  1. Here is a rear picture of the 2011, can't really tell if they are stainless but looks about the same as what is on the 2010
  2. The place that sells the tires to you should tell you want size you will need so your speedometer will read correctly. try here http://www.wildweasel.ca/HowTo/Auto/TireCalc.aspx maybe 225-55-20? with a larger rim you will get a harder-stiff ride? because of the lower profile. Do you have 18" now?
  3. Owner of a new 2010 SEL FWD. On my first fill up I noticed while filling the pump would shut off early. Looking how many kilometers I had driven that with the amount of fuel I put in didn't make sense. It cut out at 35 liters but I was sure it should take more so I slowly started the pump and only to have the pump shut off again. I eventually went from 35 liters to 50 before I gave up, stopping and starting, no fuel spilled out, even pulled the nozzle out a bit to allow air to escape. I have been to 2 different stations and used different pumps only to find no difference, pump shuts off early. Has anybody noticed this with their Edge? slow fill up? cutting out early? With my previous cars I never had this problem. Did a search couldn't find anything. Found this on Edmunds http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/WebX?14@@.f14f099/0
  4. just in case you missed it from another thread http://www.wikihow.com/Change-the-Oil-in-Your-Car
  5. I pre fill my oil filters also except for ones that are installed horizontally, but I can get some oil in it and quickly install it hoping not to lose too much oil. the link is a oil change procedure, bottom of step #5 touches on filling the filter before installing. The video says to change the oil when the car has cooled down, I don't I change it when its hot, drains faster and more complete, I use very thick rubber gloves so as not to get burned. http://www.wikihow.com/Change-the-Oil-in-Your-Car
  6. I was told the factory tint is 23% so yes 20% would be close
  7. If Ford does use a special break in oil or additive or a synthetic blend they should say so. Whats the secret? But you brought up good points for discussion?
  8. I picked up some Gold Class Rich Leather Cleaner/Conditioner by Meguiars. Has anybody else used this product? Thoughts. Thanks http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/product_detail.asp?T1=MEG+G10916 and a link to bob is the oil guy forum on waxing and detailing thread on leather http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=1716758&nt=8&page=1
  9. Ended up at 35% on the fronts, looks pretty close to the rears, didn't want to go darker as going darker I might get hassled from the police. We have no phone use while driving here so if the police cant see the driver because of too dark tints they will start pulling over cars with too dark tints. The place that did my tints said he is getting more cars with dark tints having them removed and installing a light tint 35%
  10. I haven't bought the rears but they look short also, doesn't go under the front seat far enough for my liking, the huskies look better. For the cargo I just bought a burber carpet and cut it to fit, From what I have seen and heard the cargo mat works great.
  11. Going to tint my front windows to match the back factory tints. I was told by a tinter that the factory tints are 13 or 23%, can't remember what he said. The max tint that seems to work without being hassled by the police for tints being too dark for front door windows is 35%. If I go 35% than it won't match the rear tints. Has anyone tinted their windows and if so at what %? pictures? Thanks
  12. Wish Ford would have used gas struts to keep the hood up instead of the prop up rod, bean counters at work..
  13. No the Edge does not have a gear display on the dash, you have to look down to see what gear you are in, D, L, etc., does not show gears 1 to 6 anywhere, Ford dropped the ball by not displaying the gears.
  14. My only concern is the dead peddle area, wife has a habit of putting her feet on it and if part is exposed the carpet will get soiled, will have to make sure she does put her dirty shoes on it. Thanks for the pic.
  15. Kosh any chance of a photo of your Huskies driver side mat. Thanks Ron
  16. Bought a front set of weather tech digital floor mats for my 2010 Edge. I am disappointed in the fit, by that I mean they do not go high enough up the foot wheels. See enclosed picture of the fit at the driver side. The dead peddle is still showing, the mat does not go high enough to cover it. So part of my shoe will rest on the unprotected area., in winter this unprotected area will get its share of salt from winter boots. The same is true for the passenger side, see pictire, the mat does not go high enough. I am tall 6'1" and when I sit in the passenger seat and stretch out half of my feet are resting on the carpet. For the money I would have expected a better fit. The over all fit is excellent at the edges-corners but they cheaped out with the length to cover more of the carpet. What other alternatives are there? A better over all fit? Suggestions Thanks Ron
  17. No whir noise from my engine, ask the service adviser to start other 2010 on the lot and listen if they do the same.
  18. read the information Guide for Maintenance booklet and sure enough there it was on page 22, can't believe I missed it. 6 months or 8,000KM (5,000 Miles) what ever comes first. Has anybody done their first oil change sooner than 6 months or 8,000KM for reasons of possible metal still in the engine?
  19. Just bought a new 2010 Edge, The maintainable schedule for oil changes shows the first change at 8,000KM or 5000 miles, no mention of a time, months. I do about 8,000KM in 6 months, should I change it by time, months or stick to the 8,000KM intervals as per the schedule. Thanks Ron
  20. I had a rattle behind the driver, back door area. Pounded my fist against the door panels etc, now no rattle, might return when it gets a little colder, might be a temperature effect the plastic issue? If all fails get the hammers out and threaten the area, it might see sense
  21. Has anybody installed a hood bug-stone deflector? If so do you get any wind noise from it or any other issues with it. http://www.weathertech.ca/store/mvproduct.aspx?ItemGroupId=5 Thanks
  22. When does my Sirius free subscription start as it was already activated when I bought the vehicle? who activated it? how will Sirius know what date I purchased the vehicle? should it start at the day I purchased the vehicle?
  23. Try Weather Tech, they have a stone and bug deflector for the hood.
