1 Keyfob to operate 2 vehicles

Recommended Posts

I just picked up my new to me 2019 Edge ST and my wife has a 2017 Flex.
Rather than carry around 2 fobs or leave one home and be potentially without when needed.

has anyone tried to program 1 fob to 2 vehicles?

my rationale....

the fobs are only communicating in one direction, to the vehicle.  So once the vehicle is programmed to work with a fob, it shouldn’t be any issue for it to be programmed to a second vehicle?  No?

Anyone see anything wrong with my rationale or point to anything that could go wrong?

The 2019 ST uses a 2-way remote at 902 MHz (US) frequency while the Flex uses a 1-way remote at 315 MHz (US). Cannot be done with the stock remotes.
