  1. So you are saying that I will likely be unhappy with the Scorps on 20" rims also? Or will a little more sidewall make them better over your 22's? I went to tirerack.com and read a ton of reviews on these tires and there was a lot of good feedback so I hope I am not going to regret it. The negative was that they only last 30k or so but I'm not worried, my 2008 Edge just turned 30k miles so if I have to buy tires in three years I can deal with that.
  2. I may be forgetting some but a few are: Thicker windshield glass Thicker metal on the roof (Both of these may be late 2011 changes, can't remember) Added insulation in the body MFT is SUPPOSED to be better (hope so) Redesigned mirrors and spoiler
  3. I read up on the Pirelli Scorpions on the 20" rims and they had good reviews for performance and snow. I have been unhappy with the Michelins I have on my 18" rims now. Maneuvering in the snow is really tough so I went with the 20's with the Pirellis on the new one (if that is what they are putting on the 12's). Are the 22" rim tires Scorpions also? Does anyone have bad feelings toward the tires on the 20" rims?
  4. There are quite a few nice changes to the 2012 that made me wait.
  5. TSB's for the 2011 Sync are: 11-4-18 and 10-24-9. I think they are mostly for the blank screen issues.
  6. My 2008 Edge mic did not work right from day one. There is a TSB on that one for defective mic and placement. The dealer moved it to the headliner to the left of the rear view mirror. Works very well now. I do not have a vista roof and the 2012 I ordered does not either, so maybe it is something with the vista roof? Or the mic could be defective and they possibly should replace it.
  7. Thousands of just Edges? Wow. Thanks for the article. I hope this does not affect the quality of the carpet or the build, that is my main concern. I don't mind waiting, I am just so angry that they were not upfront when I called and I went through the hassle of getting a loan that I now have to return and pay interest on.
  8. Could someone go into these inserts in a little more detail? I just downloaded a 2012 Edge brochure and see that you can add that. I am so excited because I really love the look of the black but didn't go with the sport. Does it go over the chrome? Would I be able to do it myself? Does anyone know what Ford charges for this part? Thanks.
  9. For years now I have been using large rubber backed floor mats from the hardware store. $7.00 each. I spread them out where I need them. If I need something to not slide I fold one in half with the non skid rubber side out.
  10. Must be an outdated article because a bunch of us are waiting for carpet.
  11. Who would ever guess that they would actually run low on carpet to the point where a missed shipment would stop production. I'm so bummed. Getting a brand new car right when winter starts.
  12. My sales guy just called me. It's the carpet. Hurricane Lee destroyed the plant. My original delivery date was the week of Oct 9, now it is the week of Nov 13. I am really peeved that they would not tell me when I called them directly. I got a loan in anticipation of getting it this week and will now have to redo everything. Mine is a Limited AWD with black interior. Hopefully it's carpet and not something with the AWD.
  13. I was given no information, I would hope that if there was a delay they would explain.
  14. Last week I was told that my Edge would be delivered on Oct 10th so I went to the bank this past Saturday and have a loan check in hand. It wasn't delivered. So I called Tuesday and what I was told was that it is in transit but they could not tell me where it is. Called again today and am told it is waiting to be shipped. Based on the lingo does anyone have any idea how much longer the wait may be? Now I will need to make a payment on my current Edge which screws up the payoff and the loan amount. Not understanding how they could not know exactly where their cars are. Thanks for any info.
  15. When I was shopping I went to autobytel.com to build an Edge and it gives you what the dealer invoice should be for the car. There is a $500+ 'advertising' charge on each car and an $80 fuel charge that dealers just won't let go of. A 2011 you should easily be able to get a zero over invoice or under. When I was shopping I originally looked at 11's to get a good deal. However, just two weeks before the 12's were to come out the dealers were holding onto them like they were rare finds. One dealer worked with me for days and let me walk away for $500.00 on an 11. Couple other dealers did too and now guess who is calling after September was a slow sales month? Everyone! Not knowing what options the Edge you are looking at has I am guessing with rebates you can do much much better than that price. Check out this site.
  16. This is where your insurance comes in. An adjuster should look at it and your insurance can pay for repairs and sue if the other guy won't pony up for more/better work. Your insurance company has a legal team that can step in also. That is what we pay all of this money for to buy insurance.
  17. Your own insurance company should be able to offer you help also.
  18. You ordered yours two weeks after I did so hopefully yours will make it. Mine is on it's way here. It is unfortunate that this happens when so many people are fighting for jobs. Times have changed and they need to get over it.
  19. Is it possible the tire and/or wheel was hit? Maybe the sensor got knocked loose?
  20. If it started today that is since it got hit so be sure to mention it. Does not take much to knock stuff around when a car is hit. I was in an accident a few years ago and everything fell apart. Speakers came loose, window fell off the track so who knows what shook loose.
  21. I have a 2008 Edge. Spring of last year I had a tail light go out, so I bought some to replace it. When I took off the cover the bulb housing had melted and blackened the socket. Took it to the dealer and was told that the burnt bulb was the wrong size, likely upon delivery it was burnt out and they stuck whatever they had in there. They fixed it, checked the other bulb and everything has been fine until now. Sunday the opposite bulb burned out so I grabbed a bulb to change it and find that THAT bulb is melted and the socket all black. It works fine with the new bulb but I am curious why this has happened on both sides. Thoughts?
  22. What's this now? I had not heard about this. Details???
