Can I talk to Sync when Android Auto is running?

Recommended Posts

I press on the steering wheel button instead of saying "OK Google" when my phone is plugged into the car and running Android Auto. I was just wondering if there is anyway to direct my speaking to Sync instead. For example, if I want to issue a command like changing the climate control temperature or similar.

It's a hassle to press the screen to return to sync and do something and then go back to AA.

Not that I know of. When you switch to Android Auto or Carplay voice control of SYNC is lost until you switch back to SYNC.

Not correct. Check it out. Press the "speak" button on the steering wheel once (short press) and you access Sync. Hold it down and you access Siri (or Google Assistant). Just double checked it and it works.

No - sending a text message.

Burrcold was describing how to use Hey Siri with an iPhone and use sync 3 voice commands interchangeably. You hit the voice button quickly for sync 3 and you hold it for 3 seconds and it sends the voice commands to Siri instead. But that’s not the same as Android Auto/Apple CarPlay.
