  1. Kinda hard to use a snow brush when driving. I have avoided more than one rear end collision by looking in my rearview mirror and noticing the person behind me losing control of their car because of weather conditions. If I didnt have a clear view from use of my rear wiper I wouldnt have been able to see them coming and pull out of the way. The secret is pay attention to the cars around you and use your mirrors and rear wiper.
  2. It comes in handy when your back window is packed with snow or there is a strong downpour. I always like to see who is behind me so I can avoid a potential rear end collision.
  3. Let me be the first to say it looks horrible. It will greatly decrease the value of your car.
  4. There is no need to cross post your ad. This forum is slow and anyone who logs in will be sure to see the recent posts.
  5. Searching the forum will answers most of your questions. Here are two threads that might help. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/4605-mod-backup-camera-on-factory-hd-nav-system/page__p__36413__hl__camera__fromsearch__1&&do=findComment&comment=36413 http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/2768-backup-camera-install-into-factory-nav-unit/page__hl__backup%20camera Personally I think the back up camera is a luxury and not needed. People have been driving cars for 100 yrs before the backup cam came to existance. I hope its not taking the place of turning ones head to look for objects.
  6. So it sounds like the answer is ....it depends. I'd go ahead and run the springs without an alignment kit. Many people on the board run just springs and I haven't heard of anyone having issues. Even if your camber is a little negative or positive I doubt it will cause enough uneven wear or affect everyday driving to cause for further adjustment. Springs are a future mod of mine and id like to couple them with a larger rear sway to eliminate some of the body roll. I'll post my experiences after I tackle the install and put in some seat time.
  7. I might have posted comments on 1/4th of the posts since you've been here. This is a VERY slow forum in terms of posts relative to others ive been on in the past. If someone is going to post false information I as well as anyone else has the right to correct them. If I personally do not agree with something then I will make it known. If you do not agree with my corrections or comments then I suggest you put me on ignore. Last time I checked correcting people or giving ones opinion was not childish. Do you get this upset in the real world when you're corrected or someone doesnt agree with you? I should hope not. There is no need for this to go any further. In fact if you just use the ignore feature you wouldnt have polluted this thread with your whining. Grow up.
  8. So instead of getting band new wheels under warranty you decided to spray paint your wheels to hide the imperfections? WOW, people never cease to amaze me. Unbelievable.
  9. All companys do have issues but some more than others. This whole PTU thing doesn't make me feel good about my recent purchase. Four model years and still the same problem is unacceptable. If the PTU becomes an issue for me Ford gets the boot and i'll be heading to team Germany once again.
  10. All American cars ...Maybe you should give the foreign car market a chance,
  11. If all the people in your trailer park decided to marry their first cousin would it make it right? I guess in your case in would.
  12. I drove a Ford Edge yesterday. Does that mean I traded it in because I didnt drive it today?
  13. Yes, you mentioned that she drove an Expedition but not that it was traded in for the Edge. Sounds exactly like what I paid for my Edge. D-plan pricing plus incentives.
  14. I've got about 3k miles on my 2010 and no issues.
  15. The phrase "out the door" refers to the total cost of the car including tax, title, and registration. What did you trade in for it?
  16. By "out the door" do you mean with or without tax, title, registration?
  17. A wood dash in a car is like having wood paneling on the walls of your house. No offense but an 03 Jetta Wagon is pretty much the intro car to the VW/Audi line. Obviously Audi will have higher quality as they are VW's luxury make. I know Audi has had issues in the past particularly with their B5 A4/S4 models. They have come a long way since then so I don't believe you should be basing your opinion on a 7 yr old entry level model. The Audi interiors will put ANY Ford to shame. Here are two pics from my B7 s4. The SRX is definitely more refined than the Edge. Higher quality leather and overall finish. The 2010 Edge does come with a "Limited Interior appearance package" which is similar to the King Ranch Interior. Here is the description. Unique sienna leather-trimmed seats with contrast stitching, unique contrast stitching on steering wheel and shift knob, unique dark brushed-aluminum center stack panel, premium floor mats with "Edge" logo. Personally I think it's hideous but everyone has their own tastes. Ford also gives you the choice of having a custom leather interior manufactured by Katzkin. You basically can have your choice of style, color, accent, trim, leather content, and custom embroideries for a price.
  18. • With available MyFord Touch™ driver connect technology, the 2011 Ford Edge crossover wraps an engaging package with superior craftsmanship, capability and performance • Ford’s advanced engine valvetrain technology – Ti-VCT (Twin Independent Variable Camshaft Timing) – helps Edge achieve best-in-class power and torque for an uncompromised driving experience * All-new powertrain lineup includes North America’s first application of Ford’s global 2.0-liter EcoBoost I-4 engine, delivering class-leading fuel economy, plus the new 3.5-liter Ti-VCT V-6 with unsurpassed fuel economy and 3.7-liter Ti-VCT V-6 for Edge Sport • Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Warning with Brake Support allows the driver to set the vehicle’s speed and maintain it without using the accelerator pedal, and warns the driver of a potential collision risk. It also helps reduce speed and automatically pre-charges brakes and engages an electronic brake assist system to help drivers stop more quickly when the system detects a collision is imminent. • Blind Spot Information System (BLIS®) with Cross Traffic Alert is a feature that can help detect vehicles in blind spots during normal driving and traffic approaching from the sides when reversing out of parking spots. • MyKey is designed to allow parents to encourage teenagers to drive safely and more fuel efficiently, and increase seat belt usage. The standard MyKey feature allows owners to designate keys that can limit the vehicle’s top speed and audio volume. • Easy Fuel Capless Fuel-Filler System is a standard Ford-exclusive feature that uses an integrated spring-loaded flapper door to eliminate the need for a fuel tank screw cap. Not a lot of changes huh? Wouldn't expect a lot of bugs? So three new engine choices, MyFord Touch, MyKey, and ACC are just refinements. Well then go get yourself a 2011 and report back to us after 6 months of usage.
  19. ^ Please do NOT pay attention to anything this man types. He is only here to "stir the pot" and doesn't even own an Edge or MKX.
  20. Just because you live in Canada doesn't mean you have driven in all driving conditions. There are areas in the US that have made chains or studded tires mandatory. Overkill or prevention from being killed?
  21. My dealer offers loaners as long as you call ahead and request one. Audi was the same way.
  22. Don't they have loaner cars? ...rental options? They should offer you some kind of vehicle if your car is under warranty.
