Congrats on the new vehicle. Paying to have the alarm activated sounds kinda suspect to me. Can't say that I've ever heard of that.

Lot of things it could be, but out of balance wheel is one of the more likely culprits.

Not sure how much useful space you would gain by doing that, but I can't think of a good method to do so.

The 2009 Edge does have a few buttons and latches in the cargo area to attach the net.

I purchased the Ford bumper protector as well and thought the same thing when I first got it. But after I thought about it, they couldn't have made it much thicker due to the small amount of clearance between the lift gate and the bumper. Now that I have it installed, I'm quite satisfied with it.

I had the cloth seats in my 09 Edge recovered in leather with the same color scheme that you did. I went through my Ford deal, but used Classic Soft Trim instead of Katzkin. Cost me $1200 for front and rear. Leather is much better quality than what I've seen come from Ford.
