  1. Brian, It looks like yours is a vehicle that needs to be retrofitted, so who knows when you'll get it. Receipt Date: 8/1/2006 Serialize Date: 8/24/2006 Segment Date: 8/28/2006 Sequence Date: 11/10/2006 Blend Date: 11/10/2006 Produced Date: 11/30/2006 Gate Release Date: Ship Date: Arrival Date: Sold Date: I don't work at Oakville, but I'm not even sure you can track a retrofitted Edge until you see a gate release date.
  2. kosmo, Receipt Date: 10/17/2006 Serialize Date: 12/21/2006 Segment Date: 12/21/2006 Sequence Date: Blend Date: Produced Date: Gate Release Date: Ship Date: Arrival Date: Sold Date: Hopefully it gets made soon, I'm sure your getting anxious!!!!
  3. rbaugh, Receipt Date: 7/12/2006 Serialize Date: 8/31/2006 Segment Date: 10/10/2006 Sequence Date: 12/15/2006 Blend Date: 12/15/2006 Produced Date: Gate Release Date: 1/2/2007 Ship Date: 1/3/2007 Arrival Date: Sold Date: All of the info is still the same, except the produced date??? I'm not sure why it is taking so long. Where are you located? Perhaps the system is a little f'ed up. Be patient!! I know it's hard
  4. My suggestion is prescription polarized sunglasses, or a dash mat (which looks cheesy). I have the charcoal interior, and it is not a problem for me. I'm going to the detroit autoshow on Wednesday in my dad's MKX w/ camel interior. I'd like to see how much of a difference it is.
  5. Receipt Date: 10/5/2006 Serialize Date: 11/30/2006 Segment Date: 11/30/2006 Sequence Date: 12/12/2006 Blend Date: 12/15/2006 Produced Date: Gate Release Date: 1/3/2007 Ship Date: 1/4/2007 Arrival Date: Sold Date: Congrats, you should have it any day now I'm not sure why there isn't a produced date but it says it shipped!!
  6. My first tank was the from 12/22 to around new years. I was only averaging 13.6 MPG. BUT, that was all city in Christmas traffic. My average speed was 9 MPH . Half of my current tank was also in the city under heavy traffic, the other half I'm back to work after shutdown and traveling highway most of the time. Now I am up to 17.3 MPG. My next tank will be my first real world or normal tank in which I expect to get around 20 or 21 MPG. No matter what it is still better than my V-8 Explorer got .
  7. I tracked a VIN# on Ford's internal web hub last month. It was an Edge SE no BAMR located in the Cleveland area. It was ordered on 11/01/2006, and was delivered to the dealership on 12/10/2006. Just a little over one month on a base model Edge. This was also a dealer order, not a customer pre-order. That is how I got the VIN# online. So it is possible to get an ordered Edge in about six weeks. I'm not sure however on MKX's. Based on December sales figures 1 MKX is sold for every 2 1/2 Edges, so I wouldn't think the MKX's are pouring off the assembly line. But I don't work there either, so pretty much I have no idea
  8. Receipt Date: 8/19/2006 Serialize Date: 8/21/2006 Segment Date: 8/24/2006 Sequence Date: 10/25/2006 Blend Date: 10/25/2006 Produced Date: 11/8/2006 Gate Release Date: Ship Date: Arrival Date: Sold Date: It looks like yours was one of the first built, so it's probably being retrofitted. It sucks to wait, but it is very well worth it. Hang in there!!
  9. VIN# 2FMDK49CX7BA33558 Receipt Date: 7/12/2006 Serialize Date: 8/31/2006 Segment Date: 10/10/2006 Sequence Date: 12/15/2006 Blend Date: 12/15/2006 Produced Date: 1/2/2007 Gate Release Date: 1/2/2007 Ship Date: 1/3/2007 Arrival Date: Sold Date: Congrats, you should get your Edge any day, suprised it's not there already!!
  10. I received your e-mail, when I get to work I'll look it up for you and post it.
  11. VIN Here is the info on the network now. Remember, it is not updated as often as it originally seemed. VIN: 2FMDK36C37BA28779 Receipt Date: 8/3/2006 Serialize Date: 8/24/2006 Segment Date: 8/28/2006 Sequence Date: 11/1/2006 Blend Date: 11/1/2006 Produced Date: 11/17/2006 Gate Release Date: Ship Date: Arrival Date: Sold Date:
  12. Receipt Date: 10/5/2006 Serialize Date: 11/30/2006 Segment Date: 11/30/2006 Sequence Date: 12/12/2006 Blend Date: 12/15/2006 Produced Date: Gate Release Date: Ship Date: Arrival Date: Sold Date: That's all there is now.
  13. No we don't have any kids yet, but hopfully the situation at Ford improves enough so we can start worrying about having kids. Also my dad just got a White Chocolate MKX, and was wondering about the lack of discussion on this site about the MKX. Anyway, he is going to register and try to get something started. And finally a bit of a rant from me. I have to return to my dealership because it seems they charged me $5.00 too much for Wearcare. Ford will not let them cut me a check for $5.00, so I have to go in and sign all new paperwork . As a Ford employee, I'm glad it happened to me and not a regular customer who might not be as loyal. I know it is a small problem, but it is still a hassle!!!
  14. I took delevery tonight of my BEAUTIFUL new Ford Edge w/ Vista Roof!! :hyper: :hyper: What a great vehicle, props to the folks up north in Canada for a superb fit and finish! Too bad it's dark and rainy and overall shitty out when I took it home. Anyway, here are a couple of pics taken at the dealership. P.S. If you are thinking of canceling your order, DON'T!!! It's worth the wait!!!
  15. rEDGEe, Here is the info I have for you, VIN# 2FMDK48C37BA27540 RECEIPT DATE: 8/9/2006 SERIALIZE DATE: 8/21/2006 SEGMENT DATE: 8/24/2006 SEQUENCE DATE: 10/27/2006 BLEND DATE: 10/27/2006 PRODUCED DATE: 11/13/2006 That is the last date listed. I would guess that your Edge is one of the ones that needed to be retrofitted with quality compliant parts. That is the reason for the delay. Sorry I don't have better news!!!
  16. You would need the whole VIN# for it to work. I am laid off until 1/02/07, not sure if I will be around the plant to check, if you want you can PM me with the whole VIN if you don't want to post it. Then if I'm around work I could stop in and look it up for you, otherwise I would see if there is someone else on this site that is working tommorrow or over shutdown to look it up for you.
  17. I along with many other people on this site have an Edge ordered and can't get any info from our dealers. I can provide a little help to some of you. First, you need to access Ford's internal web hub at www.my.ford.com. Don't even try from your home computer, you must have a ford registered internet address. You also need a CDS ID. If you do not have one, your supervisor does and I would hope wouldn't mind doing this for you. Once you are logged on, scroll down about three quarters down the page to the order fullfillment section. One of the options is "Where's My Car?" Click on that. A screen will come up that asks for you VIN#, enter it( it is not case sensitive). It will then take you to a screen that shows the progress of your vehicle in the Ford system. There are (4) catagories, 1. Your vehicle has been scheduled 2. Your vehicle is being manufactured 3. Your vehicle is being shipped 4. Your vehicle is at the dealership Click the icon to view details. This will give you exact dates in the progress of you vehicle. Here, there are (10) catagories: Receipt Date: The day Vehicle Operations recieved your order Serialize Date: The day a VIN number is assigned Segment Date: The day V.O. determines the week your vehicle is to be made Sequence Date: The day V.O. determines which day your vehicle will be made Blend Date: The day V.O. determines the order your vehicle will be built in that specific day Produced Date: The day you vehicle was completely assembled Gate Release Date: The day you vehicle is cleared for shipment Ship Date: The day your vehicle ships Arrival Date: The day you vehicle arrives at the dealership Sold Date: The day you take delivery of your new vehicle There seems to be no exact system as to how long it takes. In my research of various VIN numbers I found online, there seems to be about a 14-18 day gap between Blend Dates and Produced Dates and about another five days until the Edges hit the dealers. I have a Blend Date of 12/12/06 and a Receipt Date of 8/30/06....A pretty big time frame considering I found an Edge that had a Receipt Date of 11/01/06 and an Arrival Date of 12/11/06. One thing I also found was that it seems the shipped Edges around me in Cleveland are base model SE's with few options and no BAMER's. Again, this is how I check the status on my Edge, and this is how I do it in Cleveland, it should be the same at all plants in North America. There should be a prompt on your plant's home page for Ford's Internal Web Hub. I hope this helps someone!!
  18. Legacy Ford, in Brunswick, Ohio (approx. 20 miles south of Cleveland) got their first Edge in today. A Light Sage one, that is all I know. It is a little frustrating that they already got one, and I was the first person to order one from them, including the dealership's own orders. However on the bright side, he said they have my invoice and that they should have mine in 7-10 days. He says mine was built last Friday the 8th, and the invoice is dated the 12th. I'll believe him once it is in my driveway!!!
  19. AP News articlehttp://biz.yahoo.com/ap/061207/ford_edge_delay.html?.v=1 It looks like we are finally going to see Edges in showrooms :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:
  20. I was wondering what Oakville's December work schedule looks like. Are you guys working past December 11th? Cleveland is not, and it is my understanding that most of the company is going to be down most of December. The reason I am asking is that the last I heard, my Edge was scheduled to be built the week of December 4th. That was before the announced delay of shipment. Any help would be appreciated!! I'm getting anxious :hyper: :hyper:
  21. I ordered my Edge on 8-25-06. It is an SEL Plus with Carbon Metallic exterior paint. Originally my dealer told me the dates he saw for my schedule date were 10-23-06 or maybe the first week of November. I talked to him today and now he is telling me 11-27-06. WTF!! Has there been a delay in Edge production, or is my dealer as clueless as all the other Ford dealers in existence!! He also told me the Vista roof I ordered is a small volume option and that might slow production of my vehicle. He gave me a VIN# when he originally told me my schedule date which he now says he didn't tell me. He still says that is the VIN# assigned to me at this time. I didn't realize VIN#'s could be changed once they are generated. I absolutely hate dealing with dealerships and always feel like they are trying to screw me, even though I am A-Plan. I work at Cleveland Engine Plant 2, so I am extremely unfamiliar with how a body and assembly plant really works. If anyone can help me, shoot me an email or just respond to this post. Like I said I have my VIN# if anyone has the sources to fiqure something out with that. The automated vehicle tracking system doesn't recognize my body code, so I'm not getting anywhere with that. Any help I would appreciate!! Thanks

I do not believe either fordedgeforum or blueovalnews is sanctioned by Ford Motor Company. However, I could be wrong!!
  23. I can honestly say I understand what they are talking about!! I personally shift through ALL of my gears in my AUTOMATIC Explorer. So I might add that since the Edge also doesn't offer a third row, and obviously no other Ford vehicle does either, I will be purchasing a Toyota instead of an Edge. I don't care if I have to park far away or that my new Toyota will get keyed every day. I will have a third row!! I will have a L-2-3-4-5-D on my center console. I will have my way!! A little sarcasm for the slow crowd. The Edge rocks and we're going to sell a ton of them!!
  24. They do have me in the system, and didn't even mention anything about a deposit. I just saw pricing has been released and have a call into my salesperson. Thanks for the quick reply.
