  1. Not on mine! Have you had the latest update!
  2. There was a update after the December update. It was 2.4 BE and was posted for a short time on the SYNC site before it was pulled. It was called a service pack when I installed it and according to the Sync forum it was not intended to be a user installed update. The December update was 2.3 BD. Also, if you look at some of the suffixes on users upgrades posted on this forum you will see differences. My dealer also told me that they were getting minor updates frequently the last time I was in for service. I do question a new update while they are downloading. Sounds like the dealer does not have a good connection or Ford is again having server problems. Check your Sync history and see if you have 2.3 or 2.4. I think 2.4 BE is the latest and is what is currently being installed at the dealers. My December update was to 2.3 BD and the downloaded update changed it to 2.4 BE. I wish Ford would give the end user some clarity on the alphabet soup they are dishing out and would post something on the SYNC site or to the dealer to let people know what is the latest.
  3. Normally they are 1/4" X 3/4". Any auto store will have a good selection if you can't find any at the hardware store.
  4. Actually, that was probably the best thing they could have done. My dealer didn't start practicing on cars in stock until after they screwed mine up. Took them almost 2 weeks to get comfortable with the upgrade. Let them learn on their own cars and then do yours right. After their practice sessions my upgrade was okay and is working correctly. I did get a fill up out of the dealer!
  5. Feel your pain, I was one of the first to get the update at my dealer. Needless to say they screwed it up the first time. Finally did get it right. If the dealer does his homework and is prepared, the update goes fairly well. Just make sure your check everything before you leave the dealership. Make sure the Navigation system (if equipped), and other options are functional.
  6. How about a new Toyota if Ford is so BAD: http://www.thecarconnection.com/marty-blog/1054295_huge-new-toyota-recall-includes-245000-lexus-gs-is-sedans and http://www.thecarconnection.com/marty-blog/1042089_toyota-and-lexus-recall-everything-you-need-to-know
  7. Success rate has been much better lately. Hopefully they will get it right the first time :shades:
  8. He wasn't talking about preference, he said it was incorrect, there is a difference. It may not work the way we prefer it to, but it is working correctly for what it is, an image of a floating ball compass. I do agree that first impression is that it is not right, but after studying the view it is correct for what it was intended to be. I don't know that if I had an option it would be my first choice but it is what we have for now. :beatdeadhorse:
  9. The compass display is made to represent the way a old style ball compass works. For that purpose the display is correct and works the way it should. That is the way Ford designed it. The pointer show the correct direction that the front of the car is pointed, it is NOT intended to do anything else.
  10. I know it works on mine as I have done it several times. Just touch the blinking circle or a location on the screen and a pop up shows up asking you several things to do, one is save to favorites. Let us know if it works for you.
  11. My dad used to install one of them on every car he had. I thought they were standard equipment when I was younger.
  12. This is the way I see it also, to see for yourself get a piece of paper and put S at the bottom, N at the top, W to the right, and E to the left. This is the opposite of the way a map is normally laid out. Put this paper on a flat surface and then get a toy car :yup: or some object and move the object around the paper and you will see why the display is as it is. I had to think about it while I was driving and got home and tried the above to see why it is the way it is.
  13. What happens, if when you are at the mall you touch the blinking circle and select save to favorites. Or touch Dest and select map, find mall on map and touch the map and select save to favorites. I just tried the 2 methods and I was able to save my current location and a destination out in the middle of a pasture to favorites.
  14. Changed the description, number still the same, previously it was: BT4T-14D546-EB Version 1.1 GEN II INTERROGATOR Status Checker now instead of Interrogator.
  15. Like others have stated it probably is rail dust. Rail dust has been a problem for years, I had something similar on a 2003 White Jeep Grand Cherokee, If you notice cars on rail cars now, most have a white plastic looking cover to protect them. Looks worst then it actually is, a "good" detailing or body shop should be able to clean it up without any problem. Let your dealer take care of it, as it should not be there.
  16. I am now completely satisfied with my Edge. Had a problem with pulling to the right that took a couple of trips to the dealer to fix (dissatisfied with the dealers response, but did get it fixed), MFT touch worked until I took it in for the update, this also took 2 trips over 2 weeks to fix, and had to have the antenna module replaced a couple weeks ago. All of the above had me frustrated, most of the frustration however in retrospect was actually caused by the dealers service departments attitude toward the Edge pulling to the right problem. Now that all of the above are fixed and I have had time to actually enjoy the Edge I am very glad I purchased it. Like others have said the SYNC and MFT can be frustrating but when they are working right they are great. I will add however that if you do not like computers or technology you may get very frustrated with this vehicle.
  17. Mine is more like a touch type switch, not mechanical. Takes a second or so for it to work. I still activate it occasionally.
  18. Inside the console, toward the back, passenger side, vertical slots on coin holder side and back slide down over protruding vertical ribs on side and back of console interior.
  19. The front driver side floor mats are different. 2010 has 1 hold down hole and tab, 2011 have 2 hold down holes and tabs.
  20. The Nav system is tied to your vehicle by the VIN number. To make the Nav system work in a non NAV equipped vehicle (assuming it can be done) it would require a "hacked" version of the software to bypass this. And if you ever had to take your vehicle into a dealer for an update, like the last one, if would be made non operational again. Might also void your warranty if Ford caught it. As the guy is either a Ford or Microsoft employee I don't think he is going to risk his job for something like this.
  21. Here is what I now have in confirmed installations with everything updated and working including Ambient Lights: Sync Version Gen2 - V2.4 Confirmed installations BT4T-14D546-AD BT4T-14D546-AG BT4T-14D546-DA BT4T-14F496-AD BT4T-14F496-AG BT4T-14F496-AL BT4T-14F496-BG BT4T-14F497-AD BT4T-14F497-AG SYNC compatible software BT4T-14F500-AD BT4T-14F603-AD BT4T-14F603-AG The BT4T-14F496-AL is what fixed the Ambient Lights and corrected the colors on the 4 corners. :happy feet:
  22. Here is the straight poop Quoted from the Sync Site: http://boards.synccommunity.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?tsn=1&nav=messages&webtag=fordsyncmb&tid=3281 "BT4T-14D546-EB Version 1.1 GEN II INTERROGATOR should really be called SYNC GEN 2 STATUS CHECKER. This app just performs the same function that the old SYNC STATUS CHECKER did on previous versions. Unfortunately it was named incorrectly so that will be fixed - probably in an update to the site that is rolling out this weekend. For those who are not familiar with SYNC STATUS CHECKER, it's only purpose is to allow you to update your software version status on the site." Glad to seem them finally confirm what we had about figured out.
  23. You are not alone, see this thread http://www.fordedgeforum.com/index.php?/topic/4250-dead-battery/
  24. I do not have the Lincoln Logo, never did, at least the tech that did my update got that right. See previous post for getting the fix. Fixes are vehicle specific so you will have to go the link and tell them you want the fix. Several others have replied, and I assume they also got the fix.
  25. Go to the link and reply that you have the problem and that you would like the fix (I am assuming that you have registered at the site, if not you will probably have to) and you will get an e-mail in a day or so. Heck of a way to operate but that is the way it is. Fix is supposedly vehicle specific so e-mail won't work.
