dbe
I think that the dealer that sold me my Edge replaced the tires from the factory and put on cheap ones. I think that they are doing it to others too. I'm sure they are selling them to the LOYAL costumers who come in for new tires. Can every person who reads this please tell me the type of tire on their edge. It is legal to do that? I don't remember the brand off the top of my head, but it was a weird name I've never heard of. I had Conti's (Continentals). I have heard of Michelins and Hankooks. What is the brand of tires you got? Also..go to the same dealer and walk around the lot. See what tires are on the other Edge's. If there is more than one dealer in your town, check them also.
007
Mine came with Hankooks....is this a name brand in disguise? I've never heard of the name before.....once they wear out, I'll be putting on Goodyear or Michelins.....
Good_Hands
Hankooks are very, very good tires. They sponsor a couple of road races groups - Miata Cup Series and another one..can't remember.

jeffreybehr
007, my shit is together, and I already knew they were made in Korea. I regret mixing your question with the at-best-inane statement of the original postist, dbe.
cruzininmyedge
Hankook tires are ok tires. By far not the best tires out there. They make an excelent low profile tire as does continental. However it seems that all of their testing expenses go into the low profile tires. As a person who works on Ford's I have to say I don't know what the h#$l Ford was thinking going to these tires. The conti's in my opinion are worse then the hankooks but thats not saying much eather. I have seen blow outs with 4000 miles where the tire just came apart. And were not talking about sudden loss of pressure either. Plus when ford came out with the newer f150, a good portion of them came with hankook tires. The issues were many, and many sets of tires were replaced due to vibration issues. For the most part, once these tires are gone, you will never see a set of conti's or hankooks on my edge. Plus I only have about 15000 miles and my hankook tires are already warn to 4/32nds of tread
Edgy Girl
Thanks for the info... on my previous car I replaced the Michelin (which lasted only 45K miles) which Goodyear TripleTreads - what a difference... I give my conti's one winter if they suck - I will replace them.

MKX2007
Michelin tires came on our Edge. 18" Chrome Clad wheels. What brand of tires you have will give you some indication of when your vehicle was built. The Edge started with Continentals, then went to Hankook & finally Michelin. The MKX started with Continentals & then Michelins.

Actually the 17" wheels were one brand (Conti or Hankook - I forget which) and the 18" wheels were the other brand. Which ones got replaced with Michelins? MKX2007
Which ones got replaced with Michelins? I'm not sure on that. I was looking more at the MKX, but looked at the Edge every time I went to the dealership. Actually. I didn't realize 17's were available on the Edge. I started noticing the Michelins on both cars around June.
