  1. Just purchased mine today from Ziegler. See discussion about warranties and prices on ESP here http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/5646-warranties-wearcare-pricing/ It doesn't make any difference where you buy the ESP as long as it is a Ford Dealer. As you will see from the referenced discussion Zielger and Flood Ford seem to be the best on price.
  2. Purchased in October,2010. No mechanical problems. Did have to have radio antenna module replaced. MFT has worked fine except for the dealer screwing up the upgrade and taking 2 weeks to get it fixed and the date not being correct. The Ford Touch (MFT) does appear to be weak link in the reliability of the Edge. Would I buy it again? Yes, but might go with the Lincoln MKX for some of the extra features it has over the Edge.
  3. Just went through this process and came up with the same 2 dealers you did. Ending up buying from the same source you did (Ziegler Ford). Difference was minimal ($10) between the 2. A lot of money to be saved on line, price from Ford was $2,080, was able to buy same thing on line for $800 less. I went with 7 years, $50 deductible, 1st day rental. I wanted the piece of mind with all the electronic stuff the Edge has. I didn't do my homework when I was buying the Edge and got suckered in by the dealer , after I got home and my brain engaged I canceled the one the dealer had sold me at list price and just got my money back recently.
  4. Mine is the same way, appears to be pretty common from comments here!
  5. For those of you that the clock did not update, check the date on your system. My system shows a date of October 29, 2030. And as far as as I can tell there is no way to change the date on this system. The Ford Edge site states that the engineers are working on a solution.
  6. I read that solution but that would require me to buy a new edge or new mirrors , whereas the TSB appears to fix existing mirrors with weatherstripping or foam.
  7. Does anybody have a copy of this TSB or know where it can be viewed?
  8. I need this fix, my calendar thinks it is October 2030!!!
  9. I may be a very unhappy camper but I won't know untill tomorrow when I have get back from a short trip. I was checking the air in my tires today and my right front tire was inflated to 40 psi and my left front tire was 34 psi. If that is the way they "FIXED" mine I will be having a few more conversations with the service manager and Ford.
  10. Your results about the the tow package are exactly what I found. I think the reason is the 22" wheels and tires, I don't think they have the load rating required for towing.
  11. The problem is the date. The system shows October 2 as the current date instead of February 16. And I just checked the calendar on sync applications and the current date is shown as October 2, 2030. Not only is the date off but the year is off by 19 years. Does anyone know how to change the Date? I cannot find anywhere to change the date. Just checked on the Owner to Owner forum on the Sync site and my problem is not an isolated problem. There are others with the same problem. Check the date (day and year) on your system and see if it is correct!
  12. Where do you find the tow package is available for the Sport? I cannot find it online or in the brochure. That is one of the main reasons I went with the Limited. There are also other items like HID lights that are not available. Fuel mileage is also not as good. The 3.5 has plenty of power.
  13. Have had the latest updates and system has been relative trouble free. But out of the blue my clock was off by an hour 2 days ago. I have the clock set to use GPS and had not changed a thing. I can get it to display the correct time by turning off daylight savings time, but like I said I did not change anything before the clock decided to be an hour off. Gremlins I guess!
  14. Exact same problem on a 2011 Edge see this http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/5290-pulls-to-the-right-after-alignment/ Please find out the TSB # if you can. There was a TSB for the earlier models that is listed in the other posting. They fixed mine but I don't know what they did. Had to take it back a couple of times and keep after the dealer as they didn't want to believe me about the pull. The first alignment they did, did not fix the problem. The dealer claimed the 2nd time that they still didn't find anything wrong, which I know if not right because it doesn't pull anymore. I hope your dealer has a better attitude about the problem then mine did. The service advisor kept telling me that it was in alignment and they couldn't do anything else. I was about to escalate the problem to Ford when I had it in for something else and the Ford rep was there. They worked on it for about 4 hours and something was fixed because it doesn't pull any more. If there is a TSB I am going to print it and take to the dealer and show it to both the Service Advisor and the Service Manager.
  15. Discussion is on 2011, but should be the same: http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/6460-driver-door-wind-noise/page__hl__%2Bwind+%2Bnoise
  16. It was phased in over a period of time. I left the panhandle about 5 years ago. Before I left 93 octane premium was hard to fine, only a few stations carried it. And the 87 was being replaced with the 85 - 86 octane stuff. Lubbock is about the same elevation as Amarillo, and as the article your referenced, 86 is the standard there. Went to school at Tech and back then we could get the good stuff, 100 octane, at the pumps :yup: . My home town is about 120 miles east of Lubbock, and last month when I filled up the regular was 86 octane.
  17. Depends on the elevation, in the panhandle (Amarillo and surrounding area) where the elevation is 3000 feet and above you will find 85 and 86 and most premium is 91 instead of 93. Lived in that area for 30 + years and 93 was semi-hard to find in the last few years before I moved. And it appears to be spreading, about a month ago I made a trip in that direction I ran into the lower octane (86) gas in my home town which is around 1850 feet.
  18. I had to pull the battery on my phone before I could get it to sync after the update.
  19. I expect the 2012 model to have full electrical assisted steering. Ford is headed that way on most if not all of their vehicles in the next few years.
  20. Yes, it can be done but I don't know if is available to the user. When I had my update done, I was getting ready to leave when the Tech came out and said he had forgot to calibrate the screen. I don't know what he did but it only took about 5 minutes. It kinda of reminded me of when I calibrated the screen on my old PDA. I saw him touching the screen is several spots and exit the screen.
  21. Same results I had, everything is working like it should as far as I can tell. It really is aggravating that they don't check everything out the first time. In my case I caught it in time and I didn't have to make a 2nd trip to the dealer. And yes there is hope, the system can be fixed, Now if the 4" screens just don't go out :shades:
  22. The battery should have been covered under the 36month/36,000 mile warranty. You might try and see if you can get reimbursed for the replacement battery. However, since you have already replaced the battery they may not cooperate.
  23. Been there, done that Pulling the fuse will not fix the problem. When the dealer did my upgrade (2nd time) the Nav and i stuff didn't work either when the tech first finished. Luckily I caught it before I left. The dealer will have to install the 2 missing items. The tech doing mine had to contact Ford and they walked him through the procedure. The Tech told me that the Ford tech he talked to had been doing this a lot lately and was real familiar with the problem. So call the dealer and have them contact Ford so they will know what to do. The tech installed the items from a USB flash drive and it did not take too long to do it after he found out what to do. It really is disappointing that Ford and the dealers still haven't got this procedure worked out. I had mine upgraded in December 2010 and 2 months later they are still having the same problem.
  24. What he said!!! Perfectly normal, when the temperature and humidity are just right you will get visible vapor and condensate with dripping. Every car I have owned has done this! When the exhaust warms up the vapor may or may not be visible but the dripping will stop.
  25. Mine is based on mileage I have entered and miles per day or year on the update screen. If they are tracking my Edge they are behind at the moment. There is even a service record from my last oil change that has a higher mileage then what the site shows.
