  1. Until recently my Edge could set for days without any lost of vacuum that I could notice. My other Fords, 2004 F-150, and 2005 Excursion are the same way. The Excursion will sometime set for several weeks and still have vacuum. If yours doesn't last an hour you have a problem of some kind.
  2. The first thing that I and my wife noticed was when starting the car after it had set for a period of time (over night) was that the brake pedal was hard. Push the brake pedal on your car without it running until all the vacuum is gone and then start it, that was the first symptom something was wrong. The brakes seemed ok but in hind sight it is now obvious that the pedal was spongy and we had just got used to it. This was before we got the letter from Ford detailing the program. After we got the letter we paid more attention to the brakes and the pedal felt soft and spongy as it would when you are losing vacuum in the booster. There was nothing wrong with the master cylinder. The pedal would not go to the floor, it was spongy when stopping and after it had been setting a while there was no vacuum left in the booster.
  3. Just picked up the Edge, new booster installed, PROBLEM SOLVED.
  4. Probably explained it wrong. Pedal is hard after is has set for awhile like someone got in it and pushed the brake until all the vacuum is gone, which it is. As soon it starts it gets a pedal but is spongy and when you push it goes farther then normal not all the way to the floor.. I have a ford ESP so whatever is wrong will only cost me the deductible at worst. The dealer ordered the booster and will install it on Monday. I called today and asked him to make sure and check the master cylinder.
  5. Got the letter this week. Already suspected something was wrong. Had noticed last week when I went to start my 2011 Edge that the pedal was hard and went all the way to floor and did not feel right. Thought the wife might have held her foot on the brake after she parked it last time. Got the letter and started checking and I am fairly sure mine is failing. Brake pedal is spongy and goes farther down then it normally does if you push on the pledal. And lf it sits for very long the pedal is hard when you push on the brake to start it. Still have brakes but they don't feel right. Taking it to the dealer in the morning. Will report back when I get it back.
  6. Got my update today in the mail and installed it. Took about 45 to 50 minutes. So far the only thing I don't like is the removal of the outside temperature from the display, hoping Ford will return this in the future..
  7. How much would you waste if you took it to the dealer? For me I use less gas idling for an hour then if I drove it to the dealer, and the dealer would have it for a 4 hours minimum.
  8. Try disconnecting your battery for 10 minutes. Had the same calendar and clock problems and this cured the problem for me. This was on the owner to owner site awhile back and I tried it and it worked. you will need to be in a location with a clear view of the sky. May have to re-sync phone.
  9. Try this link: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/5928-factory-hitch-wiring/page__p__48206__fromsearch__1#entry48206 There is a link to the instruction in the thread, maybe the same as what you have as it says for 2007 and newer.
  10. You could also disconnect the negative battery cable for 10 minutes. This will reset the system and is just about as easy as pulling the fuse. And you don't have to stand on your head to disconnect the battery cable :D
  11. Took my Edge in today for the update. Dealer had called last week and said he was ordering a new APIM and would call me when it came in. Dealer called yesterday and I took it in and they installed the new module and programmed it. Currently installed: Sync VersionGen2 - V2.8 Confirmed installations BT4T-14D546-AM SYNC compatible software SYNC compatible software SYNC compatible software BT4T-14F603-AM Waiting to download 0 items. Don't really know the reason for the new module as I was not really having any major problems but I wasn't going to question his offer. I had been talking to them about getting the Customer Satisfaction update done and had reported the calendar and clock problem (which I solved my disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes). Everything went smooth and only took 2 hours once they started the process. Of course it was at the dealer for 4 hours before they started. Glad I got the first day rental on my extended warranty. All systems including the Nav System appear to be working, and screen response is faster. Tried the voice commands and they do appear to work better. The Sirius channels also appear to be working correctly. Had to reconnect phones and they connected right up. Don't know what became of 2.10 but the version they installed today is supposed to be the latest as of today. Right now I am a HAPPY CAMPER and all systems are GO :happy feet:
  12. here is a link to the Topic http://boards.synccommunity.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?tsn=1&nav=messages&webtag=fordsyncmb&tid=3904 The link to the file is on this page. The discussion is under Sync Announcements on the Owner to Owner Page
  13. Like wilsons66604 said. People are complaining because the latest updates have to be installed by the dealer. There have been a few updates that the user could install, but there have not been any recently. Currently the only download is the status checker that only reports the current installation.
  14. There have been some Owner install updates, these are usually minor updates, I have downloaded and installed several. Lately, there have only been dealer installed major updates. If you have not done so go to syncmyride http://www.syncmyride.com/Own/Modules/SupportContent/SupportHomeWithIOP.aspx and register and check back occasionally for updates.
  15. Did you ever get yours fixed? I had to take my F 150 in for a recall and I talked to the dealer near where I live and they knew about the new TSB for the Edge pulling. I may take it to them instead of where I purchased it. They did not have the Edge like I wanted when I bought and I got impatient and bought one from a dealer who had it in stock. Only problem it is 100 miles from my house. I wouldn't mine the drive if the dealer service department had a little better attitude, Almost like they are doing me a favor by working on my vehicle.
  16. What trim level do you have, SEL, Limited?
  17. Discussed here: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/5507-emergency-flasher-poorly-placed/page__p__43442__hl__hazard__fromsearch__1#entry43442
  18. Thanks I will take that to the dealer with me next time. We did not have a pleasant conversation about this matter the last time it was in and when I got home they had actually put more air in the right tire to try and offset the pull. I said mine was fixed but I really should have said it was better. It still has a slight pull but I think most of it is that I have got used to it pulling. This TSB is very much is line with the previous TSB that I remember. The dealer I bought from is in Carollton and I have very mixed feeling about the service department, their radio guy seems to be very good. And I also have the 20" wheels with Pirelli's
  19. Here is a link to a fix On the Sync Owner to Owner site for one the calendar issues where the system date is wrong. Mine was showing January 2030 and this fixed mine. Clock will now show correct time when set to GPS. May or may not work for you but it is so simple to do that it is worth a try. http://boards.synccommunity.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?tsn=22&nav=messages&webtag=fordsyncmb&tid=3316 It is post 23. "Step :1 : Place your vehicle with an unobstructed view of the sky facing South... Step: 2: Remove the (-) negative cable from your battery and let sit for at least 5 minutes. Step: 3: Reconnect the battery cable and turn on your vehicle and press the Information button located on the bottom center of your screen for Nav equipped vehicles or for non-nav select the calendar and confirm the date information is correct...." The solution is so simple (Disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes to reset the GPS) that it really irks me that none of the dealers seem to know about this solution. I didn't lose any of my presets or have to re-sync my phones. The Sirius Travel Link stuff did have to reload.
  20. Yes, I had the pull to the right problem. There is a thread here somewhere about it. They finally fixed mine but I never got a straight answer about what they did, took 2 trips to the dealership and they tried swapping tires but that didn't fix mine either. There was a TSB for the earlier Edges for this problem, but I couldn't find one for the 2011 models. It was after a Ford Engineer looked at and rode in mine that they finally fixed it. Kinda may me mad when they would not really tell what they did other then aligned the front end. But they did fix it so keep after them. Let us know if they fix the problem and what they did.
  21. The Service Advisor at my dealer keeps telling me that there is a new update coming out any time. Talked to him today and says it hasn't been released yet but should be soon. I am putting off my update until it is out.
  22. Same issue here. Clock does the same and my calendar also thinks it is December 2030. No way to change the date as far as I can tell. I hope that the new update fixes the problem. I am going in next week to find out.
