  1. But then you wouldn't have anything to gripe about on the internet.
  2. I'm only arguing your allegation that Ford was purposefully deceptive and somehow misled you. They did not. Seems nobody wants to take any personal responsibility these days and that just irks me. Why can't you just say you're disappointed that some features aren't available yet? That would be honest and nobody would argue with it.
  3. No, you specifically said Ford was being deceptive and implying that certain features would be available and they're not. That is not the case at all. The web browser specifically was called out by Ford as not being available initially.
  4. Late availability means it's coming later, as in not right now. You'll get it.......later. Don't blame Ford for your lack of reading comprehension. I don't think you quite understand how Sync works with cell phones. Sync is a stand alone device with a bluetooth phone interface. Ford has programmed the bluetooth interface to use certain standard bluetooth features. However, Ford has NO control over cell phone mfrs and how they code their bluetooth interface. The fact that some phones work says that Ford has coded their side correctly and most problems are on the cell phone side - which Ford has NO control over. The cell phone lists on syncmyride.com are merely the result of Ford's tests with specific phones. They can't possibly fully test every phone on the market nor can they force phone mfrs to use the bluetooth interface correctly or to provide the necessary features required to make the system work.
  5. It's not mykey and I don't really see a reference to valet mode. Can you please explain how you stop the car and then lock it such that the remotes don't work? If it works after you manually unlock the door then my guess is something in your shutdown/locking procedure is leaving it in the wrong state and the remotes are locked out.
  6. I don't think the MyTouch interface is Microsoft. I think it's Adobe Flash running on top of Windows. It's more like a Ford app on a Windows O/S with windows providing the device connectivity and certain features like voice recognition. But I think most of it is Ford software which is why other companies won't just be able to buy a fully functioning Sync from MS.
  7. Ford also mentioned that a 2.0L Ecoboost engine would be available in the 2011 Edge. However, it won't be available until early next year. Is that deception also? You don't seem to understand the difference between reporting and advertising. The blogger was reporting the capabilities of the system. Nowhere did Ford state exactly which features would be available in exactly which vehicle on which date or model year. Those features didn't disappear - they just didn't make it into release 1. This happens in software releases every day. Show me where Ford advertised those features on the 2011 Edge and I'll agree with you. Otherwise you're just guilty of making bad assumptions.
  8. That was a blog report of an interview with a Ford designer. This was not Ford advertising, nor was it BS. If you bought a car based on a blogger's report then go blame the blogger, not Ford. Ford published demos of the Edge system and I don't recall seeing the features you're griping about. Unless you have some press release or other document from FORD saying this would be available on the 2011 Edge job 1 then you simply made a really bad assumption. There's no deception here or false advertising. And just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's wrong.
  9. You can't remove something if it never existed. Ford never promised that all of those features would be available day 1 (as far as I can tell). Nor have I seen anything that says those features won't eventually be available (we know the web browser is coming e.g.). Is it possible those features were planned for job 1 and got removed at the last minute? Sure - happens all the time with software development. As long as those things aren't advertised as being available on the 2011 Edge job 1 I don't see the problem (although I can understand the disappointment). It's more correct to say these features were discussed but not yet delivered.
  10. How do you lock the car? I know on the MKS when you lock the doors with the keypad it disables the keyfob for security reasons. If you lock the doors with the IA key does it work?
  11. Yes. Ford has already provided an app development kit. They're just waiting on the developers to finish the apps.
  12. Because the dealer knows more than Ford employees, right? Did you miss the part about the card being paired with the loaded software? You can't even swap cards between two edges with factory SD nav. Unless your dealer has the ability to code the SD card to the Nav software and then load the software you're going to be SOL.
  13. I just tried it and it works for me. Maybe you misspelled navigation? See - RTFM does work!
  14. Where did you get the PDF for MyTouch? I've only been able to find the owner's guide PDFs.
  15. sheesh yourself. I don't have a 2011 therefore I don't know the answer. So I can either ignore the question and let the OP continue to wonder or I can point out that he might be able to find it himself in his glovebox in just a few minutes. If I wanted to be rude about it I would have just said RTFM, but I didn't.
  16. It should be in the glove box with the owner's guide. It may be called something different but there should be a guide that explains the nav and infotainment systems in more detail.
  17. I think even mentioning "class action lawsuit" is stupid at this point. If Ford knows there is a problem and they're working on it then you have to give them time to come up with a fix. It's not like the vehicle is undriveable. There is no way Ford is ignoring this type of problem and a class action lawsuit will do nothing but waste time and money and make the lawyers rich.
  18. It's not a scam. They simply advance the timing which yields more power but requires premium fuel. It's a little more complicated but that's a basic tuning action, even before computers and it works.
  19. If you're an engineer then you should be able to figure this out yourself. The g force install instructions say The IAT sensor measures the ambient temperature of the incoming air. It transmits this to the ECU by changing the resistance in the circuit. The ECU sees this and adjusts accordingly. You're just fooling the engine into thinking the air temp is different. That's all that it can possibly do if it plugs into the IAT sensor. Now it may very well have a chip and programming but it still can't do anything other than trick the ECU about the ambient air temp no matter how intelligently it may do it.
  20. That's ridiculous. Why haven't they replaced the screen? You need to find another dealer. This is a hardware problem, not a sync software issue.
  21. This was also announced several months ago with some examples. I think Pandora was one of the first prototypes. The only caveat is that it won't work with the iphone due to the lack of a security chip in Sync. That's expected to be fixed next year.
  22. In the U.S. this is true. You get whatever is in effect when you take delivery. Remember these are factory rebates, not discounts and you have to actually buy something to qualify for a rebate. However, in Canada you get the choice of what's in effect at order time or delivery time.
  23. No - Ford just said ecoboost would be in 80% of the models. Edge gets the 2.0L Ecoboost which meets the requirement. I don't think you'll see the 3.5L EB in this version. They had to rebuild the entire front clip on the Flex/Taurus platform to handle the torque.
