  1. Hate to be the barer of bad news but if this chemical ate through some of the chrome clading then your only option is to replace the damaged parts. If it is only surface damage you might give a clay bar a try but it looks like you've tried harsher cleaners to no avail. Good luck!
  2. Congrats!! We would all love to see some pics. :hyper:
  3. My mistake. I just peeked under my Edge and those "unknown devices" are also mufflers. Looks like the system has a resonator and three mufflers. This was my first time taking a look at the system and judging from your pics I thought they were cats. A new catback will definitely be benefical.
  4. I'm pretty sure cutting off your catalytic converters will not only sound horrible but it would also be illegal. If you wanted a "beefy" sounding exhaust you should have bought a v8 but if you want a more throaty exhaust note get yourself a Magnaflow exhaust. There are also several threads here in which people have posted pics of their aftermarket exhaust setup. Good luck which your search!
  5. Most people dont have both and wouldn't mind the extra hp and mpg. You don't need a sports car to go fast. My last car was a luxury sedan that could outperform most "sports cars". If you want a raspier sound with a potential loss in hp just go ahead and remove the resonator. You'll sound just like every other beater in your neighborhood with a corroded exhaust system. I never understood why people buy nice things and then turn them into the biggest POS with ridiculous mods. That's just my opinion of course. (Throw in the obvious "opinions are like aholes" comment) In the end it's your car and you have to drive it. BTW it's a crossover and not an SUV. If you don't know about fast SUV's maybe you can take a look at a Jeep SRT8 or Cayenne Turbo. Fast crossover? You can start with the 390hp FX50. Anything can go fast. All you have to do is step out of the box.
  6. No real point to this mod except to make noise. I'd rather pick up a nice mandrel bent exhaust that would free up a few extra hp.
  7. The neons attached to the dash make the car look cheap. Other than that good job on the mods. I'm glad my 2010 already came with ambient lighting and illuminated door sills.
  8. I dont think three new topics stating the same thing is enough. Why dont you start three more?
  9. Did you bother reading the current topics? http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/4190-clunk-noise-on-acceleration/page__pid__37515__st__0&&do=findComment&comment=37515
  10. I find it funny you call me a troll yet this thread and discussion has nothing to do with you and you decide to make a comment.
  11. I simply agreed with L1TECH who posted above me and you decided to argue with me about my remark. Can I not answer your question "You realize they are forged correct? I'm not so sure you will find a set of Forged 22's plus Tires for under $2800."? I hope you get what you want for them but dont ask a question and then get upset when someone answers it.
  12. I realize they are forged and weigh 41lbs and 76lbs with stock tires. I can find many sets that are forged, weigh less, look better, and cost under $2800. BTW anyone that pays list price is not playing with a full deck or has money to burn.
  13. I have to agree with this statement. For $2800 I can get myself some great looking wheels and tires that will weigh less and look better than those sports. $1500 sounds fair.
  14. Ford does have some good cars but I wouldnt put them up against the Euro market. They are out of their league when compared to Audi and BMW. As far as money I like to get the best bang for my buck and paying a few K extra for a different grille and some Lincoln badges isnt exactly a smart buy in my mind. Implying that you're not worried about "$" when you drive an 07 Lincoln honestly made me chuckle. Unlike you I have a love for all cars and not just Ford products. Even though I like my Edge I wouldnt consider it the end all.
  15. I find it funny that you drive a Ford with plastic hub caps glued on to a rim and you're calling Euro car owners ricers.
  16. I say do it in vinyl. That way if you want to make a change down the rood you'll just have to peel it off. I suggest going with a gloss black so it looks painted. This mod is popular with the Euro crowd.
  17. Painting your brakes red will only accent the fact that their stock. I would paint them silver or black just to clean them up. If you're going with a BBK then red is acceptable. That's just my opinion though.
  18. Here are the California laws. •R1: Snow chains required; snow tires OK. This basically requires all cars without snow tires (even 4WD cars without snow tires on all four wheels) to put snow chains on before proceeding any further; you'll often have to pass a checkpoint where the CHP or Caltrans check for this. This at least allows normal cars with good tires through without putting chains on. Even if you have snow tires, most cars must still carry chains under these conditions (this may also be checked at a checkpoint). In California, a snow tire is pretty much any tire that the manufacturer has certified "M+S" (mud and snow) or similar on the sidewall, and / or that the CHP or Caltrans thinks will pass muster. A lot of modern tires with good all-weather tread patterns will do the trick here; if in doubt, put chains on anyway, or ask at the checkpoint ahead of time. •R2: Snow chains required; 4WD with snow tires OK. This is the most common requirement, basically restricting chain-free travel to 4WD vehicles with snow tires on all four wheels. Once again, you must still carry chains even with 4WD, and you may have to pass inspection at a checkpoint. •R3: All vehicles snow chains required. This is pretty obvious — there's a lot of snow and ice ahead, and no one's going to get through without putting chains on, 4WD or not. AWD plus winter tires are good enough for most conditions but not all. ..and that "driver skill" comment is bullshit because even the most experienced driver can make a mistake.
  19. Is the OP serious or is this a joke?
  20. Michelin Latitude Tours. Outstanding all around tire.
