Cracked Driver's side window
akirby replied to NatG's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors, Sunroof (BAMR), Wipers
I don't think I've ever seen a tempered glass window crack like that. It certainly didn't happen from an impact that would have shattered it. It looks like it cracked from the bottom probably where it attaches to the door track. Yes, it can shatter. I would at least put some tape on it to try and hold it together. Replacement should be easy. My guess is $300 but that depends on the cost of the glass - could be more. Car insurance sometimes pays for glass breakage with a nominal deductible (or no deductible). It wouldn't hurt to ask them. -
Using usb drive or sd card for music?

I believe so. They're just mp3 files stored externally either way. -
2015 Ford Edge Introduced - Edge Going Global
akirby replied to LI Edge's topic in Articles, News & Reviews
Well it's not only larger displacement but it's a V6 vs I4 so I expect it to be at least 350 hp. -
It will change to a tach display if you use the paddle shifters. At least that's how my Fusion works. I know what you said but my point was essentially selecting a display option once and leaving it is not at all complicated. And neither is having to set it back once in a while. It's certainly annoying but it's not difficult to figure out which is my definition of complicated. And again - that's not My Ford Touch anyway.
-
That's not MyFordTouch - that's just the MyFord dual 4" screens. And how complicated is it to pick the display you want once and leave it that way? Why is that complicated?

I think you can use folders but not sure about the details.

Drivers armrest with controls keeps sliding/loos
akirby replied to TiffanyT's topic in Interior, A.C., Heat, Interior Trim
If it's just the piece with the controls then it just clips in so it's either become unclipped or the clips broke. -
Sure. You just have to make sure it's FAT32, can run on usb power only and isn't too large (I think I've heard of folks using 32 gb drives, maybe 64.)

There should be a screw in the bottom of the well where you put your hand to close it. Might be under a rubber piece. -
2013 Ford Edge Limited. . .dead in the driveway
akirby replied to jetcycles's topic in 2013 Edge & MKX
It's possible MFT stayed on after the vehicle was turned off. Make sure MFT is up to date. You should still be able to jump it and drive it to the dealership if it's still under the B2B warranty. Otherwise just drive it to Advanced or Autozone and get a new battery. Mine never last more than 3 years anyway. Then check to see if anything is staying on. -
Really Loud Brake Sqeeking In Reverse Only--2010 Edge
akirby replied to JamesAA's topic in Brakes, Chassis & Suspension
It would tell you whether it was just one wheel or more than one and from there you might be able to diagnose the cause by removing that wheel and looking at the brakes (if it's just one wheel). -

Try jacking up each wheel and turning it by hand to see if you can replicate the squeaking. * with the engine off, wheels blocked and the transmission in neutral. -
Actually we're talking about taking donations to send to his brother. He and his brother had just started to work on their dad's 69 Corvette to restore it to driving condition so we thought it would be better to take donations for his brother to try and finish that work. Here is the thread: http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/56632-getting-dads-corvette-back-on-the-road/ I'll send details when we get them.

Seems that he collapsed last night and died in the ER. No word on exact cause yet. I was conversing with him over on blue oval forums earlier that day. Just doesn't seem possible.

Nick Fersch (nickf1011), a longtime poster and moderator at Blue Oval Forums and a recent member here passed away yesterday. No details yet. So sad. I'll post info when I get it. RIP.

You're better off in the long run. Look at it this way - they just saved you $1000!

Sounds like the SJB is hosed. Dealer might be able to reset it. -
It is clearly a defect but defects are only covered for the warranty period regardless. I would argue it's more of a safety issue and should be recalled and fixed at no charge to customers. Make sure you report it to the NHTSA.

S also gives you different shift patterns when in auto mode. So you can temporarily shift in D, move it to S and shift manually or move it to S and leave it in auto mode with more engine braking and higher rpm. -

On the Escape you do just that - you let it open all the way then pull it down to where you want it to stop and then press and hold the close button until it beeps. Our 08 Edge didn't have that feature so I had to raise the garage door open limit to clear it. -

Yes but I'm not aware of any problems being caused by it. -

On our new Escape you can set the limit on how high the liftgate opens. Very handy. -
Well you learn something new every day. If the code pointed to the TSS then it sounds like they were doing the right troubleshooting. But it sure sounded like the throttle body issue.......
