Pete G
Hi, I have a 2010 Edge Limited that will not start when hot. No crank, no start. If I wait like 10-20 mins, it starts right up. New battery (1yr old), new ignition switch. Interesting find though... I went out and bought an Autel MX808 and I can go into the PCM, set it for Active Test, then toggle "Starter Motor Output Detected" from off to on...then vrooom...Starts right up. EVERY time. Unfortunately, it takes about 5 mins to get to that option. I know this is NOT a long term fix, but it's nice to know I have narrowed down the problem, and found a work-around. Note- when I select the option to "ON," I hear a click in the dash. I am assuming the Autel is faking out the PCM to tell it the vehicle is ok to start now. My question is this....can anyone help me in identifying what wire this is and to where? I know it's PCM related. Does anyone have a pinout? I would like to somehow bypass this, or at the very least, change out the wire if there is a short somewhere....I just do not know where to begin. Any help is greatly appreciated! Regards, Pete G. 1004ron
Welcome. I don't have any suggestions on what's likely the cause, but would scan for codes with Forscan or Forscan Lite.
