theoldwizard1
Has anyone tried to bypass the AWD system and turn it into 4WD, at least temporarily ? On the surface this does not seem difficult.
1004ron
Not sure what you're attempting - do you mean to force it to stay in AWD which would be similar to a permanent 4WD ? I know that there's an app the BMW guys use to force it into 2WD (Rear Wheel Drive).

1004ron
I haven't heard of a software configuration that could be manipulated by the likes of Forscan. The RDU coupler can be disconnected which will make it permanent FWD.
STBEAST
AWD and 4WD are very different. I don't think whatever you are trying to do is even worth trying. If you want 4WD, buy a vehicle with 4WD. What Edge and what year do you have. For example, the Edge ST has an AWD Sport Mode (double tap the ESC button) that makes the AWD system much more active and aggressive. What model/year do you have?
