Engine skip while accelerating or shuts off in idle

HI everyone

 

I own a 2010 Edge AWD LTD,I ' m experiencing problems with it. 2 months ago while i was driving down town i accelerated and the engine started kicking a few times and after the speed was regular everything was ok.A few miles after decided to try it on the highway and does the same, the next day i restarted it and the engine shuts off,retarted it ...did the same tried it for the third time and it idle great.To do a few tests by myself i founded a way to reproduced it and here it is :'' start the engine, hold the brakes on, set it to '' D '', makes it rev around 1500 RPM and a few sec later the engine starts skiping or kicking some small cut on the rpm and even some of 400-300 RPM. I tried to replace the TPS and no change, tried a new MAS and no change.NO faulty code with my scan tool,took a look a it while it was reving and with my scan all the % range for the sensors was OK.

Finnaly deceided to go to the dealer and they test a new PCM reprogramed it and did the same.......still without news or new test from the dealer.They rent me another car but it ain't mine.....

IS ANYONE HAVING THE SAME KIND OF TROUBLE WITH THERE EDGE............OR ANYONE FOUND THE WAY TO RESOLVES IT ????

Could be the same thing as some are seeing with the COPs (Coil on Plugs) that get "stuck" on and fry the coils.

thank's i 'll ask the dealer to check all and specialy the middle one (hotter than the others)

I have my Edge in the shop for the third time right now! It hesitates upon accelaration, and when cruising it even bucks. The dealer flashed the PCM and updated it, no help. Next the said there was a service bulletin out for some valve plate on the tranny. Again, no help. I havent heard anything back from them as of yet but I will ask them to check what you all are on about in this post. thanks for the info.

Finally when to the dealer to get my Edge,they let the new PCM on it even if the trouble still there.They deceided to try a new Throttle body even if i tried a new one and the problem still there......after that they deceided to clean the MASS AI FLOW even if i tried a new one...they said that finally my truck was ok, so I decide to bring my SUV back BUT a few KM from the garage the Edge started to buck once again the problem still there......so i think that i 'll go by my self, might not be as bad as the pros ???

 

I will take a look at the coils and even the crank sensor ??

Only the easiest...the one in front,that's weird it 's under warranty they can check what they like to but as i said l'll do my investigation on it.I think that for the guys there if it's not written in the shop manual there a bit confused.They can also write to the Ford thec line to ask for a guide line.

Sounds ok for the coils but for the timming advance the engine shuts off sometime on idle and it appened 2 or 3 times back to back .....

 

 

Finnaly i took off the intake yesterday to check the rear coils and no sign of burn or damage one they are all a perfect grafite gray.I'm paying attention to all way or change to the engine but i think that when it's a bit colder the engine don't skip but i will try to test it once again if it 's real or just a maner of circonstance.......

UPDATE***

I had my 2010 Edge in the shop for the fourth time, this time the wrench was lit up on the dashboard. they read the error code and sure enough it showed the throttle body was bad, this has everything to do with a hesitation becasue it wont see when you are stepping on the gas, according tot he service technician. The throttle body was replace d and the car runs amazing once again. the trottle body had been previously checked and had not shown any errors the first time.
