  1. It's not that - but certain areas that simply have not been revamped lately especially if they've been recently modified.
  2. That's anecdotal evidence. There are too many other variables. If that could be repeated reliably in a controlled test environment then K&N would have that plastered all over their website. If you understand how engines work and air/fuel ratios work on a fuel injected engine with MAF then you'd understand why it doesn't work that way.
  3. Got this in the mail from my local dealer. Huge pink 6 x 10 inch postcard. Doh!
  4. It depends on your MFT version. You may need the A4 version. The answer to how to do something is almost always available in the owners manual. Common courtesy suggests you should at least attempt to find the answer before asking someone else to look it up for you. You can usually find the answer faster yourself than waiting for someone to reply. You can get the manuals online at motorcraftservice.com - easy to do a search and find something in just a couple of minutes.
  5. Urban myth. More air does not equal more mpg, nor does K&N claim any increase in mpg.
  6. Probably the caliper and it should be covered by the warranty regardless of the cause. No reason to go with anything but OEM calipers and parts. I don't think a pinhole leak would cause a seizure - in fact it would be the opposite.
  7. There are many other threads on this issue. If the second fan is not coming on with the A/C on then the fan is shot. You can get a Dorman replacement from Amazon for $150 and replace it yourself. http://www.fordedgeforum.com/topic/12731-radiator-fan-assembly-replacement-procedure/
  8. Right - like watching a video while the car is in motion. That's illegal.
  9. Yes, many others have noticed a significant increase after 5K but most of those are the older NA engines. The newer ecoboost engines might be different.
  10. Do you drive a lot of short trips (

    Fuel Economy Help!

There may be something wrong but I don't think you understand how mpg works. You can take the exact same vehicle and let 2 people drive it on 2 different routes at different times and get a huge difference in mpg. I don't do metric but you could see a range from 15 mpg to 30 mpg just depending on the route and driver and speed. There is no such thing as a single expected mpg.
  12. That's certainly part of it, but there is a big technical issue with making that work seamlessly. Different screen sizes, touch commands, standard apis. Not as easy as "just plug it in".
  13. MFT only takes what the phone decides to send. It's your notification settings on the iPhone. Mine has changed with the last few iOS updates.
  14. That doesn't necessarily mean the lastest map data has those. Sometimes even the most current maps are still somewhat outdated in certain areas. But you can get an updated A5 card for around $125 from dealers.
  15. Actually initial fuel economy is lower due to simple engine and drivetrain friction, not because owners are idling in the driveway. Ford drivetrains typically take 5K or so to break in and yield max mpg.
  16. At least what's on the door jamb - maybe a few pounds more. Newer vehicles are more sensitive to driving style. Short trips are a killer also. I can get 26 on my commute to work in my 2.0L EB Fusion with no traffic but if I drive to a local fast food place for lunch it plummets to 20-22.
  17. First - you can't go by tanks. You need to calculate the actual fuel economy for comparisons. Have you checked the tire pressures? Is your 77 mile commute highway, city or mixed? Max highway speed?
  18. Ford has been giving away cards for free with MFT upgrades. Call the Ford number on the MFT website and I'm sure Ford will send you a current card for free. Or try another dealer - they should have extra cards for free.
  19. The bigger question is even if you get one will it work? If the vehicle did not come with Nav then you can't add it even if you get a SD card.

    Help!!!!

    Classic blown head gasket symptom.
  21. You need gauges and adapters. You really need to have it towed to a mechanic.
  22. If it's the sensor it won't hurt anything. If it's the pump you can destroy the engine. Only way to know for sure is to check the actual pressure. I wouldn't recommend driving it.
