Just like you did right? Wait....You can still see me. :backtotopic:

That of course is your opinion. I too have used them in the past but have no need or desire to use a product that could POTENTIALLY damage my engine components.
-
Im guessing that is from the K&N website? Of course they're going to say that. What did you think it would say? LOL
-
First, if you search you will find more than one case where the warranty was voided because of a K&N. Second, my MPG also improved during what people refer to as "the break in period". I've seen gains from just over 14mpg to now just over 18mpg. That is calculated by the total miles driven on tank divded by the total fillup in gallons. The computer is not accurate. Third, im not making "unclaimed facts", whatever that is, im simply stating what has been talked about for years between thousands of enthusiats. Lastly, "performance minded/engine builders" also use the Tornado Intake but that doesnt mean it works. There are many products available in the aftermarket that will decrease performance and it is up to the consumer to reaseach and decide what is best for them.

It's been debated time and time again that it is possible that the oil from these filters can do damage to the MAF. It could also give dealerships a reason to void your warranty. If you search the net you'll find thousands of posts debating both sides. IMO better safe then sorry. Gas savings? Slim to none at best. It is very possible with a CAI on certain vehicles. In regards to the Edge intake it works well as is and any changes may lead to drop in gas mileage and performance.

2010 Edge Limited question please help
MOFSTEEL replied to slomo_01's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
Ouch, first model year and PTU come to mind. Also higher interest rates and no warranty. I'd definitely opt for the new car. Don't need to deal with all the first model year issues when you have a busy schedule and two kids. If anything id say take a close look at a new Hyundai Santa Fe. -
You can pick these up for less than $40 on Amazon. I dont see you getting more than $15 for it.

That display isnt acurate. I suggest logging your miles and divide by the number of gallons in your fill up.

26k really isnt expensive. With negotiating shehe could get a NEW Edge in the low 20s. Sounds like she/he needs the room and a reliable vehicle and the Edge is just that. -
Production Tracking - Have VIN for 10 Edge Limited

Here is your window sticker. http://services.forddirect.fordvehicles.com/inventory/WindowSticker.pdf?vin=2FMDK4KC1ABB49085 -
The ebay seller has over 4500 sales. You have 1 on this forum. Also any reputable body shop can cut a hole for a hitch before painting. In fact, any half-competent human being can do so in less than 10 minutes. Shipping for an item that large will be more than $50 and I would consider it used since it already has been opened and in your possession. IMO you need to be at 750 with free shipping to sell. Even then I wouldnt consider buying from someone who is only a member on here to sell things. Not trying to ruin your sale but im sure everyone on here is thinking the same thing.

2010 Edge Limited question please help
MOFSTEEL replied to slomo_01's topic in Buying, Leasing & Ordering
Depending on the incentives in your area there is a VERY good chance you can get into a brand new Edge for 26k or less. For example in my area Ford is offering 4k cash back and 0% financing for up to 60 months. That's 4k off the sticker price even before negotiating. You should be able to get another $1500-2k off of that price depending on the model and options. Don't settle for a car that's been in an accident when you can have brand new for the same or even less. Do your research. You won't get that $4k off and 0% interest rate on a used Edge so you'll end up spending more for used. Just another tip: If you order a FREE Edge brochure from the Ford website you will get a $750 coupon good towards the purchase of a NEW Edge. -
These sell for $900 with FREE shipping on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD-EDGE-3DCARBON-8PC-BODY-STYLING-KIT-2007-10-_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem414ec42687QQitemZ280494352007QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

It really could go either way. The wheel is larger but weighs about the same as the 20" wheel because the 22" sport wheel is forged. There are so many things that go in determining the gas mileage of a vehicle. I doubt anyone can give you a correct answer without knowing variables such as driving conditions, temperatures, gas used, and driving style just to name a few. It is very possible to get better gas mileage than a prius owner if that prius owner has a lead foot. In the end I wouldnt worry about it cause if it really was that important to you then you would have asked this question before you bought the car. Now enjoy your new Edge and post some pics.

Congrats!! Here are some sound clips of the Magnaflow.

how to remove black plastic on outside of door
MOFSTEEL replied to da0023's topic in Exterior & Body
I don't think any of the above products mentioned will help. Since you used a scotch pad and scratched the surface a product that removes oxidation won't do you any good. Looks like each lower door panel will run you about $60. At least you learned a lesson and this is something you wont be doing again. -
Sell it and buy a new car. Problem solved.

Check ebay or Craigslist. I believe there is someone who has them up on Craigslist in the Chicago area.
