If you didn't have to back up and turn to go you would have probably been fine. Expecting a big storm like that, back into your driveway for a running start the next day.

My dealer hasn't successfully completed any of these updates. I am thinking eventually we all have to get it as I think future updates will build off of it, but I am waiting a few more weeks. Talk to your service manager and see if you feel he is being honest with you and find out their experiences with the system.

I checked that conversion too - yep - we don't get a lot of -40 in Anchorage, but I know other parts of AK do. I think the worst we had at my house so far this winter was -16f. Pretty much after -10 it is just too damn cold.

Another weird Alaska thing - you aren't the lower 48 - you are "outside" I get to go outside in a few weeks. Can't wait!!!!!

BLOCK HEATERS!!!! plug in at 20! and heated garages. We had almost 3 weeks straight of sub zero in January and the car started great every time. Granted the only time it is outside for extended hours is at work not overnight. But that cold packed in snow and not a winterized car. not surprising to me. Block heaters come standard on cars here. Further north they even use engine blankets and you leave your car running while you grocery shop. brrrr

Of course in Anchorage - their is nothing showing - so you might have it set right and for whatever reason where you are doesn't have the 3d images.

I have the All weather Michelin 18's that came with the car. I am sure I could get better ones that would maybe stop a bit better, but I feel confident and I was tired of switching tires twice a year. Didn't want studs anymore (though that seems to be an Alaska thing) You enjoying your new ride Tripster?

Mine has handled great all winter in Alaska - we don't regularly get 10 inches of snow at one time, but we haven't seen pavement since the beginning of November. I driven many a Subaru and they don't come close to comparing on the interior or comfort. Handling is probably equal now.

Your car has GPS in it... if you have MFT - if not, sorry - was just and idea. Setting the clock 1. Press MENU > Clock. 2. Press + and — to adjust the time. From this screen, you can also access other adjustments such as 12 or 24 hour mode, to activate GPS time synchronization, and to have the system automatically update new time zones.

The seats don't get as hot with the remote start as when your car is on and you turn them on, but they are definitely not cold after running. Or at least they shouldn't be. Compare them to the back seat to see if they are warmer.

Interesting - I hope not, but couldn't confirm if mine does that. It has been below 50 the whole time I have owned mine.

For the clock issues - see if you have it synced to GPS. - If it is, turn it off, if it isn't turn it on. I don't remember which way mine is, but one of the settings caused it to change all the time.

Plus - most of the people posting are having major issues - there is still a large population that have little to no problems that never speak up. The touch screen is definitely slower/less responsive than an iPod/iPhone Apple product, but still works well. Touch a button and wait - don't keep clicking. Much like with any Microsoft product. I love mine and hopefully you will too.

The tint looks good, but lowering is something that I just don't understand. But then I live where clearance on a car is a good thing.

So, this is my first car with a back up cam - and only have had it 4 months or so.... amazing how I can no longer back up when the camera is dirty. I am not sure what has happened, but I have apparently forgotten basic backing up skills. Been trying to force myself to not use it as much.

Yes, I am very happy about them not doing it. There was just some frustrations with how it was handled. I just got off the phone with the service manager and he is great. Explained to me that everyday all day long, ford is changing the upload version. They are up to version 73 this morning. So they start trying to get a download onto a jump drive and it is different by the time they are complete. Even gone to a different location to try a different internet connection and nada - They have done one successful update in two and half weeks and currently have one car with the dash all torn apart. Just for the trouble, next time I will get my first oil change, a tank of gas, and a wash on them.

Luckily they DIDN'T even try. Dealership is still having problems with the upgrade on cars in stock and have been working on one for 2 1/2 weeks now and had to order new parts, so they decided not to try on mine. As, I specifically asked about that when I made my appointment, I am trying to get a tank of gas out of them for the troubles of leaving my car for a day. So - it will be at least a month now before mine gets done as February is all ready too busy for being without my car - it will wait. Shane - hope yours goes better on Friday.

Unfortunately there aren't a huge amount of these in Alaska yet so I am pretty sure I am one of a handful to get done, so.... fingers crossed. and toes.
