Ford Guru, I'm with you. The Edge is what it is. Everything is designed and put together to work a certain way and if you change things you are going to have problems-with the car and the warranty. Cars now are so complicated we can barely understand how to use them let alone understand the inner workings. Not like the old days. Just a bad tank of gas can cause havoc. Up until I bought my 2008 Edge and now my 2012 I always took my vehicles to lube places, repair places, to dad, to get work done. Now I only go to the dealer, even for oil changes. Not taking any chances.

They work the numbers a thousand ways to benefit them. Are you trading in? If so they probobly messed with those numbers and have plans for your down payment other than toward the lease. Find a dealer that is more upfront. They are rare but out there. Also, you need to price out the car and figure out invoice pricing to get the best price. Bring the printouts with you and shwo them what you will pay. If you figure out the invoice pricing you also need to add about $580.00 for their advertising fee which is not in that calculation. Don't forget tax.

I was told at the auto show yesterday that the update won't be out until summer. I thought it was supposed to be sooner.

Went to the Chicago Auto Show yesterday. It was ok, not much new stuff to look at. I made friends with someone in the Ford booth and talked for awhile. What I was told about the Edge: -For 2013 Edge SEL and Sport are getting a few changes. The SEL is shown in the Ford magazine, do not know what is in store for the Sport. All models get a makeover for 2014 and it sounds like the grille will go somewhat the way of the new Fusion, Taurus etc. -The 2013 Edge is not being released until fall, which contradicts what we have talked about on the forum. New Fusion and some others are coming but not the Edge -Ford is looking to get rid of Michelin tires -Sounds like in the future the V-6 will be an option and not the norm -The My Ford Touch update is not due to come out until summer I checked out the Mustangs. The Boss 302 was turned on it's side, pretty cool. Got a good look at the exhaust lol. The new Escape is ok. I do not love the back end, it is a little tall and boxy for my taste but overall a nice makeover. It will have the 4 cyl or 4 cyl Ecoboost. I did check out the competition. It was quiet so I got to sit in whatever I wanted so I looked at Equinox, Taverse, Acadia, Camaro and Challenger close up. Wow, talk about disappointing in the interior category. All of these models go for good money and the interiors are cheap! Yuck. The Equinox dashboard was already falling apart. I went home with a new appreciation for my Edge, inside and out.

Those things always break off eventually anyway. I am LOVING my capless gas tank. They should figure out a way to retrofit other cars, greatest thing ever.

The sidepipes are stock or is it a customized Mustang? That is cool! Much cleaner look that way. I have seen some Carmaros customized with that and it looks good. I will definitely check it out.

Tomorrow I am going to the Auto Show at McCormick place. Looking forward to visiting Ford and finding out more info on the 2013's and 2014's. They had a nice booth last year.

Can you instead remove the cap from it and put the new cap on the tether?

Wow-that must have been some chair. Maybe we could all pitch in and get you one of those chairs with the seat that lifts you up. Just teasing. Terrible that it turned into this.

Let's keep the mods to the Edge. I will keep good thoughts for you. Take care of yourself, surgery is hard on your body. I have had a lot of them, three last year alone and have another coming up. My friend's husband had a high tech knee replacement right before Christmas and is doing very well. Behave yourself and get well fast.

This happened to my 2008 Edge, both lights. I was told incorrect bulbs were used, didn't make sense because it took so long for it to happen.

I am so disgusted with this whole thing with the 2013's. I just bought a 2012 in November never imagining they would release them so early and now they have wheels I actually like after agonizing over not being able to get a sport with the wheels I actually like. I am going to the auto show next week and ask them WTF.

Do you have Sync? And a usb to connect it?

I don't mind the black on mine, I think silver would look nice though. You will have to let us know how they hold up.

I went from a 2008 to a 2012 and it is totally different. I feel like I am driving a higher end vehicle with the changes they made.

Mine is working great now, no problems so I'm convinced mine just needed to break in. I use it a lot.

There are a few build dates discussed in this thread. Big difference between a Feb build date and a May build date and a June delivery vs a fall delivery. Was wondering if something has been nailed down.

Ooof, no. All it's missing is the hood scoop.

Does anyone have any more info on the release dates of the 13's? Online info is not helpful, some articles say release is in the fall as usual.
