  1. Our 2010 is FWD and it does the same thing. Wether its normal or not I don not know (even though I will assume that it is) since it only does it when the road is slick (ice/snow) My guess is that the breaks are functioning to reduce/stop the wheel spin when the traction control engages. As for the flickering of the light. Ours will flash about 2 or 3 times and then stop. You could take it to the Dealer and have it looked at, but its probably nothing.
  2. Personally I think the Edge is geared towards Females as are most SUV/CUV. I mainly see women driving these vehicles and an Article in USA Today shows that "44% of Escape buyers are women, vs. 32% of Explorer buyers; women are 55% of Liberty buyers." Now theres nothing wrong with men driving SUV/CUV and doesn't reflect on their manliness. Im just making an observation. As far as gloves and the new touch panel for the Temp control, Waldo is correct. Regardless of who the drive is and wether it cold enough to warrant wearing gloves, it will effect the functionality of the touch interface for adjusting the weather.
  3. :read: Was looking at more photos of the 2011Edge .... Looks like they are not interested in rear passenger climate/audio control Below is the rear climate control from the Acadia
  4. Thanks for the Link. Its sad that clad is the only option for the limited. Looks like the memory seats have not changed either [or at least their site doesn't elaborate on wether the lumbar and seat position is included in the memory seat option]
  5. Believe the part # is 19G364 for the kit and you should be able to purchase it from any Ford Dealer [i Think]
  6. The 2010 Manual says "LOW FUEL LEVEL will display when you have approximately 50 miles (80 km), to empty. Press RESET to clear this warning message. It will return at approximately 25 miles (40 km), 10 miles (16 km) and 0 miles (0 km) miles to empty." I too like the wheels on both the Sport and the Se/Sel/Limited. [Hopefully they are not Clad. The images for the SE/SEL/Limited appear to be real chrome. Would actually prefer polished or forged aluminum though]
  7. No I didn't realize that... Thanks!
  8. +1 Why did I buy the 2010 Just kidding, but the interior upgrades, new appearance, MyFord/MyTouch, increased power, etc... look very promising and desirable. Does anyone know if they have included true memory seats [where it adjusts the lumbar, height, and position of the seat]. I am very proud of our Domestic manufacturers! The 2011 seems to fix the little things which prior Edges fell short on. My wife and I feel like they have several fantastic ideas which are "almost there" (i.e seats, cladded wheels, the fuel distance meter stops and displays "fuel low" instead of how many more miles is left. So in essence we feel like our Edge is 99% in getting it right. Looks like the 2011 Edges are 100% there. Nevertheless, our 2010 Limited is fantastic and the 2011 seems simply impressive! :shades:
  9. Its not hard at all. If you purchased the flip key from eBay the seller will include/give you very simple instructions on how to program the transponder as well as the keyless entry. Note for the transponder you will need 2 preprogramed keys to get this to work. I would post the instructions but post something w/o the sellers consent. Depiry [artiway] is the one selling them. I purchased 2 flip keys and they work perfectly on or 2010 Limited :shades:

Thanks for your reply MOFSTEEL! Its good to know that its easy to learn considering the Edge is my wife's car [she does very well with electronics so I really wasn't worried about that too much though] Right now we are using the 36 mo free Sync Services [Traffic, Directions, etc...] which is great, but it dials into their Services Act and then downloads the directions to the vehicles storage. Its good for the most part, but sometimes if you detour, you will have to dial back in to get an updated route. Also we are accustom to being able to see in advance where we are going. Another draw back to using Sync Services is that we only can use one phone as an active phone in order to use the services unless I pay a yearly fee [which isn't too much] Considering we will keep the Edge for a while. I will more than likely buy the Navi Unit and install it. I have heard of issues with Sync so if I install it my self I will post how/if I get it to work or I might just allow Ford to Install it. Just found out that the Traffic, weather, gas prices, movie listings are linked to Sirius Travel Link, which is a 6 mo free service for Ford owners w/ Navi. After that if you want those features you will have to pay a monthly subscription see link http://www.sirius.com/travellink/faq . Guess I will stick with our current setup or at least for now.

The weather Techs look fantastic in your ride! :shades: Also how do you like the Navi Unit? Does it show traffic, weather, POI, Favorites, etc... Also is it fairly accurate?
  12. Unfortunately our dealer didn't have a limited model with Navigation. Has anyone installed Ford's navigation unit while being able to keep all the sync functions and steering wheel controls. We have the 3.1 version of sync so I would probably need to order their latest unit. Also how does everyone like it? From what I have read the audio is bad, but does the maps show traffic, weather, etc...... Thanks
  13. Can we get a pic of exactly where you applied the glue? Thanks
  14. Yea the S4 really likes oil. Thankfully our A4 only take about 5 quarts. Unfortunately its a canister type filter and its placement is PITA to get to specially if the engine is warm. With a conventional drain I get most if not all 5 quarts out. Our 3 series takes 6.5 quarts but usually I get about 5 quarts per drain (the conventional way). This is where I will be able to see if the extractor works better. On the Edge you will have the same results as the Audi when draining the conventional way [getting roughly all 5.5 quarts out] As far as Pela vs TopSider vs others.... I think they are all the same. I only went with the Topsider since I could get it locally. Also its not that expensive and hold 2 gals.
  15. My main reason for getting the TopSider are for: 1) Trans/differential fluid changes 2) BMW Oil Changes 3) Radiator fluid changes 4) Power steering fluid changes 5) Brake fluid changes 6)Easily Reduce Over Fills [Trans/differential/engine/brake/PS/etc] Main reason for the EZ Drain is to help drain over filled engine oil for our Edge Also something which is up for debate is that the oil extractor may get more oil out than conventional drains. [Not sure about this, but I will compare when I do an oil change on our vehicles] Also Time is not readily available for me as it once was in the past. Hence, I have to be more efficient and maximize every second I have. :shades:
  16. UPDATE: I tried out the topsider to see if it would reach the bottom of the oil pan. I did not use it to extract the oil since I am not due for an oil change. As far as reaching to the bottom of the oil pan it did it with ease. It did not get caught up nor did I have to twist and wiggle my way through. Just simply place it down the dipstick tube and voila you will reach the bottom of the pan. Its available at many Northern Tools stores [ http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_6970_390306_390306 ] , Amazon, etc.... Hope this helps
  17. Is the TSB for all years? We have an 2010 Limited with just a bit over 3000 miles. We have the same noise as well, but its nothing major since it seems that all the seals are tight. We only hear it if the radio is off as well. Will close the shade to see if the nose still persists.
  18. The Fram Sure drain I believe lays a bit higher inside the pan than Either the Dorman or the Fumoto. I bought the Dorman and a Liquivac Topside Oil Changer. I am not in need of an oil change yet, so I cannot test out wether the Dorman will lay flush inside the Oil pan or not. Also, once the weather clears up a bit I will test the Liquivac Topside Oil Changer to see if it reaches the bottom. I will let you guys know sometime this weel if the Topsider works or not and later on when its time for an oil change I will try to Dorman. This is what the Dorman EZ Drain Looks like which can be found at Oreilly's [ http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/DOR1/092005.oap?keyword=092-005 ]
  19. We have the FWD version w/ 20" Pirelli Scorpion all season and no complaints so far :shades: The funny thing is that today we were driving up a relatively steep hill and there was a 4x4 which was struggling to get up an Icy/snowy hill, while we just effortlessly passed him by. Sharp turns do cause some slippage, but nothing major, just for a split second the tires will slip and then the traction control kicks right in and we are off with no problems. :shades:
  20. I purchased a flip key for our 2010 Edge and no problems at all. Wether you are interested in just a remote or a flip key. You WILL NOT have any problems. Hope this helps
  21. I'm not sure if every Ford has the same dipstick shaft or not... From what I have read the Expedition and some Rangers have problems. The proposed issue is with the bend and narrowing near the end. It seems that the shaft tapers in as it gets closer to the pan. I am not 100% since I haven't experienced it myself. I may end up buying both the EZ Drain Plug [For the Edge] and the Pela or the Liquivac Topside Oil Changer for our other vehicles and other used such as changing the Trans fluid etc... If I get the extractor I will post back to let you all know if it reached the oil pan of the edge or not.
  22. well I think I found another alternative  ..... its the Dorman EZ Drain $10 [they are at Oreilly's and Advance Auto] The parts which may fit are the 092-005 [Thread Size: M12 - 1.75] or 092-001 [Thread Size: 12" - 20] [Note: that on either OReill'y or Adv Auto online catalogue it doesn't claim to fit the Edge. However, the thread matches]
  23. It may be a bit too early to tell, however, given the low temp and timeframe since you have had the Edge back. You may be ok. A definitive answer will come through the test of time, but lets hope that Ford got it right this time. :hyper:
  24. Thanks MOFSTEEL, Chainsaw2608, & Marty. :stop: I guess I will try to extractor since we have several cars. That way I will not have to buy a drain plug for each and every vehicle. UPDATE: Not sure the oil extractor will work on our Edge. I've read that the tubing gets stuck 3/4 down the dipstick for Ford cars. So now I will either go with the Fumoto or probably just leave everything as it is.... [i always have a problem with trying to mod/improve what works perfectly well ] As far as running over any foreign objects. I would only have to worry about the Edge since our other cars have a Splash Shield/belly pan to protect the drain plug. Of course, any extra feedback is welcome :shades:
  25. If you want to pair more than one phone just make one primary and the other as secondary, etc... This link gives simple step by step directions http://www.syncmyride.com/Own/Modules/SupportContent/UsingSyncSupport.aspx?hdi=11 also see attached pdf for compatible phones and which features work and which ones do not. Hope this helps sync_us_EN_iop_1_30.pdf
