  1. Well if two people are telling you the same thing then you obviously have an issue. How is Ford going to "iron out" issues on a vehicle with 3 new engines/new electronics/new suspension? If everything is being newly implemented then when was the market time to iron these things out? LOL Is it only me that knows that make absolutely no sense at all? Oh wait, Waldo has common sense. :yup: Technologically the 2011 is going to be more advanced than previous models. That is obvious. The new changes, which there are many, will bring about new issues.
  2. Enemy, take it down a few notches. You're taking everything that I say as a personal insult. I believe one of my first posts says "I'd never buy a first model year vehicle". You can do whatever your heart desires. Go buy a Prius for all I care. Fact is when you compare first year models to the same models following years there are going to be more issues that first year. This is true for just about any manufactered product out there. Yes you take a gamble with any car but the odds you'll have an issue during the first model year are greater. My facts arent based on complaints but based on TSB's and recalls released by the manufacterurs. Pretty easy to look up those statistics. Maybe you should try it? Sorry to tell you this "Refresh" has 3 new engines and all new electronics. Im pretty sure the suspension components are different as well. So yes this is a "Refresh" on the exterior but everything else is new. My Edge is a 2010 and if you read some of the posts on this board you'll see this same problem has been occuring on the Edge since 2007. I dont have a "bad taste" per say but more so annoyed with the fact that Ford neglected this well known issue until now. It doesn't make me want to run out and purchase another Ford. Again, feel free to buy a 2011.
  3. Maybe you don't follow the car market that closely but I can name 15 vehicles off the top of my head that were an owners nightmare their first model year. When you get a chance do a little research yourself. Lastly, I dont think anyone on this board wants to be inconvenienced by bringing their car in every other week for a problem. If you read some of the posts on this board you would see owners having their car in the shop longer than they've had it at home. Others bringing it in for the same issue over and over again. I'd be happy if I never got to use my warranty. Unfortunately im waiting for a part that is currently on backorder to fix the thumping my car makes on incline acceleration. At least Ford has FINALLY came forward to say there is an issue and they are working on manufacturing a fix.
  4. I doubt Ford is going to offer many incentives on a brand new model. If you have a X-plan PIN the dealer will give you a print out of all the costs. Just make sure they don't add any additional costs to the final price.
  5. Congrats!!! Post some pics when you can. :happy feet:
  6. ^ To the two above posts. I tested the Zaino against the Meguiars myself years ago and like I said its just an overpriced product that some people feel the need to hype up on car forums. The pictures of your TA don't impress me because we have no background on the car. I've had several different cars that were used as summer weekend cars. Those cars would see 3-4k miles max a year and garage kept at all times. I wouldn't even bring them out in the rain. The paint on some of those 10-20 yr old cars were near flawless. I do a full detail on my everyday driver three times a year and wash them every weekend. If you're applying mequiars or any detailing product quick and easy then you're obviously doing it wrong. It usually takes me two days and a total of 8 hours to do a full detail. Coming from someone who has detailed as a hobby for 17 yrs save yourself the extra cash.
  7. Overpriced. Mequiars gets you the same results for 1/4 of the price.
  8. The 2007-2010 are the same.
  9. There is a button on the key fob, to the left of the steering column, and inside the cargo area on the left hand side. So to me using one finger to close the door is much easier than using one arm. Of course someone that doesn't have the system will say it's not necessary but it is a convenient option.
  10. I know what they look like but I dont know what yours look like. As in condition. Curb rash....etc. What's your email?
  11. ^ I knew someone would point that out and I had my money on you.
  12. They are identical on the inside as far as space.
  13. Three new engines choices and all new electronics give me reason to shy away. Not to say everyone will have issues but the odds are certainly greater in the first model year.
  14. You also get the added bonus of being Ford's test dummy. I'd never buy a first model year vehicle.
  15. Do you realize this thread is a year old? Why would you ask that question in this thread?
  16. Pics or it didnt happen. :happy feet:
  17. You could bake them at a low temp to break the seal. Use epoxy to reseal them properly.
