walktheOACline
Hey, has anybody heard when they plan to officiallly launch the Edge, MKX? Will they launch together or separately?
Avi8or63
Good question, probably together and middle of October would be my guess.
walktheOACline
Good question, probably together and middle of October would be my guess. Yeah, that's about what I heard too. Maybe a week earlier, like the second week in October. There have been reports of on-road sightings though, so I guess these units that are bing pushed through are making it out to the dealerships here and there. Ā Anybody heard of any delays in the launch?
robertlane
I dropped a note to Ford asking when they will arrive at dealers. Will post when I get the response. Ā Accodring to Ford, the Edge/MKX will begin arriving at dealers this December.

otp
Those are not for sale...they are Pre Production Units..... In the Town Hall meeting at OAC, the plant manager said that as of that day(Sept,11th) body and paint were running the first units through the system that are to be sold to the public. We are now making the Edge's and MKX's that will be sold. Once they have enough of them in the yard and are happy with the quality, then they will get the final order to ship. It will not be long. Bring on the Fairlane!

I'm trying to get an idea of the timing...

December sounds more like it. Anybody remember the original Windstar launch? It was to be October, then November, then December and on and on. It kind of dribbled to market. I guess there were a lot of delays back then that kept the product from the dealers.

FULLJAM
Ford is still planing on a launch date of Oct. 16 off Final assembly line. We have already built units for Job 1 launch date in the Body shop . Ford needs to look at these units and ensure that the quality is right where they want to be. Ā Ford has definately designed a very nice vehicle that I think alot of people are going to want! Ā I hope this vehicle is a hit. Ā All the employees at OAC are ready to build a world class vehicle we just need Ford to market it well. Ā Hopefully we can begin to convince people that the Japanese aren't the only ones that can build a quality vehicle. Ā Good luck Ford..God knows they need it right now. Thanks to everyone from Oakwood who are on here helping future customers out.

A couple of us received calls today about our production dates. Production is scheduled to begin October 16th and our cars are scheduled to be produced on October 23rd. Ā Just curious. My order was submitted 8-8-06. When did you submit your order? I ordered an SEL w/ Rear Sensor and Tow Package. I'm just wondering when I might see it. I heard that that Job1 is Mid-October and I should start seeing them mid/late November and "MIGHT" get mine then. Ā I've just paid my second month extension on my Explorer lease and was wondering how long I need to extend it for. Ā So, are they already making them for Job1? I thought JOB1 was October. My lease is going to be up on my Mountaineer and I would rather not have to extend it or rent another vehicle until my Edge gets here. But then again, Northwoods Winter is on the way. would beat walking, snowshoeing or skiing everywhere I went.
PFA
HI First post....and a few questions..... What did Oakville make before the Edge? Where is the CX7 built? Ā I got to sit in an Edge on Sunday. We had an openhouse at our plant and they had one there. It was very nice. Had plenty of pass. room. I put the drivers seat where I'd like it and the backseat legroom was very good for the size. Looks awesome. I might have found a replacement for my 03 Tauras. Great Job guys!!
