Lately my rear view camera stays on for 15-30 secs after I shift back into gear from reversing. I'm guessing that it's just part of the system being slow..or it cuts out when you hit a certain speed. M.

Sounds like the rails need to be greased? I haven't noticed mine slowing had it since Oct, and use it pretty much every chance I get. M.

Turn on the radio in the car AM/FM, hold the CD eject button and press the seek right button on the big knob, hold em down until you see bezel diagnostics on the screen. Now there should be a touch screen calibration on the touch screen which you can use to recalibrate the screen. Good Luck. M.

Just double checked, and yes the 2011 Canadian Edge DRL (for my 2011 Edge purchased in Canada) are the amber lights. So it's normal that they activated the amber ones vs regular headlights. M.

Hmm, I think having the Amber lights as DRL is normal in Canada for the 2011 Edge. I'll have to look at mine when I get a chance, 2011 purchased in Canada. M.

I agree, seeing the back bumper is a good thing, it also ensures that you know where the bumper is in relation to the wall or other cars behind you. If you couldn't see the bumper then how would you know when to stop backing up before you hit the car behind you or guessed you were close enough.. M.

They may have idled the car for a long time, I know when I took mine in for a sync update right after I filled the tank and reset the trip, when I got the car back it was down 7-8 liters of gas, and a on time of 2 hours 12 mins most of which i'm sure they left it running. It was showing something silly like 49 liters for every 100 kms. By the end of the week it was down to 12 liters for 100 kms, which was 1-2 liters more than normal. M.

I've got a FWD with the 67 liter tank, on a normal fillup it takes about 50 liters of Gas to fill the tank after the light comes on (showing 80 kms left) at that point I have usually traveled approx 500 kms, so a full tank for me seems to yeild about 580 kms (mixed driving 60% highway, 40% city), I would think pure highway may take you 600 kms but I wouldn't count on much more. Usually when I fill up it shows 580-620 kms to empty.. I guess it depends on the pump and how full the tank gets. I usually let the pump click once, then start again, and stop when it clicks for the 2nd time. M.

If you have navigation, as part of the my Ford Touch sync system, it comes with a SD card which goes in the center armrest console, which gives you navigation. What you seems to be describing is the Travellink directions thing, which isn't navigation and doesn't include a map. I could be wrong but I've got the My Ford Touch system(with Navigation) and the navigation does need a cell phone, and has a true GPS. M.

Did you check to see if display contact photos is on? It's under the phone settings, When I had the 2.8 applied, the automatic phonebook download was disabled by default, and I can't remember if display phone contact pictures was also disabled. I flipped both back on, on my car.. perhaps yours is off? M.

I wish I had known that, I had mine done last week. from 1.8 to 2.8 and although my issues have previously been minor, white screens when leaving and re-entering the car and general sluggishness, ever since the update my phone has been acting wonky... sometimes it connects other times it doesn't, it had worked previously 100% of the time, (blackberry curve 3g 9300) I actually did a master reset and a fuse pull a few days after the update because I thought it was acting wonky. I hate taking it to the dealership for any reason, Simple 1st service took 2.5-3 hours, and the sync update I dropped the car off at 8:30am and they had it all day, when I went to pick it up it still wasn't ready, had to wait 15-30 mins before it was ready. Both these were scheduled with 2 separate dealerships. M.

It's near the end of the list, something like information -> system check then it shows you oil life, and washer ok, breaks ok etc.. M.

The Dealer checked a 2012 Edge? I didn't think those were available as of yet and probably not until sept /oct timeframe? I've got a 2011 LTD and as far as I can tell Climate on and Auto cycles the AC when needed, most of the time I turn off climate, isn't warm enuff here to justify a/c but it does turn on if the car is sitting in the sun. outside temp about 12-18 degrees Celsius currently. Yep, I've had 1.8 installed on my edge since Oct 2010, I never received anything from ford or my purchasing dealership, I have been following the forum, and finally went in for an update today, 2.8 installed after what looks like two attempts from the look of the sync history, but it looks like it took. I haven't had a chance to play with it, but there are a few small differences which I can visually see so it looks like the update took. Still noticed some lag but not sure if it will settle down after a few days.. will have to keep a sys on it. Unlike most, the only major complains I had with the system was the white screen after opening/closing the doors and some slowness in the system, my radio stations are still saved, lost my phone pairing but I paired it again and it took right away so far so good. M.

I'm in the Toronto area, and have the ford all weather mats (they were thrown in with the deal, back in Oct 2010) and I have salt stains on the drivers side Nothing too severe, but it would have been nice if there was better coverage (both width and length) Will need to try and brush them out with a stiff brush when it stops raining around here. I have mine scheduled this weekend, have just over 10k on it, and the oil life still shows about 50% left. I know I received somthing in the mail saying the edge is equipped with the intellegent oil monitor and you should take it in when it says so, but I figured its the 1st oil change.. I figure we can get approx 16k before the oil monitor says it needs changing. M.

I made my deal Last Aug when we had employee pricing, Limited FWD with Drivers Entry($1000 for the keyless entry, IA Keys, push Ignition, and power liftgate) ($1850 for the canadian touring which included the power vista moonroof and voice activated NAV) total was slightly under 37000 plus tax. I thought the IA key has to be within like 3 feet of the car for the door to lock/unlock I'll have to check it out, I frequently park about 20 feet away from my office desk and wouldn't want the rain to be triggering the sensors on the door.. Easy enuff to test I guess.. stand at the window when it's raining and watch the lights.. M.

Congrats on your purchase, I've had my Earth edge since Oct, 2010, seems to be a refined colour, very classy (yes i'm Canadian and we spell it that way) I tinted by front windows to 35% the legal amount in Ontario, backs are 20% and I put on the plastic hood defector, which looks good since it matches the paint. I have a 16 GB thumb drive in mine, The filename itself isn't as important, as the Tag on on mp3 files themselves. I used mp3tag to edit the tag information and add cover art etc to all my MP3's. So when playing music, it shows me the album art, and name, artist etc.. M.

From what I heard its a mechanical flap moving outta the way allowing more light out of the projector housings. M.

I have a 16 GB kingston USB key with 10 GB of music plugged in all the time, and a BB Curve 9300 running OS 5(yes phone calls, and contact pictures, and the occasional BT audio streaming works Haven't tried text messaging, but it shows up, I never text message, but I guess I should try.. sync 1.8 with about 3 auto reboots and 2 fuse pulls in over 6 months... Sync is a bit laggy(white screen if you open and close the drivers door after shutting down etc), but eventually I should take it in and get an upgrade. I'm in canada so none of the travel link stuff is available or loaded it seems, so maybe my system has a bit more breathing room? uses less memory and seems to work longer without reboots? M.

Me too.. still on 1.8 and no updates show on the web site. It's a canadian car.. I may go to the dealer for my 1st service soon, so I will have to ask about a update. M.

I just use the calendar to figure out the day of the week.. as for notifications, if you turn bluetooth off, it will show up under notifications saying blutooth is off, and the time/date etc, but thats the only thing I've ever seen there. M.

I have a "Earth Metallic" Edge Limited since Oct of last year. I like it, however I've had it during the Winter so it's been covered in snow and dirt. I'm hoping it will stay cleaner since spring is coming, but they said "Brown" is the new "Silver" for 2011.. M.
