Help negotiating a 2012 Edge Ltd. demo

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Yesterday I saw a 2012 Edge Ltd. with the 302A package, vision package, 20" wheels, and the trailer package. It has 4300 miles on it, but it was never registered so the dealership considers it new. Apparently the owner of the dealership used it exclusively. They offered it to me at $39,000 (the price includes a $1500 rebate and 0% financing). This seems very high to me for a vehicle with 4300 miles (even though it is in pristine condition). What do you think would be a reasonable price for this vehicle? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I would think you should be able to get 7k off of msrp. If you don't know what the sticker price is go here

http://fordlabels.webview.biz/webviewhybrid/WindowSticker.aspx?vin=2FMDK3J96CBA33397 and enter the VIN where the vin shows in the address bar, and

you should see a copy of the window sticker.

Here in Texas you can get $5600 off of sticker on a 2013 with no miles. I

Seems a bit on the high side, even though it was never registered, it still has some miles on it, so it is not brand new. 0% financing will save you some nice bucks, try and get them down a bit. Check out what a 2013 with same options would cost you, then compare and make your decision.

I found the Bankston Ford prices on line here in the Dallas area and talked to a salesman. Some of their new 2013 Edges are listed at Ford A and Z plan prices BEFORE any rebates! There were no dealer add on's such as tinted windows, nitrogen filled tiers, special wax, etc. I was treated the best I have ever been at a car dealership, and there was absolutely no pressure or games played. the only draw back is that I am 50 miles from their nearest location and they didn't have what I wanted in stock, although they were willing to bring one in from one of their other dealerships.

I ended up buying a new 2013 Limited at a local dealer who honored the Bankston price and had the exact car in stock. Total off MSRP after rebates was $5812. I did pay $200.00 over the A plan price for front window tint, nitrogen filled tires, wheel locks, all season Ford rubber floor mats, and the rear cargo shade/cover. These items were all dealer installed as a part of the purchase.
