Tony I too was feeling like you before I took delivery of my Ltd. I was reading all the posts about re-booting (the infamous fuse #29, iphone4 not synching, screen blacking out etc.... To date I have not experienced any of this sans the screen lag (knock on wood) and the lag is not very disconcerting. Overall the car has been great!!! I am so glad I ordered it. There were some very tempting deals on 2010 Edges (9K off sticker) but I really wanted the new Edge as I was coming off of an "07 Edge. For me the wait was definitely worth it. Mine is Bordeaux Reserve Red and it is absolutely beautiful - Outstanding color! Also, remember on forums you almost always see more negative than positive comments. It is a place where people share experiences and vent/seek advice. Keep the faith and think positive; it's a really nice car. Enjoy it!

I've had my Ltd. for a week and a half now and have yet to accidentally turn on the flashers too. Like you said it is slightly recessed but I also find that I have to hold my finger over it for lil over a second to activate it. I think it's great. On the iPhone4 issue I connect mine using the USB cable. It indexes and transfers album art. I can browse, ff, rev, and pause via the touchscreen. When I turn on the car the iPhone automatically syncs via BT for making or receiving calls. So I use BT for phone, USB for songs. I've had no luck with the iPhone contact photos though.

Yes. I believe it's been available a couple of months now. You'll have to register (and activate your mobile phone) at www.syncmyride.com before you can use it.

That's the date the order was sent to the plant. Build dates do not appear on window stickers. That's what I was told by the Ford CRC.

Had the Conties on my '07 Edge. Treadwear was at 5/32 at lease end (53k miles and 39 months). Rotated them every 7,500 miles They wore very well! I don't expect the same result from the Michelins.

All of the Sirius Travel Link services work for me. I have a 2011 Edge Limited It was manufactured on 9/10. The dealer set everything up for me before I went to pick it up. Hope you get yours resolved soon.

Hi All, Not a biggie but does anyone know how to get the iPhone's phonebook contact photos to download so they appear on the touch screen alongside the contact telephone numbers? I have the setting to download contact photos enabled but the pictures don't display. Other than that everything else works fine: phone syncs up everytime, displays all call information, can control ipod via touch screen using usb.

+1.... I've had my Limited for two days now and have yet to accidentally turn on the hazard flasher. I've heard some folks say that theirs turns on if they breathe on it. Fortunately that hasn't been my experience. On the subject of the seats - they are not hard at all. I turned in a leased 2007 SEL and let me to you those "were" hard. The leather in my 2011 is miles softer.

Just picked up my Bordeaux Reserve Red 2011 LTD. Edge tonight and all I can say is WOW! It looks fantastic!!! and handles and rides great! I haven't had much time to look at all the features but did try out a few things. iPhone 4 pairs up nicely. The phonebook auto-downloaded in seconds and voice quality over bluetooth is great on both ends. I use the dock connector cable connected to the USB port. The songs, artists etc...are displayed on the center screen and I can control (play - fast forward - reverse - pause) via the touch screen. NAV works great. I just came off of a 2007 Edge lease and this 2011 NAV is much better. The display is superior and the database is obviously more up to date than the one in my 2007. The HD Radio is great - very clear; just wish there were more HD stations available. BLIS works very well. I find Key fob a good size; definitely not as large as I thought it was going to be based on some forum posts. The Sirius Travel Link Service also works great. It shows traffic on all the nearby roads and alerts about incidents (I guess that means accidents); It also showed roads that had ongoing construction. The weather service is nice - not sure how often I will use it though. The ability to look up local gasoline prices and Theater movies is a nice treat. I will try the other Travel Link services tomorrow. I'm really impressed with the interior (and overall) design Ford has done with the 2011Edge. I will try and post more observations and maybe a picture soon.

Is the 6gen the new tiny one being advertised now on TV? How are you connecting it to the Edge?

This morning the Ford CRC confirms that My LTD has been built and is still "awaiting shipment" to NJ. It's been "awaiting shipment" since 9/14. The ETA is still 9/25. I ordered it on 8/11. Dealer had said 6 - 8 weeks. That looks to be right on. According to the sticker the method of transportation is convoy (truck carrier) so travel to NJ should just be one or two days.

I currently have an '07 Sel Plus AWD (my 2011 Edge eta is 9/25) and it is an absolute bear in the snow. You made a good choice.

Stretch are you upgrading with the Ford 20s? If so, how is your dealer handling this? Is the price for the 20s the same as if it was ordered as an option on your original order? I ask because I decided against the 20s when I placed my order but am reconsidering. My build date is this week.

Still waiting on delivery but was wondering: If the Navigation SD card goes in the SD card reader that is located below the armrest is it prone to theft? The reader is supposedly spring loaded so it would appear that the card could be removed without powering on the car. Does this ease of access mean that to be cautious we should remove the NAV SD card when valet parking etc...? I would hope some kind of display indicating "NO NAV" would appear upon turning the car on if the card is missing. Also the cards are supposedly encrypted. But, can a copy be made provided it is for use in the same vehicle (vin)?

Garden State Ford on route 22 in Hillside is only a couple of miles away from Maplecrest and has (5) 2011 Edges on their lot.

Just saw a delivery truckload of 2011 Edges on the NJ Turnpike yesterday afternoon. :yup:

I have corrosion on the alloy "lip" of my Edge's wheels. The chrome clad is "not" affected. I have 37,500 miles on it. The lease will end in Sept. 2010 (i have paid in advance for extra miles). Is this corrosion considered normal wear and tear or will Ford charge an excess fee at lease end?

Am I missing something or does the Edge not come with tie-downs in the cargo area? If so, that would be a major oversight (IMHO) on Ford's part. Any objects placed back there could come flying towards the front in a hard braking situation. There doesn't even appear to be any kind of hook for a cargo net. Someone please tell me I'm wrong.

Thanks Jimmerz What I actually want is someway to cover up large items such as luggage, golf bag, shopping bags etc... so that when I am on the road and have to stop somewhere these larger items won't be visible from outside.

Hi All New owner here :yup: . Just got a Carbon Metallic / Lt. Stone and was surprised to see that there is no rear cargo shade/cover option. I know the Edge has privacy glass but one can still peek inside the rear from outside. Any ideas for covering up any items that are laying in the rear ? Are there any aftermarket shades (adjustable maybe?) that might somehow fit into the Edge. Thanks.
