  1. I contacted the dealership that sold me my 2008. Offered me $600.00 over invoice and it looks right. The other dealer emailed me an 'invoice' that is a total lie. Their price on a car with $1000.00 higher sticker is less than the other dealer INCLUDING the rebates. Unfortunately the dealership that I bought my last one at does not have one with 20's. So close yet so far . . .
  2. I don't think it lists specific pressures, Edge has many different tires. And sometimes you cannot go by what is on the tire if the same tire is used for different applications.
  3. I would love to go to Atlanta to see you and buy an Edge That is a long way away. I could have it trucked maybe? For funsies, I want to email back on the silver one. If I say something like: You claim that my pricing is off, could you send me a copy of the dealer invoice so I am able to see all of the charges and fees? What is the doc fee on this vehicle? I expect to be able to purchase a 2011 Edge for close to dealer invoice. I know that this vehicle has been on your lot for awhile and 2012 Edges will be arriving soon. While I was writing this the dealer with the black one called. They do not have it yet, it is on order, identical to the silver one but the silver one is right near where I live. She invited me to come test drive an Edge. I told her I found an identical one and she said she would call back. ??? Anyway, what do you think?
  4. Am I seeing correctly that there is still a rebate on 2011? I thought it was over yesterday, it is on the Ford website.
  5. Maybe something just a few shades darker? I saw an Edge that was a light color and a dark stripe. Sort of divides the vehicle, ruins the lines.
  6. Here is a snippet of one: We have all of our Best Prices listed within our link above that includes all fees from the Manufacturer. Consumer Reports does not track this information. There is a fuel charge and a National Advertisment Fee from the Manufacturer to the Dealer and the price will be off anywhere from $200-$600 on Consumer's end. And the other with a full tank of gas and won't deal: 1) there was a price increase at the beginning of July and several others since the beginning of the model production last summer that your source was not aware of at time of publication, 2) printed and online sources do not know the cost of gas for a full tank provided at delivery that the factory charges on the invoice. That amount is never published by the factory as it is ever changing, but is on our invoice and is a cost charged to the car, and 3) also on the invoice is the regional advertising assessment for local dealer association. The pays for the local ad for Ford on TV, radio and in the newspapers in the region. Since this varies per car line and per for each dealer association around the country it to cannot be published and is a charged cost to the car on every invoice. I can't tell you how many times I have bought a car and had to go fill the tank. Someone please explain to me what ANY of this has to do with the sticker price? It is much higher than their invoice. The adjustments that Consumer reports, Edmunds etc tell you to make are to the sticker, not the dealer invoice.
  7. I did that over the weekend and emailed two dealers with Limiteds I like. I am furious right now as I write this. One won't give anything off sticker and the other tells me that my figures are way off because I did not include a bunch of stuff including-get this-a tank of gas!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went to a dealer Saturday and no one would even talk to me. I made eye contact with a sales person walking by and she looked away and kept going. I am already over buying a new one. The new ones come out in weeks and no one wants to deal on the 2011's???
  8. Good one. It was shortly after the Tailgate Scandal that I rid of him. I don't put up with much. And he wouldn't eat the mushrooms lol.
  9. Ha ha. Always a crate, often a dog or dogs. I rescue so sometimes a bunch. One of the reasons I love my Edge is the cargo space. Last summer I was surprised at how much I could haul. Five crates with six dogs, a cooler, a huge rubbermaid container, chairs and some other things and two of us. I was amazed. I am getting the itch and looking at cars and just can't see not having an Edge. I even fit a tree in it and a screen door in the box fit in it.
  10. There is a thought. Maybe he was pushing the button and on the tailgate LOL. Didn't work though, I fought my way out.
  11. I got a really good rate from them.
  12. I have a 2008, wondering because I am kicking around the idea of a new one because my warranty is up in February. One of my justifications is how much it will cost to fix things.
  13. You are bad. I don't think anyone would blame him if he did lol.
  14. I have wondered for two years now if that safety feature is foolproof. I got caught in it once and it would not open back up. I was loading up stuff in the back and one of my gloves got lost in the mess, so I leaned in to get it and at the same time my moron boyfriend (no longer) closed the hatch. I did not get out fast enough. Instead of opening when it hit me it kept trying to close.
  15. Akirby, is this a problem with any other model year(s)?
  16. I can't answer your question. I suggest calling Cap One. I am wondering why the dealer did not beat the interest rate. When I bought mine I got a Cap One loan and took the check to the dealer and waved it at them. They said they wanted the loan and beat the interest rate.
  17. Of course. Especially the dogs. I always crate my dogs in the car, I carry one with me at all times.
  18. As disappointed as I am with what I read on the forum about the 2011 Edge, I have decided to consider purchasing one. I am curious about some things that I have found. Why is the liftgate now available only as part of a package that is only available on the Limited? Why is the front crash rating lower now? If there are issues with MFT will they be able to be fixed with the software updates/upgrades I have been reading about? Is the new Explorer experiencing any of the same issues the Edge has with MFT, etc? Thanks.
  19. You could put two or three crates in there for them and that would protect everything. Remove the crates when done and you stil have a clean car.
  20. I'm with everyone else, leave it. My 2008 had to have the fender and door fixed earlier this year because I was sideswiped. My Edge is Vapor Silver. I learned the hard way that these pretty new paint colors come with problems, mainly that they are hard to match. Mine had to be redone and the shop had to get the paint company chemists involved. And it is a really good shop, they specialize in Aston Martin and other luxury cars. It was Porsches, Mercedes, Beamers, Martins and my Edge sitting there. I thought maybe they did a lousy job because it was just an Edge but they gladly fixed it not realizing that the color was wrong. I was told that the newer colors are tricky, that paint matching software does not always get it right.
  21. The liftgates take their time closing. Most of the time I am in the car before it is fully closed so I have to remind myself not to start it right away. I can see where someone may not notice it opening again.
