Thanks for this info. I checked and it shows available for mine. Now if the dealers know about this we can get an upgrade. I just called the dealer and they are checking to see if they have the update and cable to do this.

Good info and discussion here, my .02$ worth: The Auto Climate Control in my 2011 Edge Limited works very similar to the ones in my F-150 and Excursion. I have found that the Temperature setting for the systems is not as accurate as a home thermostat as should be used only as a guide and I have to adjust the temperature a few degrees up or down (depending on the the outside temp and clouds or lack of) to be comfortable. I usually have the temp set to around 70 in the summer and 72 to 74 in the winter. The Edge does seem to be a little better then the other 2 as to maintaining a constant temperature. I leave all 3 systems on full auto and only change the Temp as needed. If I have ice on the windshield I will turn on the defrost until it is gone or switch to the defrost/floor and then switch back to full auto as soon as possible. The systems all retain the setting on shutdown.

Do you have a link or # for this TSB? I am going to have my Edge in for service and would like to get this done at the same time!

I don't think you can use the metal key to start the car. The slot is below the 12 volt power point in the console and is for the entire remote. The keys are for the doors as far as I can tell.

The question now is when are they going to release the updates to the rest of us? I am taking my 2011 Edge in next week for an alignment (car pulling to the right) and would like to get the update if it is available. I talked to the service guy today and he said he would have his Sync guy check on it.

I agree also, I have had my edge for about 6 weeks and the only problem I have is with the middle screen staying on when you open and shut the door while it is unlocked, if you lock and then unlock the doors with the door closed, the screen will go off. The pluses certainly outweigh the negatives. Given time Ford will mix all the problems with the MFT. The Touch on my Edge works as I would expect. There are some that have major problems with the MFT but there are also a whole lot that don't. If you like the vehicle otherwise buy it, I still do not regret buying the 2011 Edge.

Make sure the Nav System is working before you leave the dealership as the SD card is not installed at the factory and has to be installed by the dealer. The Nav System will not work without the SD card installed.

Please give more details. I looked after your previous post and I can't find where you can turn this off.

If your car doors are unlocked and you open the front doors and then close, are you saying that your middle display does not stay on? If so you are one of the few that does not have this problem. What trim level is your Edge or MKX?

After seeing this I am glad I got my Edge with the Towing Package. Doesn't look all that bad except for the fact that you have to do a lot of disassembly. I have installed these type accessories from Ford before and they are usually very good quality and work correctly when they are installed. At least you will get real familiar with your Edge :wacko: :yup: .

I called it a night light, because that is what it reminds me of. Open and shut the doors without using the remote lock and the middle screen stays on for an undetermined period. If you lock and unlock the doors with the remote while the screen is on and it goes off.

Not all of the Edges have problems. The only problem I have which appears to be universal is the night light (screen staying on for an undetermined time) from the 8" screen when you open and close the doors without locking. I expect Ford to fix most if not all of the problems or they will have a public relations nightmare on their hands! I am overall well pleased with the new Edge.

My 2011 Edge does the same thing. Looks like most if not all have this problem or "feature".

I ordered the part number shown for the 2011 Edge BA1Z-6111600-YD and this mat is for the MKZ not the Edge. Appears the correct part number for Ford is BT4Z-6111600-AA. I will probably keep the MKZ mat rather then go through the hassle of trying to return it. And yes the mat is a little on the lite side but is serviceable and will have to do for now.

Yes I have noticed, however I have seen 2 in person and really liked them, but the exterior color was not my choice. If I had ordered I would have gotten the Seinna but I settled for the black.

They must have updated the site since i posted. I am fairly sure that The Floor Mat Tab was not there. I had looked under interior before I posted. Anyway I am glad to see that they are now available.

Going through the same thing on a Cargo liner for the 2011. Ford shows a different part number for 2011 (BA1Z-6111600-YD) and Weathertech does not list the 2011 Edge yet. If this the same E-bay listing I looked at, the part number they show does not match the number i listed. I finally got tired of waiting and ordered the mat from http://www.carpartsestore.com/search.php for $76.95 with shipping. If you are in Canada they only ship to US domestic. I will try the mat and if is doesn't last I will replace it with a Weathertech when they are available. I need something now!

I think you need to find another dealer or at least find a parts guy that knows what is going on, these parts are available as mentioned in the previous post part no. BT4Z-7813300-AC . I just ordered a set from www.CarPartsEstore.com.

I notice in your interests you list Beta tester, that's what we are :yup: This is the way it goes, issue, pull it and then re-issue until most of the bugs are eliminated. But, it is still listed for me, I even signed off and back on and it is still there.

This wouldn't be the first time that the dealers and Ford didn't have their act together on something like this. I ran into similar problems with updates on my 2005 Ford diesel. I would read about updates on a forum and go to the dealer and they don't know anything about it. Go back in a couples of weeks and the dealer has gotten a notice about the update. I suspect that we will see a similar occurrence here or Sync will withdraw the update notice.
