Yeah.. my kids are small so we use the child locks.. they never open the doors, we alway open them for them..maybe this will be a issue when they are older..

Actually I think it's a option, the default is the regular projectors in the 2011 models, but HID's are a option, and in canada I think they were $600 CAD

The Rubbery tray thing goes under where the gear shifter is. Basically a spot under the center stack to store stuff.. but I can't really see a use for it..

I actually had something similar happen to me, but instead of pulling the fuse, I just clicked the media re-index, and sync rebooted without having to pull the fuse. I guess it had just got to the point right before it crashed, and by trying to do a media re-index caused it to crash and reboot... after that it was fine. M.

Not sure if everyone with the original software had this issue, but I have a 2011 Edge LTD with the Myford Touch system. If your on the 4 quad display, and you touch right below the heated driver or passenger seat, it shows my A/C seats are on (the edge doesn't come with A/C seats) It's a software bug, but no one else seems to have reported it, just wondering if after the update the same thing happens. I can reproduce it on demand (sometimes takes a few tries) but kinda neat makes me think I got the MKX I have been lucky and only had a couple of reboots and the white screen issues, but in general everything has been working since the 2nd week of nov. M.

Are you syncing the time using the GPS? maybe daylight settings is enabled or disabled?

I have a 2011 LTD edge and the car does seem to warm up ok, I usually just leave it on auto and noticed that the vents rarely blow on my face i.e. the dash vents are not really on at any given time. The Door vents and I floor vents do have warm/hot air coming out of them, but If I set the vents to the face/floor position I do have warm/hot air in my face like I should. But If I reach behind the center console, the vents seem to be blowing cool air in the back? Anyone been able to figure out a way to get the back vents of the center console to blow hot air? Overall the car does feel warm, so I'm not complaining, but my older manual systems always blew the same temp air over all the vents..

I wish these options would come to Canada. We get none of the neat features..

That makes sense... kinda weird to see that if you reset while the car us running and stopped at the amount of fuel per 100 kms keep rising even though you aren't using much. it would be nice if when stopped it wouldn't update, maybe keep things more accurate as over time lots of stop and go would affect the numbers... but i'm not complaining.

Hi, I have a Canadian 2011 EDGE FWD, I noticed a strange issue and wanted to ask if anyone else has noticed it. I set my left side display to display the instant fuel display. I was at a stoplight and reset it. Normal fuel economy should bearound 11 liters per 100 kms. But while I was at the light the numbers just kept increasing. It displays I was using 59 liters per 100 kms. When the light finally changed to green and I started driving it then started lowering the numbers. It then hovered around 17 liters per 100 kms. That's some really bad mileage.. I noticed at everytime the car is stopped and in drive the instant mileage display shows it's using tons of fuel, but as soon as you start driving it's ok. I think its inaccurate but i'm not sure. (still on my 1st tank of gas) I wanted to know if anyone else has seen this display when stopped and if it displays that it's using a ton of fuel? Glad you like the edge i like mine too. homelink and memory seats are standard on the Limited 2011 Edge. I'm still learning the tech stuff.. so far so good. I don't think I have run into any issues which are more than a minor annoyance. M.

Very nice... I also have a Earth Metallic Edge FWD with the Canadian Touring and Drivers entry package. (Sad that it's been at the dealer for more than a week due to requiring some repairs, I only had it for a day) M.

If I recall it's something in the settings called RDS text or something similar. If you turn it on it will display some text info. Can't confirm cause my Edge is back at the dealer getting a repair done. Maybe under display settings? dunno I only had the car 1 day and don't expect it back until end of the week.

I wish.. what sucks is being so close does nothing for freight charges.. if you live close to the factory or across the country it's the same..

I'm waiting on my edge as well. Suppose to be built this week. I just replaced two tires on my 10 year old civic (selling to a family member) I'm around a hour away from the factory (by car) so I'm hoping and wishing that it shows up next week. M.

mine was ordered on Aug 25th scheduled to be built the week of 10/11/2010, I don't think I will see it until very close to the 8 weeks I was told 6-8 weeks when i placed my order.

Wow that's a fast turnaround. I ordered on 8/25 and just heard that my production date is 10/11. I did not opt for ESP I didn't think it was worth it, I'm going stir crazy waiting so it interesting to see how quickly you received a production date after placing a order. Guess my dealer set the priority very low.. M.

Well me and the Mrs wanted a change from the silver.. We actually went and looked at a MKX in Earth before we ordered the earth in the Edge (figured we wanted to see it in person vs looking at it online in pictures, and no earth edges close to where we were). It look's like a decent colour and since we're ordered it, we're thinking it's a new colour for Ford but other brands seem to have similar colours already available. I think the Chevloret has something called mocha which is close to what we saw on the MKX. My test drive was in a Bordeaux Red which is also a very nice colour. The colours we wanted to stay away from were the Silver, Black, and the white which kinda limited our choices.. but I think we will he happy with the earth. M.

I'm in Brampton(just outside of Toronto), Ontario less than a hour to the factory where the car will be built. mine will be a limited so i'm getting the 18 inch wheels. and until QC winter tires are not required by law. I will stick with the all seasons. (we don't get crazy snowfall, and even if we do the streets are plowed in 24-48 hours) I would look for a set of 18 inch steel rims with regular tires vs the low profile ones you will get on the sport. I ordered the new Earth Metallic, hope I will like it my last 2 cars were silver and we wanted a change. M.

I think the 6 to 8 weeks seems to be the standard dealer reply. I ordered a 2011 edge limited fwd on Aug 25th and was told the orders are placed to the factory on Thurday (brampton, on dealer) So my order was placed on Aug 26th apparently but no word on any progress/VIN etc yet. I don't expect to hear from them for 3 weeks at the very least. Congrats on u r new purchase, maybe we will get them around the same time. M.
