e7ats
Hello all. I have a 2021 Edge Titanium and am trying to install the Ford Alarm ML3Z-19A361-A. I am suppose to install a T harness in between the vehicle harness and the Gateway Module. I found a YouTube video for a 2020 showing the module just right of the steering, however, the two bolts holding the module in the video are empty in my Edge. Please help me locate the Gateway Module. Thank you, Paul
enigma-2
Look for the OBD-II port. (Where you plug in a scan tool.) This port is physically attached right to the bottom of the Gateway Module assembly. If you follow your OBD-II port up behind the plastic trim, your hand will go straight to the GWM. To access the module you need to remove the lower plastic trim panel located underneath the steering wheel. (It's held in place by a few plastic clips and 7mm or 10mm screws.) Once the panel is removed, look up to the right of the steering shaft. You will see a rectangular plastic module box with multiple prominent wiring harnesses plugged into it. This is the exact location where you will perform the "T-harness" pass-through installation.

e7ats
Is there any chance it could be part of the fuse block on the 21? If so, it is tucked up to the left side of the dashboard. Also, this black plug is not the same size as the one in the kit. Edited June 8 by e7ats
enigma-2
Did you start at the OBD-II port and follow the harness back?
e7ats
I follow the OBD-II harness up along the metal dashboard support, other smaller harnesses combine into it, then it goes up to the bottoms of the cluster and is fastened across a support all the way to the center display area. I lose it when it gets into there.
enigma-2
Thats all the information I have access to. Perhaps HAZ has something in the service manuals. The module is responsible for feeding information to the OBD-II port, so the cable should run directly to the module. Were there any instructions accompanying the alarm? enigma-2
Watching a video where the technician attached a pico scope to the Ford Explorer gateway module, which (on this car) is attached directly to the DLC connector. (The DLC connector is molded into the case of the gateway.) . Edited Saturday at 04:50 AM by enigma-
e7ats
Definitely not the case on this edge. I have a feeling it might be behind the screen. Are there videos on how to remove the big displays? All I’ve found are the small display removals.
omar302
The gateway location apparently was moved. Check page 17 in the installation manual here: https://www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/Catalog/accessory_files/2021_RMST_Common_I_sheet_11_5_20_D1_002.pdf
