I just purchased a used 2007 Edge SEL optioned out with a trailer package with 105,000(km) Niagara Falls Canada I take delivery of it on Feb 6. It appears to be in immaculate one owner / off lease condition. my question to the Edge community is what should should I be concerned about / particularly inspect on the Edge before I take delivery of it. tpm419419 Posted February 4, 2010 Report Share Posted February 4, 2010 If you happen to have All wheel drive then you need to watch the PTU seal. I have an '07 and had it replaced 3 times already. No problem The seal will drip onto the exhaust manifold so it will give a burning smell like a fan belt burning. Usually stopping at a light or even backing up and stopping would be a good time to notice it. Whenever you take it in for periodic service I would have them check it. Hopefully they found a permanent fix. FYI. The mirrors on the '09 which have the built in convex mirror will fit your '07. I myself just purchased an Edge last week and jsut found this place. Second, thank you tpm419419 for the note about the mirrors! I was looking at a newer Edge and liked that feature.
