3G retirement and Navigation issues

Recommended Posts

Ford started changing over to 4G in certain 2018 my. Your 2020 has "should" have 4G but call your dealer (you'll  need your VIN) or check your sticker to be certain. Its still possible they were still installing 3G.)

Anyway, about to only thing its good for is using it to remote start via cell phone. (Required paid service). It does not effect Sync services that go through your cell phone, such as emergency services (auto call after an accident). (Unless you are still using an older 3G cellphone. If so, so carriers are turning off in February,  Verizon at end of year).

Ford has a program for free install (owners required to pay cost of new modem) for 4G modem (for 2016/17 m/y cars built between certain dates). For all others, they bear full cost if they want upgrade. (Dealer cost for modem is $238, forget billing hours for install cost).
