  1. Thank you for your explanation. I also believe that, once made changes in SCCM, they would work, but in my case they won't. Probably it's a defective unit.
  2. Did they worked before the SCCM changes? I mean, the left buttons block is one piece (the upper 4-way cross+ok and the lower cc\acc buttons); maybe the lower part is not working untile the SCCm changes but the upper part is working? I could try to buy a new switch assembly but it's really strange that this is defective..
  3. Finally I had time to work on my car for this ACC stuff! With some help I managed to remove the airbag (I have the adaptive steering so you have to remove the airbag differently) and replace the switch assembly. Unfortunately this assembly seems to be defective because no buttons are working. I thought that I need to configure the SCCM before they work, but it makes no difference. Neither upper nor lower buttons are working, so I cannot navigate menus to configure options (disconnecting battery has deleted all settings). @andyh1108 Can you confirm that the new switch assembly is, at least, partially working even without forscan modifications? I believe that at least the 4-way cross buttons and OK button should work even without configuration. I also got some DTCs that probably confirm that the switch assembly is defective: ===SECM DTC B137F:4A-0A=== Code: B137F - Steering Wheel Left Switch Pack Additional Fault Symptom: - Incorrect Component Installed Status: - DTC Present at Time of Request - Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC Module: Steering Effort Control Module Freeze Frame : -REALTIME: 0 s - Total time ECU has been active -ODOMETER: 88624.0 km - Total Distance -MAIN_SECM_V: 12.25 V - Main ECU Voltage Supply -SW_ANGLE: 1.90 ° - Steering Wheel Angle -INT_TEMP_SECM: 20 °C - Module internal temperature. -ECU_TEMP_B: 15 °C - ECU Internal Temperature B -ECU_TEMP_C: 16 °C - ECU Internal Temperature C -VSPD: 0.0 km/h - Vehicle Speed ===END SECM DTC B137F:4A-0A=== ===C-CM DTC U0401:86-28=== Code: U0401 - Invalid Data Received from ECM/PCM A Additional Fault Symptom: - Signal Invalid Status: - Previously Set DTC - Not Present at Time of Request - Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC Module: Cruise-Control Module Freeze Frame : -GLOBTIM: 134096749 s - Global real time -IFC_D703: 0 - Internal Module Fail Code ===END C-CM DTC U0401:86-28=== ===C-CM DTC U0429:86-28=== Code: U0429 - Invalid Data Received From Steering Column Control Module Additional Fault Symptom: - Signal Invalid Status: - Previously Set DTC - Not Present at Time of Request - Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC Module: Cruise-Control Module Freeze Frame : -GLOBTIM: 134096753 s - Global real time ===END C-CM DTC U0429:86-28=== ===ABS DTC U2101:00-28=== Code: U2101 - Control Module Configuration Incompatible Status: - Previously Set DTC - Not Present at Time of Request - Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC Module: Antilock braking system Freeze Frame : -GLOBTIM: 134096774 s - Global real time ===END ABS DTC U2101:00-28=== ===SCCM DTC B137F:09-08=== Code: B137F - Steering Wheel Left Switch Pack Additional Fault Symptom: - Component Failures Status: - Previously Set DTC - Not Present at Time of Request - Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC Module: Steering Column Control Module ===END SCCM DTC B137F:09-08=== ===SCCM DTC B137F:11-08=== Code: B137F - Steering Wheel Left Switch Pack Additional Fault Symptom: - Circuit Short To Ground Status: - Previously Set DTC - Not Present at Time of Request - Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC Module: Steering Column Control Module ===END SCCM DTC B137F:11-08=== ===SCCM DTC U2101:00-08=== Code: U2101 - Control Module Configuration Incompatible Status: - Previously Set DTC - Not Present at Time of Request - Malfunction Indicator Lamp is Off for this DTC Module: Steering Column Control Module ===END SCCM DTC U2101:00-08=== That "Circuit shot to ground" seems to be clear.. There are also some ccm errors, don't know if they are related to the switch assembly or the modifications. 4. Hi, I need to remove the airbag from my '17 Edge Sport to replace the left switch assembly. All guides I found on the net (mostly for fusion, but the wheel seems identical) are referring to a hole on the bottom part of the wheel, where you have to push a screwdriver to have the bag cover popping off. Unfortunately my Edge does not have any hole for this, and I had no luck searching the forum. Is there some secret spot to unlock the airbag?

    Airbag removal

After I bought this car I visited an official ford dealer, and the guy printed its maintenace history. There was a recall for an ECU update and nothing else. Also, he told me that there was a pending recall for the trunk (sometimes it opens randomly 😮 ) but that if I haven't had problems, they won't replace it .. So it's really hard to guess where to make those slits without a guide.. I don't want to make a mess BTW, where could I look for recalls for my specified car? I remember that they should also be on owners.ford.com but I have nothing there.

    Airbag removal

Thank you both for the replies! I lnow that there is the adaptive steering stuff so I imagined that it could be the reason of the different removal method. However the switch assembly I need to replace is the one on the steering wheel, not the one behind it: so I need to remove the airbag to access the inside of the wheel. @omar302 do you have the service procedure pdf for removing the airbag? I don't have slits but don't think they did any recall on this car (I got that used). Maybe the '17 was already fixed during production. Thanks! EDIT: just found a youtube video about adaptive steering, showing the inside of the wheel: It seems that the lower 'hook' is missing (due to the a.s. motor) ant that there are two hooks on each side. You probably need to make the slits only there. A better look here, from a '17 f250 the two big 'holes' on the side seems the place to insert something from the back and push the metal clips.

    Airbag removal

Thank you for your reply. I already removed the steering column bottom cover, but can't see how to go on now. Better if I post some pictures: This is the wheel type I'm referring to: I found a youtube video explaining how to remove the Fusion steering wheel, that is identical (but without the plastic 'square' at the bottom of the wheel) It refers to this hole that should be found on the bottom: unfortunately my wheel is different there: That black plastic seems to not be a cover but the actual wheel, i.e. not removable. So I removed the steering column cover It seems that european Edge have only one screw there.. but even without the cover, I can't see anything useful: a small screw is vibile here, but not reachable another couple of screws, but not useful (I found another video that has the steering wheel already out, with these screws still installed) It sounds a bit strange that there are no threads\infos about removing the steering wheel... 😯
  8. I'm waiting for the switch assembly to arrive from the US (almost impossible to find these parts here) so still on hold
  9. Ok understood But hopefully the changes in BPM and IPC modules listed by OP are the same I need to make to have it functional.
  10. What do you mean? I already have an european VIN since my car is the Euro model. I vas referring to the as-built generated from my VIN for my car. About an european RTM, I'm not entirely sure that remote start is available somewhere in europe. I remember some time ago when I did some research about remote start, I found people trying to enable it on mondeo\fusion and they were searching for remotes with remote start button and 433 mhz frequencies. And I'm sure enough that EU models use 433 mhz for both remote and tpms data. But if it works like colinc755 said, the main frequency is insignificant: US or EU, with remote start you switch to an entirely dofferent frequency. Do you have a ford part number for that RTM? The link you posted requires to choose an US dealer, that is a bit impractical for me from Italy
  11. Do you think this could work on an european Edge? I believe here the remote works on a different frequency (433 mhz) but after being replaced, it should not be a problem. Checking my as-built, I have the "01FF 80DA" value.
  12. You are the man, Andy! Thank you so much.. I'll try and report back
  13. Yes thank you, details would be great!
  14. Thank you for the update. So replacing the steering wheel buttons solved all your issues? Do you confirm the part number I found? Are all the mod needed in forscan only in the CCM module?
  15. Hey Andy, I'm trying to enable ACC too. I have an European model (italian, exactly) after my research you are right: we should have all the hardware and modules for the ACC to work. Some time ago I was searching about american model, and wherever one car has Forward collision alert and emergency brake, it has adaptice cruise control too. So it is very likely that the hardware is the same. European models - at least the one sold in Italy, are almost full optional as the base model, with a few option to add, and ACC alone is option. I'm following an italian forum where a guy told me to check with forscan if I have CCM, if it is present it could be possible to activate ACC, and you are the proof that the system could work. When I have some more info, I'll post here to get you updated. About buttons, I got some info from Forscan forum, they should be code DG9Z-9C888-GC , this: https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts/ford-switch-asy-control-dg9z9c888gc
  16. Mirror probably goes off instantly or after a few minutes after stopping the engine.
  17. The info I was searching, with a simple and direct explanation. Thank you @Gadgetjq !

2017 Edge Hardwire for Dash Cam

Thank you! However the amazon page shows three different images - are the one in the picture you posted the right size? I'm still waiting to get the car so I can't check. Thank you, the dashcam I'm looking at already have the hardwire kit included, but not the fuse tap, so I'm searching for it separately.

    Ford Edge Forum: WHAT HAPPENED?

Thank you for being up again and running! I'm a new user but felt immediately lost without a reference point for the Edge all over the internet

    Hi guys, Italy here!

A big hello to all the participants in this forum! I'm a soon-to-be owner of a beautiful white 2017 Ford Edge Sport - I just signed the contract this morning and in a week I should have it in my garage Since I live in Italy mine is the _Euro_ version, that ha s some major difference from US Edge. The main difference is the engine: across the entire Europe the Edge is equipped with a 2.0L diesel engine, with two power level, 180 and 210 hp. 180 are very rare and about all the Edge around here are the 210 hp model. I previously had a 2015 Mustang that I sold about three months ago.. it was a sad selling but it was time to change, and I already was in love with the Edge! I hope to contribute to this forum as I did previously on mustang6g forum (Hi guys!), and will for sure get all the info you guys already layed down here. Ciao! Stefano

    Hi guys, Italy here!

Thank you for the greeting Paul! What's the BAMR, the panoramic sunroof? As you may (not) know, here there's no windows sticker on cars so you have to rely on what the dealer told you. In this case, remembering the good ol' days on the mustang forum, I did some research for windows sticker and ford etis features list, and I found that my Edge has Adaptive LED lights! Looking at the headlights when I was at the dealer I had a clue that they could be the adaptive leds, but the dealer did not mention them among optional provided. I am not an expert - very few Edge around here) - so I didn't ask. But the windows sticker is among any doubt Ford ETIS EN.pdf

    Hi guys, Italy here!

I'll do! I have posted a ton of pics about the mustang but checking now and they have all broken links.. oh well. The Mustang have many differences between Eu and US, too. In that case I was very upset about this, because I bought a car that means "America" all over the world, and I want it to be exactly as americans have it. So I replaced fog lights, front and rear lights, tribars, side markers, and even the dash trim. The only difference you could find were the side mirrors, bulky jumbo mirrors compared to the sleek and tiny original ones. However regarding the Edge, for me it still means "America" but not as the Mustang did, so if the differences are nice, I'm not worried ?

    Hi guys, Italy here!

Yes, here the Edge is a "premium" SUV and is something rare... The 2015+ gen is the first that Ford give to Europe and I read that they sold about 30,000 units in Europe and 4,000 in Italy (for the model pre-facelift, 2015-2018). Not many actually, but price is very high, buying new my Sport would start from 52,000 54,000 eur and if you want it full optional you have to go over 61,000. Here is is considered the larger SUV, like the "full size" category in US, while actually for you is a mid-size SUV It's the same level here of Nissan Murano, Hyundai Santa Fe and Kia Sorento, all cars rarely seen on the road. I must admit that even the 'base' sport has many accessories standard, but compared to your market it's still 10-15k dollars higher. Oh, well. I had a rental Edge Titanium when I visited Canada and New England a couple years ago and I loved it - actually I didn't know about the existence of the Edge before! There's a significant difference in the cockpit that is almost entirely digital in euro Edge, however I'll make a thread about it so you guys could see all the differences I was searching for a full optional Sport for months, but can't find at a reasonable price, so after three months with my parent's Tucson (really nice car btw) I found this bargain at 27,000 eur. The only optional that I wanted but I don't have are panoramic sunroof, adaptive cruise control* and blis. Stefano * I will open a new thread about it, I have some idea...
