anyone interested in a downpipe? When I talked with lms they will build a pipe but because its one off it would be very costly. This is more than likely the second best mod we could do just at sight. Plus a catless would give a better sound.
  9. What springs did you us. I am thinking thats my next step on my edge spring and meth injection.
  10. T stay is very simple I did it in my edge in about an hour and that was taking lots of time.
  11. I do not have a edge 2.7 but they tuned my f-150 3.5 at 300 miles and I had 93 stg 3 and a meth tune. I run meth all the time and am at 158,000 no issues. My friend does run the 93 in his edge and has 83,000 with no issues. He goes to track days every now and again and sounds like he drive like you. LMS is know for the longevity they provide with tunes so I think you will be ok.
  12. Thanks. I just enjoy this stuff and noticed nobody had any info on the 2.0 edge a few with the escape. So when I had to go to New York for a week I dropped off the edge and picked it up on the way back.
  13. I think 450whp will be pushing it based on the 3.5 numbers we get. You may get it but I wonder what the engine will handle long term. Just shy of 500whp has been very reliable in the 3.5. Also how to you plan on overcoming the fueling issue? The hpfp seems to be the bottle neck on lost ecoboost. If it happens to be the same pump as the 3.5 you may have a decent amount of room. If it is the same pump as the 3.5 I think you should look at the livernois hpfp. It would allow you to run an e30 blend and still have enough fuel something the stock pump more than likely wont do. Im very excited to see what you can do.
  14. Also agree that the cleaner would be impossible to tell. Prob the safest way. I love my meth injection but the plug and play six fueling can be so easily removed that its hot me tempted. Although I didnt get the extended warranty on anything and never had an issue. Plus Ill be out of warranty this year at the rate my wife is driving the thing. Ill have 35,000 in a year. Not bad considering I put on 60,000 a year
  15. I understand how the magnuson moss act works but the catch is if you are willing to pay for the litigation to argue with ford. I say a catch can would not void it or a proper tune by coming from the focus st and RS I can tell you many have been denied engines based on catch cans. Even after the RS had a recal on certain vin with the wrong head gasket causing failure. Cost more to fight it than buy the new motor. You could get lucky and have a good dealer but that is very rare. I get what your saying but also know companies will do anything not to pay up.
  16. I wonder if its the same median inside as the eak51k or whatever it is. Im just curios as the old eao51 was replace by the smaller 51k and Im just wondering why. If its the same than the added oil would be awsome. Ive only run amsoil in my stuff since 2000. All changed at the 15,000 mile severe service. All made it over 260,000 with alimony no oil consumption. Only on my rs and meth injected truck so I change it at 50 percent oil life as meth can really do a number on oil at the rate I spray mine. The trans fluid also works great.
  17. For those that look at the graph the gains on 2.0 before 17 will be greater. The mkc 2.0 they did had larger gains than mine but a few less peak hp. Do to the revised tune from factory. Also after you become a customer you get two free track day events a year they put on. Very fun events if you can make it south of detriot. I take mine every year at least once. Im hoping for a 14:5 out if the edge.
  18. I posted pics of the dyno and the edge at LMS along with a pic from earlier in the year. Its on the focus rs forum under off topic. If you have more interest I would contact them direct and ask for Steve or Scott. I dont work for them and have nothing invested into them. I just found a pack of info on mods for this platform and thought Id share my experience with them. Ive had amazing luck with everything they have done for me and usually you only hear the bad so I thought Id share.
  19. I do not and am not on my face. I assure you it is available. I just talked to Steve and mentioned they should add it to the site or if they did vid to post to YouTube. They seem to think they dont have a large market for it. I can post the pics on the focus RS forum if you really want to see them under a general discussion. Even if you dont sign up you can see them.
  20. Dumb question but how do you post on this forum? I will post all for sure. The tunes do not name vehical though it says stock. Lms 93, e30. 037 like the profile pic. Looks very similar to my edge.
  21. You could also ask for Scott the manager he was who I dropped it off to. Scott knows me well the are finishing my rs right now. By the way my name is Levi. So if they tell you they dont tell that sales guy hes full of shit cause Im running it right now.
  22. Lol ok I have a dyno sheet from them and the tuner in hand. A simple phone call would tell you they do. Second why the hell would anyone make up something like that.
  23. It may have been a timing issue. When I called they did not have one done they had the fusion and escape but not the edge. I was pretty surprised when I bought this that no one has been tuning them. It has the same 2.0 as the st with the upgraded twin scroll. Those blocks are very strong and most stuff from the st will fit nicely. It is my wifes car and Ive been trying to curb my spending on mods but my goal would to have downpipe, meth injection, and the turbo off my rs. That would be a crazy fun car to drive. But Im thinking of settling for meth injection and a retune. The downtime it takes to fab a downpipe will not work into the schedule.
  24. Steve Gorecki. It is a large place with lots of staff but I can assure you mine was done this past spring.
  25. The turbos are not affected by the carbon on the valves they are affected during the cleaning. When that carbon breaks free and leaves the exhaust its a solid piece that goes through the turbine. Even liquid can have bad effects on turbos. That being said I have more than one boost with over 180,000 with no cleaning and they are fine. Even livernois said they dont run into the carbon issue that people keep saying is so bad. On my new stuff they all get meth injection so its a none issue. But why dont some of you look at startified aux fueling. They have a simple single port spacer that is plug and play. That fuel will wash the valves. It also gives you the ability to run e85. It does requires a tune but even adding both the cost together its cheaper than a Manuel cleaning service. Plus way more power and cheaper fuel. Even a catch can or spray cleaner voids warranty so thats a non issue either way.
