Power steering line rupture

My 2008 edge fwd had its power steering line rust through and rupture last Saturday. Luckily I was a mile from home and pulled into the drive as the fluid ran out.

Im in Atlanta so irma has put me on hold the last few days.

I believe I can feel where the line ruptured. It's directly underneath the car and I believes a metal component that rusted through. I just can see where it connects and ends. Oreillys sold me the high pressure line but I don't see where either connection would be.

I'm thinking it's actually the return line, but when I look at those they just seem to be a Hose going back up. So the question is what piece am I looking at.

I'm pretty convinced its just the return hose that ruptured. When looking for the replacement hose, I see one that appears to match the one in the car, and then they also sell generic hose you cut to length.

Does the return line really matter as long as it secured? I'd prefer the Dorman Hose as it looks the part, but I don't really want to wait 2 weeks on their shipping.

Clip the ps belt until you can replace the hose at least you will not ruin the pump. Might drive like a dump truck but will still steer. The high pressure line is the usual suspect. you will have to jack the Edge up and remove the wheel well for better access. Removing the pump may be a better choice if you have meat paws like me.
