  1. After reading everyone here, I just called up Sirius and cancelled. I picked up my new '11 MKX on Oct 31, 2010. After my 6 free months of Sirius I subscribed for a year on May 2nd, 2011. I paid $210 total for Sirius Select + Traffic + Travel Link + tax, etc., which I now realize was stupid. I recently received 2 e-mails from Sirius stating my subscription had expired. 11 months after I started my YEAR subscription. I checked thier website and was informed I could renew my existing plan another year for $248, which is over 15% increase over last year's price. I came here and read everyone's comments which prompted me to call Sirius directly and not bother with the website. After 15 minutes of Muzak and automated sales pitches I was finally was able to talk to a customer service rep. I explained the situation and told him that I will not pay for: A one-year subscriptions that only last 11 months, A 15% increase for something I really haven't used that much in 1-1/2 years, Pay $80+ per year for Traffic and Travel Link which I found didn't work very well, A service that will cost me over double of what other people are paying. I was put on hold for the obligitory 5 minutes while Customer Service "talked to thier supervisor". He came back with the "promotional deal" of $160/yr. I told him that wasn't good enough and to cancel me right now. He put me on hold for another 5 minutes, and then came back to tell me I was sucessfully cancelled and that I owed them something like $7.25. I told him that they can bill me for it. Pro Tip: I originally subscribed using a credit card (actually a debt card) that expired prior to my 11 months. That saved me from automatically overpaying even more for something I realized I didn't really use that much. It actually saved me this time. I'm with Wilson; I will also be suprised if they last 3 another years. Average radio product Poor travel and traffic aids Shady business practices
  2. I received an e-mail from Lincoln, saying that my update will be mailed in the next few weeks.
  3. Reuters has an article stating that Ford is starting to ship the USB updates: "... On Monday, Ford began sending USB flash drives with the updated software to 300,000 U.S. owners of vehicles outfitted with the previous version of MyFord Touch and MyLincoln Touch, the navigation system built into its Lincoln brand vehicles..." http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/03/05/ford-myfordtouch-idUSL2E8E5BL520120305?type=companyNews&feedType=RSS&feedName=companyNews&rpc=43 I sure hope it's true. My MLT has been getting flakier and flakier the last couple of months.
  4. This is a little off-topic, but as bad as the cargo cover is, the rubberized cargo floor mat is actually really good. My initial impression was that it seemed kind of thin and flimsy. But after a year of use i can tell you that it's really grippy (the groceries don't slide all over the place), it stays in place and dosen't rid up on the sides at all, and is easy to clean. I put it right over the fancy carpeted mat, and pull it out and toss it in the garage when I want the cargo area to look it's best.
  5. The screenshots look nice, but i noticed some differences between the Autoblog screen shots and video. I guess they are still working on usability when this was released. I didn't see a button for the MKX's heated steering wheel, nor did I see room for one. i know they were showing off the Escape, but I'm nervous because I use that thing 4-5 months out of the year and it's currently on the main screen. Do you think us Americans will finally get software-enabled DRL's with this patch? (I can dream, can't I?)
  6. I've had a NuShield on my screen for a year now, and I think it's a very worthwhile investment. It's still scratch-free and hasn't peeled up or bubbled or lost adhesion. Quality product. I bought the slightly smaller one because I'm traditionally hard on screen protecters so I figured I'd want one that was easier to replace once I ruined it. No problems so far though!
  7. I also have a MKX. I saw how the cargo cover fit at the dealership and thought it was laughable. Since I have a black interior I went to Target and bought a cheap $20 black microfiber throw blanket. It works great, looks good even when the hatch is open, fits under the cargo lid next to the spare tire when I'm not using it, and I can throw it in the washing machine when it gets dirty.

  10. SyncMyRide is available right now. I just had 2.7 installed at the dealer last Monday 4/4, which is showing up as a confirmed installation. It says I have an update, but dosen't show what the update is.
  11. I didn't realize what "chrome-clad" meant until I got my 11 MKX home. I was disappointed to say the least when I found out it meant "hubcaps". I guess I should have asked first. I applied Powerlock sealant on them right away last November hoping to keep them nice over the Minnesota winter. Just last weekend while using Poorboys S&W all over to get the winter grime off I noticed that the "chrome" (krome?) looks stained with darker brown/gray radial streaks already. Grrr. I found real chrome wheels online that look similar to what is on the MKX for about $265 per wheel, and it made me wonder how much the replacement plastic krome-klad OEM hubcaps cost. has anyone priced them?
  12. I'll take the 3.5 EcoBoost from the Taurus SHO, please. 365hp & 350 ft/lbs torque. Mmmmm... speedy.
  13. I've had my 11 MKX for 4 months now, and I always thought that there was something kind of wierd about the driver's seat; My right leg felt like it's resting just fine on the seat while my foot is on the gas pedal, but my left leg always felt like it was resting on top of the seat's left bolster. I finally looked down while sitting in the seat, and it looks like the centerline of the driver's seat seems to be aimed/rotated about 10 degrees to the right of the center of the steering wheel. The back of the seat seems to be aligned with the center of steering wheel, but the front of the seat is about 1-2 inches to the right. Has anyone else has noticed the same thing? I have not had a chance to sit in any other Edges or MKXs to see if they are aligned differently.
  14. Thanks for the info! The snow can't go away fast enough this year.
  15. I bought OEM mats for mine and an quite disappointed. The lip is not deep enough back by the seats, resulting in all kinds of salty slush to leak onto the carpet. Ii definitely will be looking into the Huskys since WeatherTech still doesn't have them. Does anyone know the safest way to get salt out of the carpet?
  16. I bought 2010 OEM floor mats for my 2011 MKX. The only difference I could find was that the 2011 has an extra retainer hook on the driver's side (on the right by the seat) that the 2010 didn't have. Other than that they fit fine. they aren't as "deep" as I would have liked though. The rear cargo mat is interesting. It is grippy on the top so your stuff doesn't slide around at all, but the bottom isn't very grippy so the whole mat moves around a bit. This isn't that big of a deal, except it'll partially cover up the rear door close button if it slides to the left too much. I was holding out for Weathertech to offer 2011 mats, but the snow got here first. I'll probably trade up to them next year (or Huskys, as a friend recommended them too). We put Weathertechs in mt GF's Accord and we both have been impressed with them. And why would you ever want to cover up that gorgeous perforated leather in the MKX? Oh yeah, dog's toenails. We just keep keep a cheap fleece blanket in the back for the rare occasions our beagle/schnauzer rides in the car.
  17. I just received my 10B20 Sync Customer Satisfaction program notice today. Ford must have staggered out the letters for some reason. i guess I'll just get Sync updated along with the BCU recall all done at the same time.
  18. Wierd. When I bought it, it would pick up a curb from 15ft away when backing up. How I back into the same exact parking spot at work and it can't see the snowbank until it's registering in the red zone right before I hit it about a foot away. The backup radar still works fine when backing into the garage, so I figured it had something to do with the snow.
  19. I've noticed two things that seem to be happening now that it's winter. First, the backup proximity sensors don't seem to be able to detect snow mounds until the very last minute. Second, the remote start seems to have lost a lot of range. I used to be able to start it from about 100 ft, but now it seems to be down to about 50ft or less. I'm not sure if it's the reduced reflectivity of the snow, or that the electronics aren't as sensitive at colder temps. Any one else notice these?
  20. I've seen the one degree temp difference between the displays too. I only noticed it below zero too. But at that temp, one degree dosen't make much of a difference to me.
  21. Does anyone know what it fixes?
  22. I just received my recall notice from the dealer today in the mail for my 11 MKX. The notice dosen't say what it's for, but I assume it's for the body control module.
  23. I'm going by memory here, but i think this is a pretty comprehensive list. MKX features not available on the Edge Sport:: Adaptive cruise control Adaptive HID headlights (headlights turn with the steering wheel) Heated steering wheel Heated rear seats A/C front seats Wood trim Upgraded interior materials Class II Trailer hitch Edge Sport features not available on the MKX: 22" wheels Paddle shifters ...By the way, the adaptive cruise is really cool.
  24. I have an 11 MKX with the Adaptive Cruise too, and noticed the same thing. i just figured the MKX was trying to keep me from rear-ending someone. I think the truth lies in an Autoblog article titled "2011 Lincoln MKX gets 19/26 MPG ratings, Ford claims best-in-class" on 7/7/10. Amongst other things, it mentions the following: "Ford was able to crank up ponies while also ratcheting up efficiency by adding twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT) to its 3.7-liter V6 engine. TI-VCT enables a larger torque-curve while also improving power by 10 percent and efficiency by 4.5 percent versus an engine without the technology. The 3.7-liter engine, which is also available on the 2011 Mustang and the 2011 Edge Sport, also utilizes aggressive deceleration fuel shutoff to further increase efficiency. Basically, the engine shuts down whenever the driver doesn't need engine torque." So, it sounds like it's your MKX going into fuel saver-mode and shutting the engine down. I thought I had read something about how the alternator only engages during deceleration, but I can't find that article anymore. Maybe someone else can shed some light on that.
  25. I'm driving an 11 AWD MKX with 20" wheels, and traction-wise it's been great so far. MrHappy is right; These things are tanks.! A week or two ago I was at a stoplight next to a cop while it was snowing, and when it went green I just walked away from him. I wasn't speeding, just had much better traction. A couple of days later i was following a 10 Edge over the crest of a narrow right hand curve at about 45 MPH. We both lost it when we hit some black ice on the downhill side and started to spin out. We both were able to over-correct and then re-correct just fine. I'm sure it looked like an Edge/MKX ballet for someone watching. Needless to say, the traction control and anti-stupid systems all worked great. On the other hand, big rims kinda suck in deep snow. As some of you might have heard we got a little snow up here in Minnesota yesterday. When we finally got the MKX dug out of the driveway today we went xmas shopping. I noticed some harsh vibration in the tires once I got it up to about 50 MPH. I'm assuming that I have some snow buildup in the rims somewhere and it really threw the wheels off balance. This is after I cleaned the "spokes" with a snowbrush as best I could. Now I know why people buy 17's with winter tires.
