Newless
Hey guys, I have some extra scratch in my pocket. Looking at wrenches. What is the biggest wrench needed for a diy'er on the Edge? Besides the axle nut what should be in our toolboxes? Wrench wise. I'm thinking its 24mm which I have. I know not all wrench sets come with a 24. BIggest we need???? Edited August 26, 2017 by Newless
enigma-2
Another member, vicki1985, mentioned using a 1-1/4" socket (probably a 32 mm) on a hub. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/8329-07-sel-plus-awd-rear-bearinghub-replacement/ Edited August 26, 2017 by enigma-2
macbwt
Trying to remember but if you have sockets up to 24mm you have covered virtually everything. I have only ran across on size that is not common and that is the seat bolts and they are 18mm otherwise you are looking at the odd numbered sizes for the most part. Some suspension parts for the struts I believe required some in the 20's but do not remember what size it ended up being.
Bucknewby
Enigma is correct you'll need a 31-33 for the axle nut. It depends on if it's after market or not... they are different sizes so be warned if you bought your Edge used, there could be after market axle nits that came with new driveshafts that came with different outside diameters in the nut than OEM.
